Intent: To create a bomber craft for the Asahian fleet capable of engaging enemy ships or emplacements.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Tanaka Orbital Shipyards
Model: Hagewashi-class Bomber
Affiliation: Asahi
Modularity: None (though bomb types can be swapped out)
Production: Mass
Material: Durasteel, Transparisteel, and other starfighter construction materials.
Description: The Hagewashi-class was designed and modeled after known bomber type craft to engage enemy ships and emplacements effectively.

The Hagewashi features a nose mounted repeating laser designed for use against enemy fighters or ground emplacements. It also features a second repeater mounted aft for use by the tail gunner in order to dissuade tailing fighters and interceptors. However, the bomber's main weapon is the bomb bay holding eight warheads of variable type. This allows the Hagewashi to effectively attack and bomb enemy ships and emplacements to the best of its ability.

However, the bomber has its faults. The Hagewashi is slow and cumbersome making it easy prey for enemy fighters. The armor and tail gunner help alleviate this issue to an extent, but the craft is still vulnerable to experienced pilots and craft. The bomber also features no shields and relies on its armor for direct protection. The general recommendation is to have these bombers escorted by Taka or Iguru class fighters.

Classification: Bomber

Armaments:
  • 1 Repeating Laser (Mounted on the nose)
  • 1 Repeating Laser (Mounted behind the cockpit for the tailgunner)
  • Bomb Bay capable of carrying 8 bombs
Hangar: N/A
Non-Combative Attachments:

  • Standard Sensor Array
  • Standard Targeting Systems
Passenger Capacity: N/A
Cargo Capacity: None aside from bombs and personal effects.
Consumables: 2 weeks supply (per person)

So does this mean that the bomber can't use missiles, and is it lacking in shields like the taka? None are mentioned in the non-combat section and it looks like a sister ship/variant.
