Hello and a Plea For Ideas

Good evening, I'm new as my post count tells you .

I'm stuck for character ideas, you see. I will admit that I want to go about making yet another Force wielding character. There is just something about the lightsaber that intrigued me since I was small. Killing is something I heavily disapprove of, and yet, my obsession with swords. These things have no other purpose but to do violence but they fascinate me.

I want to make something of a Form I specialist because it resembles Kendo and Western longsword fighting arts. Also, people seem to pick anything but Form I for a saber user. I'm open to gender whether they are male or female and am not necessarily set on their being Human.

I would like them to be a bit more neutral, a bit more violent than a canon Jedi. If they were a Dark Jedi, that would work too, but I'm not sure about the Sith. Every Sith idea I have ever had eventually ends up being a deranged killer with a troubled past or a fallen Jedi. I personally can't think of anything else.

So please, if you would do me a solid, could you give me some ideas to help bust through this mental barrier?

In a way, that describes the Jensaarai fairly well, if you might be interested. They're more pragmatic and less mystical than the Jedi Order traditionally is considered, and since they also incorporate some Sith teachings, they're more aggressive than the Jedi but are still Light Side. As far as I can tell, they're less of an Eastern mysticism type monk and more along the lines of Western knights.

Shii-Cho isn't exactly as uncommon on this board as you might think. Perhaps the greatest duelist on the site, [member="Ashin Varanin"], is a Form I specialist, and most of our other fighters are at least proficient in it. Basing an entire character on a lightsaber form can be an interesting character concept, though. All of the forms have a philosophy behind them, as well as a technique. A character might try to apply Shii-Cho to their entire life, seeking the simplest solution, and throwing themselves to the Force in order to get through ordeals.

Anyway. Don't feel any guilt about playing Force users. We've got so many that we're starting a board plotline on the imbalance it's causing in the Force.
