Hello! (or Boo's Thread for Stupid Questions)

Newbie here.

As you may be able to tell from the sheet/tags, this is a character that's influenced by Kid Loki from Marvel's Journey into Mystery, Kai from the Legend of Korra, and Killua Zoldyck from the Hunter x Hunter manga. My hope is that I'll be able to put a unique spin on a darkside character through the exploration of faith, religion, and the ubiquitous nature of "good" or "evil".

This character is primarily intended to fill a story role for [member="Captain Jordan"] and [member="Jorj Kell"] as part of their "That Story with a Ship" character story arc, but I'm interested in the lore behind your faction. I also write over in the Rebel Alliance, and you guys came highly recommended from those folks.

So, yeah, that's me. Happy to be here and I hope to have an opportunity to write with some new people

A few questions if anyone can help me with these:

1. How long has the Primeval religion been experiencing a resurgence in the Galaxy (if I understand correct that it's a previously forgotten religion from the past?)

2. What is the name of the religion? Primeval? How do adherents refer to it?

3. Are places of worship known by any particular name (e.g. temple, cathedral, church, etc)? Or does it change depending on size/purpose (such as in Catholicism or Mormonism)?

First I'd like to formally welcome you to The Primeval. I know we've discussed this very briefly on Skype!

1. The Primeval religion originated on Umbara from a rebellious group lead by the 'First Prophet' who sought to enlighten the galaxy, end wars, and unite the people under common grounds rather than a government. After being exiled, the prophet and their followers went to many worlds tat are now part of a great pilgrimage before vanishing into the unknown regions. The current resurgence is roughly a decade or so old in terms of Chaos canon. Of course; somewhere along the way they became xenocidal zealots.

2. The Primeval is both the name of the social body and religion. They reject traditional governments on principle and believe nations are merely a tool for the comfort of society. The society is a meritocracy; meaning people are placed in caste-like systems based on their intelligence, skills, and education. Those who are less talented will be lower members of society whilst those who are more talented will find themselves higher up. There is sort of a set of commandments called the Seven Doctrines. These Doctrines more-or-less mandate how people follow the law, fall into place, and how powerholders are chosen. The Host Lord is the equivalent to the Pope. They're the final authority in all matters. There is, however, the Prophet. One who is chosen amongst The Assembly (our college of cardinals) to be the one who leads us into transcendence. Currently Anja is the 15th Prophet in our lore -- so there haven't been many chosen.

3. This is something I've been working on. I'm planning on drawing out the pilgrimage and allow people to visit the various worlds touched by the First Prophet on his great exile.

When I'd crafted his bio, I'd written that his parents had been adherents to "an old religion", with the idea that they would have introduced him to the worship of the Primeval. They had fled Orto Plutonia to Coruscant (where Boo was born). Does that sound feasible for how he would come by the religion? Or should I work on that some more to make it better?

I figure he'll be making a pilgrimage to Primeval space as a way of introducing him to the faction. Is there any particular thread that either of you would recommend I join?

I would personally suggest That Is Not Dead Which Can Eternal Lie, since it's just us exploring Korriban, but there is also the Dominion of Sernpidal which is rich with character to development, but may not be what you're looking for. Again, there is also my personal project in the Chiloon Rift, but I don't think it's what you're looking for. Feel free to go ahead anyway, but from what you've told me I'm not sure it's the best fit for you

So, following with the notion that my character is a hapless religious nut, I've been peppering my posts with stuff about the Primeval religion based on what I've seen in Faction discussions and the Faction description.

How am I doing with that? Hit? Miss? Boo quit karking this stuff up?

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on how I've been portraying the Primeval religion thus far and what room for improvement I may need to address with that portrayal.

You're doing great, honesty. I love it so far! Your portrayals have been pretty spot on. I mean, I made it vague exactly so people can portray it however you'd like and your interpretations are amazing.
