STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES:

["Wait, I know that!"]

Henne is quite the loremaster in her own right; not necessarily limited to knowledge of things pertaining to the Jedi. Her grasp of galactic history and culture puts even most librarians to shame. She is also fluent in Huttese, Mando'a, Gungan and Selkath, on top of Galactic Basic.

["Perhaps there's a way we can settle this that benefits us both."]

Although far from being a politician, Henne's political (and to an extent, business) acumen is sharp and she is quick to pick up on subtleties in talking. She is a master orator, and can mediate, or manipulate even the shrewdest of subjects with a finesse that would put even Nemoidians to shame.

["I'm a Jedi, not a swoop gang racer."]

As far back as her instructors could recall, Henne always had difficulty comprehending machines - making her one of the least likely candidates for a Jedi Sentinel. And while capable of flying small ships on her own, repairing them or even simpler vehicles like swoops, speeder bikes or droids is beyond her. Even reading manuals frustrate her, and simple weapon malfunctions that discerning gunslingers can easily fix wrack her sensibilities.

["This is getting out of hand!"]

While Henne nevertheless posseses remarkable martial capability typical of any Jedi Knight, she lacks certain 'attributes' and martial prowess to develop further in the field of combat. She is unable to grasp lightsaber Forms of Makashi, Ataru, and Djem So, and thus it is highly unlikely that she will ever touch upon Juyo/Vaapad. It is not that she is a total loss at fighting - she's just too frail to square up with more muscular or physically dominant opponents.

BIOGRAPHY: (WRITE-UP)

Henne Bastra is a female Morellian Jedi Knight specializing in the Path of the Consular. She was born originally on the capitol world of the old Morellian Commonwealth in Wild Space, and brought to the world of Monastery at a very early age by relatives following the tragic demise of her parents at the hands of Trandoshan smugglers in a botched Morellian Enforcers' operation, of which both her parents were rangers of.

And so at the age of 10 standard years, a conclave of Jedi within The Order of the Sacred Lotus took the orphaned Morellian under their wing (after noting the youngling's force sensitivity when, in fright, she screamed in a marketplace at an older scoundrel trying to take her somewhere against her will, and knocked every being in an approximately 5-meter radius back and off their feet), and her formal Jedi Training began. Archives on young Henne show her to be "average" with the use of a lightsaber, but quite intuitive and ingenious in the fields of negotiation, diplomacy and sensitivity to the peculiarities of alien languages and cultures. Her instructors however noted great spirit from the female, despite the frailty of her frame - she lacked the "mettle" to demonstrate proficiency in the basics of Forms IV and V, and lacked the dexterity to really get anywhere with Form II.

Truthfully, her instructors were about to recommend her for more "housekeeping"-oriented tasks around the temple she was housed in - only upon the insistence of a much older Jedi Knight, who claimed he'd find use for her penchant at bargaining, negotiating and mediating, was she reluctantly given the title of Padawan by the masters.

While initially her assignments only ranged from being sent to resolve simple disputes between families and clans on Monastery, she eventually found a chance to prove herself and really hone her skills upon the arrival of the Confederacy, where she then took on the role of both ambassador and guide to the many different species and communities on Monastery, assisting in the peaceful transition of these smaller societies and keeping the planet from breaking out into civil war over perceived "concerns" with Confederate control. She also served as an adviser to one of the magistrates of the city of Vitalii, where she personally petitioned and counseled for several dozen judicial cases and mediated hearings between the Sacred Lotus and the citizenry.

The catalyst for her eventual promotion to the rank of Jedi Knight came when she was supposed to head to the Place of Healing to secure a few vials of the healing water for the benefit of a few very sick people that were being quarantined in her temple, only to find that the 2 Jedi who were supposed to be on duty for the night watch missing from their normal routes. Venturing further into the Nexus -already drained from the arduous journey to get there in the first place-, she realized that the Jedi were taken prisoner by a small squad of very skilled Mandalorian mercenaries, who'd somehow infiltrated the Healing Nexus (by way of just 2 swoop bikes and personal cloaking devices under the cover of darkness) and were planning to take some of the water for themselves - the reasons at this point still unknown.

To cut the story short, Henne was able to reason with the Mandalorians that the violence was unnecessary and negotiated for the release of the 2 Jedi (unharmed, save for their egos) via Jedi Mind Trick, and after winning a ceremonial vibro-blade duel with one of the members after the squad of mercenaries challenged her to prove her resolve to stopping them (she in turn agreed to avoid the possibility of having a bigger firefight in such a holy place), discovered that one of their clan's lieutenants had fallen gravely ill and needed the healing water. She'd share one of her light-side-aligned flasks with them, see them off, de-brief the newly-freed Jedi sentries, take some of the healing water back for the quarantined ward back at the temple, and simply wrote an official report to the Jedi Masters. Henne Bastra achieved the rank of Jedi Knight soon after.

She is now a fully-fledged Jedi Consular, a Jedi Ambassador of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a Jedi Healer of the Order of the Sacred Lotus, and a voracious chronicler of the histories, cultures, quirks and eccentricities of the galaxy's myriad societies, communities, conclaves, communes and orders.
