APPEARANCE:
Hector's facial expression is seldom anything less than a grin. His appearance would best be described as "laid back", best exemplified by his unkempt black hair. His grey eyes would be piercing at times were he not so energetic and kind. His build is fairly athletic, and he stands at a modest height of under six feet. He often dresses in the traditional Jedi robes, always intent on keeping his traditions despite no longer being affiliated with the order.

BIOGRAPHY:
Hector was born to a gambler and his lover in 845 on the planet of Coruscant. Hector had a rather contentious relationship with his father, who was a drunk and often took his losses in gambling out on Hector, causing the latter to become rather meek in disposition. His force sensitivity was repressed for quite some time, and only came into play at the age of six, when two bullies confronted him, causing Hector to push one away without touching him.

Little brought Hector more joy throughout his childhood than the pursuit of knowledge. He learned of the Muuns and their banking, the Hutts and their crimes, and the everlasting war between Jedi and Sith. All of these fascinated him, though he never presumed he would come face to face with any of them.

Hector's father, being a gambler, smelled profit in the child's abilities, and, knowing of the influence the force could have over gambles, decided to attempt to use it to his advantage in the local casino. Whilst there, a man approached the father-son duo, a troubled look on his face. The weapon on the man's hip told the two all they needed to know, this man was a Jedi Knight. Hector was rather starstruck at seeing a real Jedi for the first time, but his father did not share that enthusiasm. Still, the man knew better than to turn away a full fledged Jedi, and so the man approached the two unopposed

The Knight first took a long look at Hector before speaking. He addressed Hector’s father first, asking for a word with the boy alone. Hector’s father knew he hardly had a choice, and nodded.

Hector was rather enthusiastic for a talk with a Jedi Knight, and he could hardly stop himself from blurting out questions, his shy nature all but abandoned. The Knight introduced himself as Daven Marjos, a consular at the temple. He told Hector that he sensed the boy’s force abilities and would like to take him to the temple.

Hector nearly passed out from excitement, immediately agreeing to go, but informing Daven that his father would not comply. “It will not be an issue,” said Daven with a smirk.

Hector’s father agreed immediately when asked by the Knight, practically parroting the man’s words. Hector and his new acquaintance would depart for the temple immediately, and upon arrival, Hector would find that the place felt more like home than his apartment in the lower city.

Hector spent years familiarizing himself with the temple and its inhabitants, and, when the time had come, began an apprenticeship to Daven. He learned many things from the knight, and he honed his powers with the force much more acutely. He also took up the study of Ataru, preferring to resolve combat through evasion over pure deadly force.

Hector had grown quite accustomed to the lifestyle of a Padawan when change struck. It happened in the blink of an eye. Hector had been sparring with his master when they heard an explosion, with Daven sensing a great tragedy about to occur. He grabbed Hector by the arm, pulling the boy who was nearly paralyzed with shock onto his ship, and flying to the Outer Rim. The Sith had besieged Coruscant, and Hector no longer had a home.

For many more years, Hector and Daven wandered throughout the galaxy, continuing Hector’s training on planets such as Muunilinst, places that Hector had never imagined himself visiting.

On one occasion, the pair was confronted by bounty hunters, who, despite not originally seeking out the Jedi, had discovered their force sensitivity and seen it as a golden opportunity. Daven quickly disposed of three of them, only to find Hector struggling with the other. A blaster was pointed to the boy’s head, and his lightsaber was deactivated.

“Turn it on, Hector!” Daven yelled, and Hector complied, but nothing happened. The emitter was broken. Daven reacted hardly in the nick of time, throwing his own saber and decapitating the man just before his Padawan was shot. Neither Daven nor Hector were injured, but the damage to the latter’s lightsaber was significant, and Daven could not repair it himself, nor did he risk discovery by taking it to a craftsman.

At the age of 19, Hector found himself on the planet of Cadomai Prime, Daven having insisted that no one would be looking for them there. It was a frigid, harsh world, but Hector had never known his master to be wrong, but this time was his first and last miscalculation.

Daven and Hector would enter a spaceport, only to find an imperial ship unloading before them. An officer would step down from the landing craft, followed by a figure dressed in black, carrying what was unmistakably a lightsaber. “An inquisitor,” Daven whispered. “You have to run, Hector. I only realized now, but there is a man following us. A spy. I will handle him, and the inquisitor if needs be, but it is possible that I fail in either of these. Do not wait for me. I will find you if I can.”

Hector was reluctant to go along with his master’s plan, but he assured himself again that Daven was never wrong. He fled.

It has been two days since Daven has disappeared, and Hector has not heard from the man, nor from the Imperial presence on the planet.
