Help needed - Soresu and using a double-bladed saber

Maja has finally acquired the second crystal for her lightsaber (this pre-dates the Event, as would the construction). She plans to make a double-bladed lightsaber. So she needs:

i) someone to assist her with the construction
ii) someone to teach her Soresu
iii) someone to teach her how to wield a double-bladed saber

Ideally it is the same person. Maja is something of a loner and will seek the expert she believes will do the best job for her. Her ultimate plan is to return when her training in the Force is complete to show her sister she is a worthy sibling (and probably ask for a hug too).

So if you’re that expert and would like to teach Maja, please let me know. Thanks :)

After Kenobi, she's my favourite for the third Form - yet never gets a mention :(
Well, Zannah is overshadowed by Bane in Karpyshyn's trilogy. Because she is subtler, not especially gifted (read: flashy like Maul or big and powerful like Vader) with a lightsaber, she isn't as well-regarded. Soresu is also underrated too.

IRL I love Soresu and it would probably be my form of choice. However, Amaethon prefers to use his saber against other duelists and the Force against other things.
Why do people underrate Soresu against sabers? OWK did OK against Grievous, Anakin, Ventress etc. etc. And Zannah killed Bane after all.

:)

Defensive = likely not to be flashy = therefore to be ignored by all but those who actually know what combat is supposed to look like!

Soresu is a beautiful form, and I've always loved it. Alas, it's very poorly understood, since people often refer to Soresu as an anti-blaster form, and nearly useless for anything else. They're wrong, of course, but it doesn't stop the misconception getting around.

Zannah killed a weakened Bane who was past his physical prime, to be honest. Prime Bane would have totally dominated her, especially with orbelisk armor and going into a Juyo frenzy. She was good with Soresu but by no means a master like Obi-Wan. Sarro Xaj would've killed her if Johun hadn't gotten in his way. She was smart enough to see weakness and explot it, like a true Sith.

Anakin met his match in Obi-Wan, a true defensive bulwark. Plus, Kenobi knew Anakin's tendencies and weaknesses very well and Anakin was overconfident and overly aggressive. If Kenobi had gone one on one with Tyrannus, I believe the Count would've won, however. I do think he would've lasted far longer than Skywalker who would have blundered into a saber through the heart.

Ventress was overrated and an ambush specialist. Grevious though, yes, Kenobi did very well indeed with Soresu style defense holding off the cyborg.

*Remember the asterisk? Hopefully it will become clear. And so...to end any possible confusion:

Melori welcomed you OOC to the OS

And Melori is Darth Arcanix' sister

But the reference to Soresu was because of the above quote

And the quote was for Maja

And Maja is the sister of [member="Silara"]

There's more - but then it would get complicated :)

I prefer Juyo as a writer preference, but I have been writing Silara as a Makashi master until now. The issue of being blind will cause her to have to alter the flow of combat, in which Juyo will likely serve a greater purpose than Makashi without true sight.
