Arms: The station is built with four arms stretching out from a central hub, two of these arms are designed to allow ships to dock to load and offload products while the other two are designed to allow easy access and mooring for ships, to allow them to be either built or repaired.
Secure communications: Like all facilities built for Locke and Key Mechanics, the station comes equipped with top of the range communications equipment, including the Freyja communication system and a twinned quantum entanglement communications system linking the facility to the hub at the Minerva Research facility.
Tough nut to crack: Built with the highest level of defenses the engineers at Locke and Key Mechanics could put together the station may not have a punch, but it will certainly prove to be a tough nut for any pirate or hostile group attempting to seize the station.
Name it and I’ll build it: The central spine of the station contains the Locke and Key facilities, which include a series of molecular furnaces. The manufacturing facilities built around the furnaces could take in raw materials mined from surrounding asteroid fields and use them to construct any Locke and Key product that would then be sold to merchants and traders on the station, or shipped out to customers.
Spacious: The ring surrounding the station contains living, recreational, trading and business facilities. Given the size of the station these are not cramped locations but large and spaciously built ones allowing the station to house and provide jobs for a sizable population.
Gantry: Each of the arms of the station dedicated to shipbuilding and repair can hold upto 10km of ships, to be allocated however was required.
Toothless: The space station contains no offensive armaments, no ability to do more than turtle up against enemy attacks. As powerful as it’s shell is, a sufficiently capable enemy would eventually be able to penetrate the defences of the Station.
Limited Space: With only four arms split between ship repair and building and docking ports, the station has a very limited space to use for their ships which can cause a bottleneck.
Supply Limited: Although the Argus might be a difficult nut to crack, it is heavily reliant on external supplies, both to sustain the work crew and materials for the molecular furnaces to reform into parts of the ships they're producing and adjusting.
Small Crew: Given the station's massive size, the actual crew is surprisingly small, relying heavily on automation and droids to do the majority of the work.
The second major station constructed by Locke and Key Mechanics after Argus Station, Halo Station was designed as a different beast from the massive manufacturing power of Argus Station. Halo was equal parts manufacturing plant and trade hub, designed to allow Locke and Key Mechanics to spread their influence through the Confederacy of Independant Systems and the Outer Rim Coalition.
Halo Station was designed to maximise space while providing a space station that could do a little of everything, trade, manufacture, repair and storage. A solid addition to Locke and Key’s expanding locations.
