INVENTORY
- Millennium issued wristpad.
- Millennium standard issue pilot armor
- Medium sized survival knife
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Harold is a firm believer in furthering Millennium's values, and goes to great lengths to defend their interests. He treats the corporation and its people as most proud people would treat their nation or homeland: because that's what Millennium is to him, and many others. He has often been considered reckless by others, however his decisions always panned out well for him, and he therefore simply attributed his recklessness to instinct.
STRENGTHS
- Experience Pilot: Atherton fought as a pilot during Meu I's Civil War, and gathered significant experience over the course of more than 900 sorties.
- Force Sensitive: Unbeknownst to Atherton himself, and the rest of the population on the moon, Harold is force sensitive- the reason he was so effective in combat. He likely would have gone his entire life without knowing had The Lilaste Order not shown up.
- Cool Under Pressure: Harold rarely if ever buckles under pressure or stress. In fact, he thrives in it, often driving him forwards.
- Adaptable: When one plan doesn't go well, Atherton always has an easy time coming up with solutions to whatever complication arises.
WEAKNESSES
- Paranoid: Like most the population from his homeworld, paranoia was instilled into Harold from and early age. While he may not always act upon it, he frequently gets these feelings of anxiety.
- Impulsive: Since Harold's gut feelings are often correct, he tends to make many decisions based upon what he thinks the outcome will be, rather than logical ordered steps.
- Vindictive: If someone has slighted Harold, or someone he defends, he will go great lengths to achieve vengeance.
Force Powers
- Precognition: Harold possess' a weak form of precognition, manifesting itself as a gut feeling, or instinct that must be acted on immediately. This power was almost entirely unknown to Atherton for the longest time, until the arrival of The Lilaste Order.
HISTORY
Born during Meu I's Civil War, Harold Atherton had always dreamed of becoming a pilot for the Millennium Aeroplane Corps. Luckily for him, and unfortunately for many, the conflict lasted long enough for him to enlist into a non-combat role at the age of 16. He started as a basic mechanic fixing up the rare aircraft that was damaged enough to be repaired, but not enough to require replacing. After two years of working maintenance, he was finally given the opportunity to fly. Millennium had more planes than they did competent, or even volunteer pilots, and so a willing cadet was always welcomed: especially as late into the war as it was. His first few missions were basic reconnaissance, locating and marking enemy positions, providing tactical and strategic feedback, and occasionally dropping flares for illumination at night time.
One day, during a standard recon mission, his flight was hit by a surprise attack. Harold's wingman as well as 2 other planes were shot down, leaving him alone. He had only narrowly dodged the incoming interceptor planes, a stroke of luck- though he claims he had a feeling the enemy would come through the clouds, before he could even see them. Records of this event are conflicting, but it is commonly cited that Harold managed to take down 3 out of the 5 enemy aeroplanes before returning to base. After this event, Atherton was promoted to leading his own wing, and began being deployed on more combat intense missions. And the same thing happened again and again. Harold would pull off seemingly impossible feats, shooting down several enemy aircraft while dodging almost all the enemy's fire. This earned him the nickname "Lucky", though he resents it. By the time the war had ended, Harold Atherton had flown nearly 1,000 sorties, and had well over 250 confirmed air kills. As life began to simmer down on Meu I, he became a flight instructor for new pilots in the Millennium Armed Forces, that is, until The Lilaste Order arrived. Harold was present in the meeting with the Lilaste delegation due to his significance as a war hero, and the Lilaste High Commander Laphisto immediately recognized him as being force sensitive. Initially there was significant confusion on Millennium's side, before Atherton was convinced to go with Laphisto for training, to research what "The Force" was, and to improve relations between the two groups.
