Help! Leori Sheltrak

[member="Leori Sheltrak"]

Hawk was relieved that Maddie wasn't going to die. He couldn't have handle it to lose his only child. "No objections. He didn't want anyone else getting this nasty bug. "Oh no. I did a stupid thing. I went out after you left. Maddie wanted her teddy bear so badly. I just went to my room."

There was a knock on Leori's door. A couple of sick Padawans were outside.

Leori was just about to take some samples from Hawk when there was another knock on the door. She narrowed her eyes. There were a couple of beings on the other side of her door. They weren't well, she could feel that much. When Hawk told her that he'd left the room, she sighed inwardly. But none of that was visible or audible to Hawk.

She opened the door and ushered the Padawans inside. "Pull up a chair. I'll be with you in a moment."

The Jedi Master turned to Hawk once more, and took the samples that she needed. They were tucked into her bag before she turned to the Padawans and spoke.

"I can relieve the fever and nausea, but I can't get rid of your virus. You will feel like this for a few days. You will be restricted to this room. Have you encountered anyone else in the last few hours?"

One of the Padawans groans. "Yea. I was in the mess hall when I got sick. It filled with people." Hawk frowns. "That bad. That could be hundreds of people."

The other Padawan sat down in chair. "I was alone in my room when it hit. I thought at first that I was hung over. I was celebrating my birthday."

Leori sighed, audibly this time. "Well, this is going to be a very long day. I need to go and get these samples to the lab and get a vaccine developed as soon as possible. I'll have a treatment centre arranged to relieve those affected. Everyone please stay here and don't spread it any further."

She left then, and went back to work.

"Yes Master." Said the two Padawans. Since the bed was already occupied by Hawk and Maddie, they laid down on the floor with pillows and a blanket.

Hawk kissed Maddie forehead than laid down to go back to sleep.

She had a vaccine in her hands a few hours later, thanks to a combined effort of Jedi and specialists. And more were being replicated. She called for all Jedi to receive the vaccine as soon as possible. Those already infected wouldn't get a great deal of benefit from it, but they could get their symptoms relieved. Leori took the first vaccine herself. It was simply easier and less effort to do so, though she could monitor her condition through the Force. But that was effort that could be saved for others that needed her assistance.

The Jedi Master returned to her quarters then. If everyone was still alive, she could relax. The worst of it would have passed by now. She opened her door. "How is everyone doing?"

Hawk and Maddie were awake and feeling better. Maddie was watching a cartoon on tv. Hawk and the other Padawan were kneeling down next to dead Padawan.

They had done everything to revive him but they were unable too. Hawk told Leori through the force. "He's dead." He didn't want to upset Maddie. Maddie thought that the dead Padawan was sleeping. The Padawan that died had just celebrated his birthday the night before.

Leori looked to the Padawan that was dead on the floor and the two next to him. "Why didn't you call for me?" This was not good. Now there were two different strings of the virus. Great.

Gently, she used the Force to levitate the dead Jedi out of her quarters and to the corridor. "I have more work to do. Please alert me of ANY changes. I can't help if you don't tell me what is happening."

Now she'd have to find out if she could make a second vaccine for the fatal version of the virus....

"It happen quickly. One minute he was fine. Next he spamed and died." Hawk told her in the force. With the Padawan dying in the room were they all infected with the new virus. "Please hurry." Hawk looks worrily at his daughter.

"Daddy what happen to the man? Why did he leave?" Asks Maddie as she hugs her teddy. Hawk mentally sighs. He really didn't know what to say. He didn't want to lie. "Sweetie, he died." She looked at him not understanding.

"What that?" He sits down next to her. He put her on his lap. "It means that he is one with the force. His spirit left his body. His body stop working." Maddie nods, "oh." She really didn't understand but accepted what he was saying.

The team assisting the Jedi Master deserved commendations for their work in the last twenty four hours. They'd been working around the clock, but they finally had done it. Another vaccine was ready. And an immune booster for those that were already infected.

She'd begun calling those infected to get their boost.

Hawk was relieved when it was Maddie turn to recieved the booster. Every time she coughed or moved, he was afraid that she would have the fatal virus. He carried her to Leori.

He sits Maddie down on the table. "Thank you Leori. I'll never forget all your hard work." He leaned over and kissed her cheek.

Leori smiled a little. "You are most welcome. I'm just glad that I could help." If it were a faster acting virus, there might well have been many more casualties. And in the temple no less.

She offered Maddie a smile. "You'll feel better tomorrow. You should rest and watch movies until then." That certain wouldn't be a hard order to follow, considering she was probably dehydrated and weak. "And drink lots of water. Both of you."

"Yes, Master" said Maddie. She lean against her Dad. "Wanna watch with us?" Asks Maddie. Hawk raises an eyebrow at Maddie. Ever since she been with him. She been playing matchmaker with any woman he talk too. He figures she was missing her mom.

Leori offered Maddie a smile. "I would like to join you, but there are still many people I need to help first. But I will check in on you both in a few hours." She clapped the girl gently on the shoulder. "You can go back to your Dad's room now. Be comfortable. The worst is over."

Her eyes looked to Hawk for a moment, and with a nod, she departed for others. That girl would be trouble for Hawk, she could tell. Leori chuckled.

Maddie smiles."see ya." Hawk smiles. "Thanks again. See ya later." He says to Leori as he carries Maddie out of the medical center. "So what movie do you want to watch?" He asks. Maddie thinks for a moment. "Princess mermaid movie." Hawk nods. "Little mermaid. It is." They only seen it 100 times in the last week.

Leori chuckled as she went back to work, and shook her head with a smile as she continued her work.

A few hours later, she knocked on Hawk's door. "It's Leori," the Jedi Master announced.

After they got home, Hawk put Maddie in her princess night gown. It would be easier to put her to bed when she falls asleep in front of the holo tv. Maddie got her blanket and pillow and lay down on her stomach watching the movie.

Hawk popped some popcorn. He was amazed how much better they felt. He had just put in another princess movie in when Leori knocked. Maddie jumps up, "I'll get it." Hawk laughs. "All right."

Maddie runs to the door. Her blonde hair flying. She opens the door to the Jedi. "Hi Leori. We are watching movies." She takes Leori hand and takes her to the family room. "Daddy made popcorn.. You can sit with him. I'm on the floor."

Hawk smiles. "Hi Leori. I hope you like princess movies."

Leori blinked as she was dragged inside. "So you're feeling better I see...You may want to take it easy on the popcorn. Your stomach hasn't had food in a while, and grease is probably not the best thing for a greeting after illness."

With the lecture complete, she sat down as requested. "Princess movie eh? I've probably seen it already." She smirked.
