"You requested Master Truden specifically."

"Yes." a rigid posture, hands locked behind his back and steely-blue eyes looked out of the window inside Rhen's office. Unease spread through him as he noticed just how fething high they were off the ground. Not that space travel was any different, but still. Cole wondered if they couldn't have opted for a less... impressive design.

One that was structurally less fragile.

"Any particular reason, Knight Katarn?"

Expected. She had gone dark. Details were sketchy, but the fact that Truden had fallen to the Darkside wasn't up for debate - what was up for debate were her reasons and rationale. But that was the kind of discussions left to the Marshals.

"She isn't like the others."

Rhen wasn't letting it go. "Our Order has multiple experienced Masters. Men and women of proven integrity."

Right. Militant jarheads, investigators sniffing around healer zabraks and prancing Masters playing house instead of fighting the good fight. Sometimes the Galactic Alliance felt more like an episode of a random zeltrosian drama HoloNet series.

"They are... determined."

That earned him a chuckle, but he could almost sense the Marshal shaking his head.

"I promised your father I'd guide you, Cole." and that hit a note. Cole turned around, rigid posture turning even more stiff. A silence swept in between them. It continued for a few seconds, before Cole looked away again.

"And I appreciate it, Grand Marshal Rhen."

Maybe the title was there to put some more distance between them.

"Cole."

"Master Rhen." the older man sighed, shook his head and then stood up. He walked around his table and halted in front of it.

"You have made up your mind then?"

"We both know that I don't fit with the rest of the Order's culture."

"Very well then. Once she is out of her probation you can report to her."

"Thank you, Master."

A wry smile accompanied the second sigh. "Don't thank me yet, lad."

Knight Katarn.

Knight. Katarn.

This was the force’s way of poking fun at Kana, wasn’t it? [member="Cole Katarn"], a jedi knight on Sullust. Sullust which was the planet around which the moon Sulon orbited. Sulon which was the original home to the real Katarn. Kyle Katarn. There was no way it could be anything but life tossing a curve ball at Kana.

Not that it mattered, life in a prison cell was taking some getting used to but the more time that the rehabilitating fallen Jedi spent in her cramped little room the better it got. The bed was bad, the food was bad, but the talks and random visits from friends and acquaintances (most of which were with [member="Jacen Voidstalker"] at this point) helped provide some insight into what she had done and what she could do about it. And even if the trust for her supposed saviors was as spotty as ever, Kana saw no problem with helping them help herself. It was a trade that for all intents and purposes were as good for them as it was for her. Bring an end to the madness and distress.

Her shuttle came to a halt on the outskirts of the prison grounds. It felt weird, this would mark the first time she stepped foot outside her cell in what felt like weeks by the very least since she had arrived, months possibly even. To step outside and talk to Cole Katarn was... Well, it was a weird thing. She had no idea why he had requested a meeting with her but he had and in return she had figured this as good of a time as any to indulge upon life on the outside.

Her feet touched ground and with that the fellow Jedi Knight that had been placed on surveillance duty followed close-by. She was still in a standard issue prison robe there was no sense in trying to hide where she ‘came from’ around these parts. Besides, her own clothes had a gaping hole from the entire ordeal on Nar Shaddaa. That was not to mention that everyone around the temple grounds knew who she was and that she would soon enough return to where they all expected her to be again within the next two hours.

In her cell. Where even Kana knew that she belonged at this point.

Now, either she was early or Jedi were as bad at being on time as she remembered it from her days as a knight. This Cole Katarn, who she had no idea what he would look like was nowhere to be seen. She looked at the Jedi Knight that accompanied her. Brown hair, brown eyes and a stare that somehow managed to radiate both duty, fear and trust.

Kana had missed the way Jedi behaved. Perhaps more than she had realized before.
