Heroes and Heretics

This kind of indoctrination was not something that could be cleansed so easily, upon hearing the Jedi's words Evelynn turned away, as if she were not capable of facing the woman any longer.

Kaine had brainwashed her, Nemene had twisted her and Jared had given her a lust for power.

Those were three solid walls that had been erected within her mind and [member="Daella Apparine"] wasn't going to break them all down with a single conversation. The dark side was a serious path to go down, and even with rehabilitation once you've been to the brink, a part of it would always remain.

Evelynn didn't want Sopher to follow her, in fact she had instructed the boy to forget her but things in her life had a habit of not turning out as planned.

Once [member="Evelynn"] reacted, Daella turned her chin up a bit more and gave out a quick, "Heh."

Continuing, Daella claimed, "You turn away as if there's nothing I can do."

The tone in Daella's voice began to pick up again in intensity. Yet, it was more authoritarian than disciplinary as she said, "There is a path to take far greater than wonton slaughter - one in which you no longer have to look at Sopher in shame. You simply need to turn back for one moment."

It was a moment reserved for thought.

Precisely what Evelynn didn't do, she did however turn back.

Swiftly whirling around, the girl outstretched her arms and tried to clobber the Jedi over the head with her fists, or her cuffs, or you know, just with any general area of her arm, she wasn't fussy.

As [member="Evelynn"] lashed out, Daella just took a step back. Evelynn would not have had the room with her chains to stretch all the way to Daella - even with one of her arms having been released earlier. Her nails would have been just inches from her face. Yet, Daella remained composed. Evelynn had turned around as asked.

"Assuming justice has not been dealt to you by then," continued Daella, "When the time comes..."

Tilting her chin down, it would be as if Daella was lording over the slightly taller woman. Without Daella moving her lips, her voice rang out in Evelynn's head by saying:

Follow.

After that, Daella gave a pause before leaving Evelynn's cell - allowing the broken datapad to remain as well as Evelynn still chained by one arm. Before closing the door, Daella turned halfway to Evelynn to say, "As my shield, Jakobs will be with me. It may be your only chance to be with him and serve a worthy cause. You'll have to choose: pointless murder or purpose."

Then, Daella slammed the cell door behind her. It locked - sealing Evelynn back in her cage for another Jedi interrogate her.
