The Brightest Star
I haven't visited Chalacta all that often. Most of the time, I've been busy elsewhere especially in my laboratory. The life of a scientist has its advantages... and its drawbacks.Still, I remember the small Jedi enclave well enough as I make my way toward it. This time, I came aboard something neutral: a Jedi interceptor from my private collection. At least this way, I won't look completely out of place and, more importantly, I won't set off every alarm in the Temple. Because, let's be honest, showing up in the Ragnarok or in the new ship I'm currently working on would probably send a very different message.
Once my interceptor settles into the hangar, I shut down the engines and climb out of the cockpit. I'm wearing a simple black-and-gold robe. I have no intention of hiding who I am. There wouldn't be much point anyway. They already know, and even if they didn't, my presence in the Force would probably give me away. My aura is like a beacon burning in the darkness.
It's rather difficult to remain unnoticed after drinking from both pools on Mortis. Although... I really should develop some kind of device capable of suppressing my presence in the Force to whatever level I want. Now that I think about it, that might explain why I tire myself out unnecessarily. I'm basically walking around with the tap turned all the way open, all the time. I yawn lazily and pull out my thermos of coffee. Nothing like a hot drink to give me a little boost.
Today, I'm here to meet someone from the Praxeum. Needless to say, I haven't exactly dressed for a formal occasion. She's a Jedi Master from the Temple, and technically, I hold that rank as well. Considering my strength in the Force and my rather... unconventional journey, it's hardly surprising. I know the dark side and its workings far more intimately than most Jedi ever will. While I wait for her to arrive, I take out my datapad and lean against one of the Temple's columns, casually tapping away at the screen.
I'm working on a project that's particularly important to me something I know I can contribute to. I have the resources, the motivation, and the means to make it happen. So, I might as well get to work. Another lazy yawn escapes me as I stare at the schematics displayed on my datapad.
"Buaaaah... Maybe if I integrate this technology here, the X-wing could take a lot more punishment. And it definitely needs optical camouflage too..."
I confirm one of the modifications with a tap of my finger, then return to working through the notes on my personal datapad.
