  • Average Life: 1 hour
  • Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: Side effects include uncontrollable laughter, lung damage, and death.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Uncontrollable laughter
  • Muscles spasms
  • Build up of fluid in the victim's lungs
  • Upon death, the gas leaves the victim's face in a wide smile, rigor mortis style.
DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Upon initial inhalation or injection, the mixture of laughing gas and hallucinogens initially causes the victim to laugh uncontrollably, more so than normal due to the potent effects of the hallucination.
  • The nerve agent leads to spasms as the victim loses control of their body.
  • The laughter becomes severe, to the point of damage to the trachea and upper lungs. This, coupled with the nerve agent, leads to fluid buildup and overexertion in the lungs, leading to death.
  • The nerve gas leaves the victims in a clenched state, with rigor mortis leaving the telltale smile, a glimpse into the victim's final moments as they literally laughed themselves to death.

Strengths:
  • Fast-acting agent
  • Lethal in medium-to-heavy exposure
  • Can affect large areas in gas form
Weaknesses :
  • Indiscriminate in targeting
  • Medium exposure is not immediately lethal
  • Low exposure only causes mild effects
  • In medium to low exposure, medical treatment can decontaminate the victim
DESCRIPTION
John Doe's Happy Gas is a lethal concoction of nerve agents, laughing gas, and hallucinogens. The substance's base state is a liquid, which can then be superheated and vaporized by a controlled source of energy (i.e. an explosion, vaporizers). Methods of exposure include inhalation and injection via syringe or by drinking contaminated liquids. Upon exposure, the degree and range of effects vary on a case-by-case basis. Immediate exposure through inhalation is lethal, with effects taking hold right away. Moderate to mild inhalation of Happy Gas brings about less severe symptoms, although failure to receive treatment can still lead to death or permanent damage of the respiratory tract. The agent is usually dispersed from gas canisters coupled with explosive devices, creating a fatal cloud that can range anywhere in size from a building to an entire city block. Gas masks and respirators are ineffective, as the gas can still be absorbed through the skin due to the nerve agent. A contamination or pressurized suit is the only way to protect oneself from exposure. The gas variation forms a low-lying cloud and stays within the affected area for 2-6 hours before dispersing if decontamination ventilators are not used. The liquid variation's effects do not take hold right away, leaving someone who has ingested the toxin by drinking a contaminated source a 12 to 24 hour gap to seek medical attention before symptoms take hold. Oral ingestion is fatal after the time gap has passed, as the toxin has been delivered throughout the entire body at that point. Injection of Happy Gas procures effects instantaneously, as a concentrated dosage of the toxin immediately contaminates the entire body through the bloodstream. Effects are rapid and more aggressive at that stage, causing death within a span of 2 to 5 minutes. The toxin affects all species that breathe, drink, and can absorb particles through skin.

The concoction was originally made by John Doe himself, with him imparting his knowledge to his more intelligent lackeys, such as chemists in his gang. The process of fusing together the ingredients is highly volatile, with accidental exposure an ever-present risk for those new to making the agent. The exact process of making Happy Gas is a closely-guarded secret. The drug is not sold, given away, or 'mishandled', keeping the exact composition of Happy Gas a mystery and out of the hands of law enforcement officials and powerful entities.

OOC Side Note: For PCs, the writer of said character determines how much affect Happy Gas has on them.

First things first, this is a really unique and cool idea, and I love the inspiration you have from the joker, really unique and cool.

Well let's get to the fun stuff.

For it's use on PC (Player Characters) You have to put a OOC note at the bottom or a spoiler stating the other writer get's to decide how much it actually effects them.

For the gas staying for 48 hours can you decrease it to about 2-6 hours instead of it being for 2 days.
