OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Haran's Hounds
  • Affiliation: Mythos Fleet
  • Classification: Specialized Heavy Infantry
  • Description: Haran's Hounds are a specialized unit of Mandalorian Supercommandos who employ the aid of beasts and train to fight Force Users.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small (each unit is small, comprising a dozen members or less)
  • Unit Availability: Rare (very few, difficult to replace, may have long training times)
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment: Mandalorian Armor, Beskads, Wrist Weapons, Jetpacks, Anti-Force Weaponry (mission location dependent, including but not limited to: Sonic Weapons, Concussion Rifles, Verpine Shatterguns, Slugthrowers, Grenades, Stun Nets, and Flechette Weapons).
  • Combat Function: Haran's Hounds are often deployed into battle on cloaked shuttles or drop pods directly in response to identified Force User threats, or to seek and destroy Force User threats on the battlefield. Using small unit tactics and employing their beasts, the Hounds will attempt to isolate individual Force Users and bring them down with pack tactics. Employing millennia year old tactics, the commandos use their hounds to flush out and bring down Force Users, much like hunting for big game. Each commando typically has between one and three dogs.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
Strengths:
  • Baying Hounds: The Sukkot Force Hounds employed by the supercommandos are trained to flush out Force Using prey while working as a pack. The natural abilities of the hounds, including their ysalamiri-like fields, excel in combat against Force Users and if the supercommandos stay within the Sukkot's field then they benefit from that protection.
  • Bring Them Down: Haran's Hounds do not fight fairly and will attempt to overwhelm a single opponent through pack tactics. The distraction afforded by the hounds and the durability of the commandos in their beskar would pose an extremely dangerous challenge even for a Master of the Force.
Weaknesses:
  • Nicheslayers: The Hounds are hyper specialized and consequently will not be well-equipped to take on missions that diverge from their specialty. While their weapons would still serve them relatively well against standard infantry, they would be poorly equipped to deal with enemy armor or air assets.
  • Fighting Titans: Their prey is some of the most dangerous in the galaxy. While the Sukkot Hounds and specialized training and weapons might give the commandos an edge, Force Users - particularly those with the powers of a Sith Lord or Jedi Master - are notoriously difficult to actually take down without incurring heavy losses. And a sukkot-ysalamiri field will not protect one from a collapsing building or boulders hurled with the Force.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
After the Battle of Humbarine, the Arkanian, a former Purge Trooper, went around collecting individuals with beast handling skills, experience bounty hunting Force Users, and other veterans of wars past who had fought against or alongside Force Users in order to form an elite unit within Mythos Fleet capable of hunting down Sith and Jedi enemies. Each commando has at least one fully grown Sukkot Hound they are tasked with handling, in addition to training litters of pups to replace those who fail out of training or die. Most commandos deploy with two Sukkot Hounds, who are trained to obey commands in Mando'a and have bonds with their handlers.
