Permissions: When will I learn?
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Age: Unknown
Species: Undefined
Appearance:
Hasuras Na-Amoun is entirely encased in richly embellished golden armor, underneath which appears to be black armorweave. He wears a striking red cape to top it off. Circumstance has reduced him to little more than an intangible spirit composed of ink-black mist. He is therefore entirely confined to his armor and indifferent to the needs of the living. Otherwise, he has a tall, lithe stature. His movements are quick and refined.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
Name: Hasuras Na-Amoun
Alias: Meliant
Affiliations:
Wealth: Negligible
SKILLS
Endurance: Has not been observed to tire. Keeps going long after others have tired themselves out.
Pain Threshold: Sustains wounds which would normally be lethal and continues on.
Shivers: A sharply honed sixth sense for danger. Difficult to ambush. Difficult to mislead.
Reaction Speed: Good reflexes. Easily anticipates incoming blows.
Savoir Faire: Quick and graceful. A natural acrobat. Master of "hardcore parkour."

PERSONALITY
"She regarded Amoun's dry witticism and grating laugh only with a thought: He was exactly the kind of person Mercy would rope into this." - Arris Windrun

Amoun is ruled by envy and covetousness. He desires power and prestige for no other reason than to simply have these things. In the words of his father, he has "the jealous ambition of a slave." He has large chip on his shoulder - likely as a result of being scorned, overlooked, or otherwise denied those things he's always felt entitled to.
He is a habitual breaker of oaths. Amoun abandoned his family, abandoned the Gûdjoti, and then abandoned the Galactic Empire. If there is anything he can be said to reliably follow, then it is only the promise of power and rank.
COMBAT INFORMATION
Amoun fights with a blend of Form IV and Form III: elegance and rapid repositioning. His bladework is erratic and whirling, often used only to misdirect for the opportunity to punch, kick, and backhand his foes. Amoun is likewise trained in a variant of stava.
In battle, he makes constant and instinctive use of Force Drain, skimming off the top of his opponent's power to augment his own abilities. This is an ancient technique. The stronger his foe is in the Force, the stronger he becomes. It is only useful against individual foes, and a savvy opponent might find a way to use that bond against him.

HISTORY
Hasuras Na-Amoun was born to a Vahlan host in the distant galaxy of Firefist. A rogue and black sheep, he never quite embodied the warrior ethos of his family. He therefore ran away to join the Gûdjoti, or tomb knights, of a far off star system. Amoun's departure caused something of a scandal, but he was ultimately left alone.
Amoun took a new name in the style of the Gûdjoti: Amoun Tel Khos. Khos was the name of the ancient Sith Lord whose tomb Amoun was to guard. He did this for some years, then grew impatient and sought to break his oath. A small cataclysm unfolded that saw Amoun shriven from his body and reduced to a spirit. All edifice was stripped away. Only hunger and naked ambition remained.
From there, he fled to this galaxy, where he was inducted into the Dark Side Elite of the Galactic Empire, then-led by Darth Solipsis. Here, he took the name of Meliant, and was among the most active and known of the Dark Side Elite. Meliant was soon swelled with the power of the Dark Side, but earned no prestige or favor despite his service to the Empire.
Amoun was subsequently induced to betray the Empire by the Sith Lord, Mercy, who promised him rank and prestige in the Sith Covenant. Amoun did as he was asked, and the rest is history.

  • Army Name: Night Legion
  • Classification: Warlord's Host
  • Affiliation:
    • Meliant, Sith Covenant
  • Army Symbol: See above: the modified Imperial roundel, flanked by the arcing rays of the Sith.
  • Description:
The Night Legion was a amalgamation of Imperial military units previously in service to the second Empire of Darth Solipsis. Following the collapse of his latest regime, many came to serve the new Emperor of Coruscant: Darth Apogaion. Their reasons for doing so varied, with some seeking continuity and others following promises of freedom, wealth, and glory.
The soldiers of the Night Legion were unruly, rapacious, and frequently malevolent. Discipline was lax, but skill at warfare was not in short supply. Many were hardened veterans of the Empire's myriad battles and other "peacekeeping" operations. They were inclined to show off their status by decorating their armor in elaborate war paint, or adorning themselves in macabre trinkets. No one could mistake a Night Legion trooper for a true Imperial.
The Night Legion made liberal use of Sith Battlelords. Apogaion had his Tribunes bound to him, and the Tribunes in turn had their Captains bound to them, and the Captains their officers. While not every soldier was so-slaved to their superior, this gave the leadership of the Night Legion a constant, low-level awareness of the doings of their underlings, as well as the ability to communicate telepathically.
Despite this, the Night Legion was only ever loosely organized. Beyond the captains and their maniples, soldiers were left to self-organize themselves into independent war-bands.

  • Headquarters: Grand Temple of the Sith Ascendant, Scirits
  • Goals:
    • Enrich themselves at the expense of others
    • Do whatever Meliant tells them to do
  • Reputation:
The Night Legion was widely despised as rapacious criminals with no higher purpose beyond their own enrichment, loyal as they were to a despicable traitor. Where they went, misery and immiseration were sure to follow.
The common elements of the Night Legion were seen merely as raiders, cutthroats, and deserters. The Night Legionaries themselves struck terror into the hearts of their foes, and were known as ruthless Jedi-killers and lethal commandos.

  • Army Size: Huge. The Night Legion was divided into four Banners of ~30,000 men, each led by a Tribune. The Banners were further divided into Maniples of ~300 men, led by a Captain. The Banners were loosely organized, and so their exact numbers tended to fluctuate.
The White Banner, led by the Tribune Macarius - known for their rapid maneuvering and irregular warfare
The Red Banner, led by the Tribune Acacius - known for pillaging, counterinsurgency, and salvaging
The Black Banner, led by the Tribune Thalelaeus - known for siege warfare and boarding operations
The Golden Banner, led by the Tribune Serapion - the personal favorites of Darth Apogaion; his home guard on Coruscant
  • Composition: The Night Legion utilized armor, vehicles, aircraft, weapons, and support equipment which were typical of Imperial fighting forces. The collapse of the Galactic Empire left many stockpiles of war materiel in their hands.

  • Lord of the Four Banners: Meliant

The origins of the Night Legion lay with the 551st Legion of the Galactic Empire. The 551st was founded around 902 ABY to garrison Coruscant (then-known as the Imperial Center) and protect key government installations. Recruits were regularly cycled out to frontier campaigns to ensure that the home guard were kept in fighting, elite shape.
After the Emperor, Darth Solipsis, vanished following his defeat at Atrisia, discipline among the officers of the 551st slacked. The command staff took to leveraging their positions for their personal benefit, and engaged with the Black Sun Syndicate in a variety of criminal arrangements.
This corruption eventually came to the attention of one of Meliant, a member of the Dark Side Elite at the time. At the instigating of Mercy, he took control of the 551st Legion, executing the commander and binding the colonels as his thralls. In the leadup to the Battle of Coruscant, Meliant used the 551st to assume direct control of the defense of the Federal District.
As the Dark Side Elite were considered answerable only to the Emperor, none contested Meliant's movements. This proved to be a fatal error, as Meliant - again at the instigation of Mercy - betrayed the Empire in dramatic fashion at the climax of the battle. Many leading Imperial officials were killed in the coup, among them Shannic Wulf.
