It was dark, the pure pitch black so murky that by describing it so was disrespect in itself. From within the shadowy mist a form could faintly be seen.

After his battle with the warriors of the Fringe, Zaiden had fallen. His body was broken beyond repair, but his mind sustained itself. Fueled by the rage of leaving his family defenseless, he survived for agonizing weeks. But it was to no avail.

When his body finally broke, it exploded per the power of such darkness being released. But again he survived, living as a faint source of life that none should endure.

Thus he found himself on Tera Lush, his astral form creating the taint that marred he beautiful planet. He had sent a very enticing message to one Nemene Talith. It suggested the possibilities of her hand being involved in the creation of a devastating warrior. He knew of a being he would inhabit, one powerful enough to aid in his battles. A powerful Andolith lived nearby, a rare breed with the strength of the average human rather then the weak beings they usually were. He was a perfect specimen.

Zaiden knew, he had sent the man there for safety. If Nemene came as he believed she would, he would hope to lead her to best the man and bring him in. Once the being was cloned, Penumbra would rise again.

After having the process done on himself already, Zaiden knew the basics on how to place himself inside a host. After a time he would use the body as if it had always been his, just as he did with the prior clone he resided in.

When he came back, things would be different. Zaiden had finally accepted the darkness within himself, truly, and now used it. Harnessing such a devastating evil was dangerous, but useful in its own forms.

He would no longer be Sith, no, those days were gone. Zaiden would return to his days of Dark Jedi-hood.

He would right his wrongs...

Nemene stepped off of her ship with what could only be called regal grace. Her eyes were fixed forward, ignoring all the beauty of this world and instead sought out her objective. The orange orbs shifted and danced about until she saw what she was looking for, a small path. She smiled, and them moved down it, seemingly flowing through the underbrush as though it did not even touch her.

Her reason for being here was quite simple, she was offered an opportunity. She had received an envoy requesting her assistance and making her an offer, and offer to ply her new craft.

As of late she had attempted to take up cloning, something that she had never before tried. Over the past weeks she had become better and better at it, playing with different genes. It had become a simple game to her, figuring out what did what and how to change things about within the genetic codes. So far she had only worked on humans. The genetic code for humanity had long ago been mapped by the Scientists of the galaxy, there was nothing ground breaking about what she was doing, not yet anyway.

So far Nemene was nothing but a novice, soon though that would change.

The Queen of Rattatak learned quickly, and given a few more months she would be able to match even the famed Kaminoan's for their ability in cloning. That was her goal after all, to be a master at the craft. While other Sith had their Alchemy, she would have science.

Through the Force, the once amazing Stealth Master felt Nemene's arrival. Moving slowly, for it was a taxing process to simply keep a corporeal form, he stepped onto the same path the woman was on. As she came forward she would see a massive cloud of swirling darkness, and from within whispered a soft voice, "You wish to improve on an ability recently acquired. I wish to rid myself of the death recently gained.

"Nearby is a small home, it will look strange. Inside is a rare alien breed, an Andolith. Clone this body, perfect the form for me to inhabit, and i will forever be in your debt." Penumbra said, quick and to the point. No introductions, simply information for a task she could complete to aid herself and another.

Nemene couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the voice. It wasn't exactly commanding, and she quite appreciated that fact, if it had been she promptly would have left. Instead the voice was rather matter of fact, it asked her to complete a task in favor of improving her own skills, and this was an idea that Nemene could support, it was in fact an idea that she quite liked. She watched the cloud of swirling blackness for a moment, then nodded.

“Which way is it?” Nearby didn't exactly help her with locating the creature after all. She knew that this thing...was most likely a Sith, a Sith without a body. Her father had been master of that technique, residing in Chaos and taking on a new form for weeks at a time then taking a new one. Nemene knew better than most how to create a new host body for a Sith, though she only knew in theory.

This creature...this alien, was going to have to be practically a blank slate for a Sith to take it over. It would take time however. She would have to learn what species the alien was, how it formed together, decipher its genetic code. It would take weeks to even get that far, then even more time to begin the cloning process. After that it would be hit or miss whether the clones actually functioned, some would be malformed, some would be completely unrecognizable, and those that did come out perfect would likely deteriorate rapidly under the influence of the darkside. Nemene would have to fix that. She mused on that face for a moment, already plotting out lines of genetic code In her head, human ones, but codes nonetheless.

It would be a long process, but she would learn oh so very much. She waited for the thing to tell her exactly where the alien was.

"South along this path. Left at the fork in the road, then straight for roughly a hundred yards. It will be in the home on the right." He said, taking silent deep breaths. That was quite a bit to say all at once, so he was slightly winded. He would follow her on the venture, as he was sure she was aware of. This was the way to become whole once again.

In an entirely new form as well, so he would have many months of hard ship ahead - despite the downsides however was the greatest upside, life once more.

She nodded again in silent affirmation to the cloud of swirling blackness. She knew that whatever this creature was it was likely at least somewhat formidable. Luckily for her, she did not have to take to take it alive. The creature could be killed, and then taken aboard her ship for study, in fact that was probably the best way to do it. Once the creature was dead she could dissect it, clone it, and then freeze samples for later use.

As she began to walk through the jungle in her high toed boots she thought about the best way to go about this. She would need her laboratory back on Rattatak of course, and she had a facility on her ship where she could begin to analyze the new aliens genes, computers were fantastic tools after all, but it would still take time.

Absent minded she followed the black clouds directions, walking through the forest and cutting through branches and vines whenever they got in her way. She was lost in thought.

Eventually however she reached the home, staring at it for a few seconds and snapping out of her dream world. The Queen of Rattatak gave a slight sniff, realizing that she had to do her own dirty work here. With a scowl she looked down at her mud covered boots, already she was getting dirty. Raising her chin slightly she spoke to the darkness. “This will take time you realize?”

She wanted to make that clear before she went across the point of no return.

"Months minimum to be fully apt. I understand. Be careful, though the alien will be Physically only slightly stronger than yourself, his tail is faster than a bull whip and capable of sustaining combat with lightsabers. He is no easy prey. For..." Pausing for a long moment to breath before continuing, it would grow ever more evident to his companion that he was weakening, "one such as yourself it shouldnt be to difficult though."

Again she nodded in silence, there was no other answer. She had to go into this home and kill it, then transport the body back. Without another word she stepped forward out of the jungle and onto a rock path. She didn't bother taking a stealthy approach, why would she? She may not have been native to this world but Nemene was the alpha predator wherever she went, it was who...no what she was. She was a killer, a murderer, and a sadist to the utmost.

Killing this thing would not only be easy, it would be fun.

With a confident Gait The Queen of Rattatak walked to the front door, knocking twice and then drawing her lightsaber. She heard footsteps on the other side of the door, and when it slid open surprise flashed across her face for but an instant. The alien in front of her was in fact a centaur of some sort, a four legged man, she had not expected that in the least.

“What is the meaning of thi-”

She did not allow the creature to speak, instead her lightsaber snapped to life with a hiss and immediately found its way through the creatures body. A deep slicing cut carved into it and the alien roared loudly. It jumped forward towards Nemene intending to smash her to bit. In response she dashed to the side of its lumbering form, her tiny body easily swaying past it.

The Adolith attempted to smash her with its tail, though luckily she was again faster. Before the creature could fully come around Nemene was on top of it, her lightsaber blade plunging into its skull and ending its life in one fell swoop.

The Queen looked down at the creature, her subject matter.

“This is what you wish to become?” She frowned at the swirling darkness as blood pooled on the ground beneath the strange alien. On her wrist she pressed a button to summon her servants to her, they would place this behemoth on her ship.

"He was a freak, an outcast. Spending his whole life aiming to please others. When I claim the form, it will be as an Andolith Elite. Utilizing my trainings, combined with the capabilities of this form..." Penumbra seemed to fade for a moment and then he was back, "I will be nigh unstoppable..." As his voice trailed off into utter silence, it couldnt be denied that his manifestation was to draining.

"I will await you at your lab.." And then the mass of shadows was gone.

(Figured it would be easier to skip the ship ride.)

Nemene had taken the opportunity of the ship ride home to completely take apart and dissect the creature. She had thoroughly cut the alien into pieces. Its muscles, its ligaments, its bones, even its brain had been sliced into bits. Everything had been cataloged, everything had been placed away, and everything had been properly stored. By the time Nemene arrived back on Rattatak she was an expert on Andolith anatomy and how it functioned, to her it was that simple, everything committed to memory.

Unsurprisingly she had found that the creatures physiology did not differ from that of several other humanoid species in the galaxy, this aided with the gene sequencing that she required to clone the creature as it was easier to find certain pieces.

A few things however still alluded her, key components within the sequence that would need to be mapped and verified before she could even begin the cloning process. Already she was attempting to find these problem few sequences, if she did not succeed and finding and replicating them...well they would have to be replaced. This would cause impurity within the clone and would lead to faster deterioration, a most undesirable effect.

She frowned as she stepped onto the Arid desert world that was her home, continuing to frown until she arrived at her lab.

There scattered all around were a dozen or so cloning cylinders, half a dozen very expensive looking machines, a few droids, and several racks of blood, tissue, and other DNA samples form various species across the galaxy. At the end of the room was a massive vault door seemingly impenetrable, behind it lurked something unknown.

“Your little alien holds some mystery.” Nemene spoke out loud as she walked into her lab, knowing the disembodied Sith would be there. “Some of its genes are quite unique. Perhaps you should have gone to the Kaminoans with this, instead of me.”

The shadowy mist had been lurking in her lab, awaiting the womans arrival. When she arrived and spoke he replied with, "They evolved to be grazers, but not in the average sense. Even such an untrained specimen could not be considered a weak being." Having taken time to restore his energy he could speak easier once again, "I could have possessed someone better to utilize their tanks, or tried to scare them into it. But this seemed the best decision. If you cannot complete the task..then i misjudged your capabilities." It was a gamble prodding the woman, but he hoped the comments about not being good enough would drive her to find what she missed.

"I did not say I could not accomplish it" Annoyance punctuated her voice as she wandered through the lab and began to do her work. "It will simply take more time."

That was the last thing she said for the next several days, perhaps even weeks. She began the work on the body with systematic calculations. She scanned every dissected piece of the Andolith, cataloged it, then added it to a virtual mock up within her database. From there it was quite the simple matter to begin copying the creature.

Of course before she began aby work she made slight...alterations to the monster. Darkside corruption was an issue this body would suffer from to the extremes. To compensate she changed certain thing within the Andolith. Muscle growth, tissue regeneration, things of that nature.

The largest change however, came to the brain. It would house the consciousness of a Sith Master after all, and certain precautions had to be taken for safety.

She first cloned only bits of muscle mass and bone, quickpy however she moved passed this and entire bodies began to form. The Queen of Rattatak worked quickly.

Penumbra made sure to check on Nemene frequently, popping back into the lab in the same form of living shadows. She was good, better than anticipated. But she wasnt going to be able to place him in the body.

Sending out the barest pulse of his own energy, Penumbra waited. Ashin would sense him, and if she cared she would attempt to aid in his transfer. He was done asking her to help, he had done so to often. But that didnt mean it was unrequired. If he didnt have someone to put the batteries in, his toy couldnt work. Thus he simply hoped the amount of calm sent with the surge would let her know that he battled the darkness within.

He couldnt write his wrongs otherwise. "Ignore that.." He said, knowing Nemene would feel the small burst of energy, almost as well as Ashin would sense him. Zaiden prayed she would come to his aid.

A wavering outline took form in the middle of the lab, instantly. Zaiden James-Grayson was family to Ashin; his death at her hand had been a tragedy. And when her Hand called, she answered.

The only distinct element of the doppelganger was the pale, alchemical blue of Ashin's eyes, instantly familiar to anyone who'd met her. Those eyes fixed on the place where the Dark Master's spirit stood, then turned to Nemene Talith. Her voice susurrated, barely audible.

i see

the heir of moridin thinks to master overnight what a kaminoan genius takes decades to learn

but your bloodline was always known for hubris

and zaiden you call me because you know i have the power to place you in a new body but i do not

i am not that person anymore

my skillset has transcended that point and i have abandoned that power for something worth far more

something of which this is only a mockery

but i will respect your decision to cling to some semblance of mortality and send one who can accomplish what you seek

queen talith when my messenger arrives you will be given a parcel of reagents to aid the transfer use them

The presence vanished.
