Hey, Soul Sister

The Inquisitor's Revenge

Pilots. One thing Greyanna could never understand. They made out like traveling the stars was always some awesome adventure full of excitement and thrills. Her experience had been nothing but long drawn out spaces of time between two destinations. Periods of mind numbing boredom.

Thus far it had been much of the same. Everyone seemed to have a job during flight save her. She went to work pre and post flight. The inbetween was her twiddling thumbs most days. Held up in her cabin unless she was called for, feeling useless. That feeling made her stressed and when Grey was stressed bad things happened.

This whole crew thing was a new concept and she still hadn't come to terms with how she felt about it. Stability was strange, being responsible and accountable to other people..even stranger. It paid though, so..there was that. Grey wasn't going to ruin a steady pay check.

In an attempt to appear less useless, she had taken some of her considerable downtime to take a close inspection of Riggs ship. By no means an engineer or mechanic, Grey had seen plenty of freighters enough know where something could be improved.

!!!Holonet Transceiver!!!!

She jotted that down multiple times. It was good to stay connected, especially for her. Other things where listed, nothing major, but it was enough to make her consider not bringing it up to Damon herself. Pride and all that mess. Captain or not, she would knock a spacer out if he wanted to get snippy.

The next option, Teyla. The mom to be seemed like good people and of course had her hooks in Riggs. She got Grey this gig after all and was the only other woman on board. Yeah, she knew getting Teyla to play the baby mama card was underhanded, but likeminds, girl power, sisterhood, Grey wanted that transciever!

Vibrant pink hair followed the sound of a knock on the frame of the captain's quarters. "Teyla, Got a minute?" Peeking in, Grey spotted her hopeful partner in crime alone and didn't wait for a response.

She stepped in, flimsi in hand, before leaning against a wall. "How's the kid?"

Sitting with a pillow supporting her back, Teyla was yet again off her feet, entrenched in a holobook that was supposed to help her get prepared for impending motherhood. At twenty-four weeks out, they were little more than halfway there. Sighing, she set down the screen on the metal nightstand and reached for the handle of her lukewarm tea, pulling it to herself for a sip. Teyla had her doubts about any book being able to get her ready for this baby, especially one that was Force Sensitive. That section wasn’t covered at all. But she didn't really have anyone else to turn to on the matter, so books and guessing was it.

Across the room she heard a rap against the frame of her door, followed by a voice belonging to the only other female onboard. Had she become so lost in her own task that she’d forgotten to relieve Rafiki from his post? Was it already time to start her shift? Golden-brown eyes took a brief glance to the chrono on her wrist.

No, not her time yet.

She waved the other woman in, taking notice of the flimsy in hand. “Of course, come on in, Grey.” she smiled, wondering what her unexpected visitor might be needing.

“Doing good, kicking and wiggling all over the place.” She was starting to notice patterns, times when the baby was awake and when the baby was asleep, seeming to be on a schedule all their own. She supposed she should start getting used to that.

“So, what can I help you with? Are your quarters and accommodations alright? If it's about Rafiki, I already told him to clean up his fur mess.”
