RATIONALE:
Desperate to re-secure his family legacy and amass untold fortune, Zothustro Quill refounded the company of Cestus Cybernetics with the help of bounty-hunter-gone-millionaire Hannibal Oryen. Following the success of the company within Mandalorian space, the company was procured by Sith Lord Darth Janus and re-branded as Hegemonic Automaton.

DESCRIPTION:

Ancient History: In the ancient past, Cestus Cybernetics was a subsidiary of Baktoid Armor Workshop. During the Clone Wars, the company gained incredible political power over its home planet of Ord Cestus and rose to prominence after several successful products were introduced by it into the galactic market. After threatening to defect to the Confederacy, the company was crushed over the course of a series of events known as the “Cestus Deception.” After Cestus’ Cybernetics board of directors were coldly murdered by the bloodthirsty Republic, the company was seized and dismantled by the interim government of Ord Cestus. Its blueprints and schematics were destroyed and, by the rise of the Empire, the name Cestus Cybernetics had completely faded into obscurity.

Recent History: Zothustro Quill, a descendant of one of the original founders of Cestus Cybernetics, refounded the company alongside mercenary and droid engineer Hannibal Oryen. The company enjoyed marked success shortly after appearing in Mandalorian space, releasing an entire line of six general labor droids, a line of three medical droids, and beginning to introduce a line of combat droids. All of which utilized droid brains of unparalleled power. More recently, the company was recently sold to an anonymous agent of the equally obscure Tionese Hegemony. This change in leadership has been kept almost entirely muted. Following this acquisition by the agent in question, the company changed its identity to Hegemonic Automaton. A more powerful name for a more powerful corporate force in the galaxy.

Operations: Hegemonic Automaton strives to deliver the highest quality droids for the lowest possible prices. To do that, all of Hegemonic Automaton’s labor and resources are purchased on Ord Cestus, where such things are cheap. Further, Ord Cestus’ lax taxation laws allow the company even more freedom to do as it pleases. Since all manufacturing and development takes place on Ord Cestus, Hegemonic Automaton relies on a system of distribution centers to deliver its products. Manufactured products on Ord Cestus will be sent to distribution centers on Denon and Celanon, whereupon they will be shipped to consumers via the trade ships of Arceneau Trade. Very stringent measures are in place in terms of Hegemonic Automaton’s hiring procedures. Its factories are mostly subterranean and heavily fortified. They are only accessible via airspeeder, as they are uniformly located within Ord Cestus’ hostile Badlands. Hegemonic Automaton only hires born-natives of Ord Cestus to work in its factories. Hiring procedures at distribution centers are much less stringent, however.
