Hacking into a life.

Pulling into the Starport of the lower city. My Templar Class light freighter, Carrick's sword, touched down on the pad. I had a break from my training as an apprentice and now that I was a Templar Knight, I decided to take a leave from the CIS airspace. Moving to courscant, The planet where I had first made contact with a complete city and civilization other than the Sith that I had met on the abandoned planet what seemed to be almost a year ago.

I had worked for the Fel and the Imperial knights. I was so close to becoming on of them, when suddenly they left and it was as though they vanished into thin air. Now being months later, I decided that I would explore my past. I had spent years wondering who my parents were. if I even had a family. I wanted the truth. Everything so far had been a dead end. I would find a name of Carrick, and see that they were long gone. Even then, it only mentioned that of a young Jedi that was "killed" when later reports said that he was spotted later on? it sent confusion in my mind.

I dressed myself to match that of the area Wearing my Templar armor, the robed version, to match that of a young man that was not wanted to be messed with. I had two lightsabers on my belt, and a S-1 Blaster pistol on my hip. What I needed was some help. Before I had even been able to enter the planet I was asked to stop my ship off on a floating platform and was question if I was this person called "Veil" Known for hacking, I knew who I had to look for. Only if I could hack myself.

Walking out of the ship, K, my companion droid, was researching the different times and places that this character Veil had strike and taken money. All that was really know what that this person was good. So much so that even the government was having trouble with him. I only hoped that I could find whoever they were before the Courscant government.

While doing her daily browse of the Courascant community, seeing what crimes were active and which criminals she'd help to deal with in the future, Veil had found someone was trying to hack into her serves and find her. She smirked as this was not the first time, so often did she have hounds sniffing out her trail to find her rabbit hole of a home and bring her back as a trophy to their masters. This rabbit however knew how to cover her tracks. The first thing she did was find the source thanks to a number of programs that basically re-hacked the serve that was trying to find her. After seeing the location she sliced into the nearby cameras of the area and could see for herself. She was a bit surprised to see it was some official warrior type like a Jedi. Or at least she assumed he was Jedi by the sabers he had. Still it was best to adress him first before anything else.

After cutting down his attempt to hack her Veil worked her way into the datapad his droid was carrying. It left a typed out message saying [Looking for me? Come and find me two blocks away.]

I walked out of the ramp and was reaching for the door when K yelled over to me, "I found something? well more like they found us." with a datapad in her hand, she was already moving towards me down the ramp. I pulled up my hood to hide my blond hair, and hide more of my pointy ears. I walked up nodding my head and not saying a word. she continued. "Got a message from Veil saying that you can find them two blocks away. What do you want me to do?" I took the datapad and read the message. I smiled under my hood. Looking around, I found the security camera. looking up into it's lens, I nodded my head once. Still looking at it as I spoke, "Tell whoever they are that I am coming. and keep me in the loop should they sent any more directions."

I lowered my head and walked out of the port and started to cross through he rooms that would lead out to the lower city. Once outside I simply looked up to another camera, I shrugged my shoulders, as this Veil character did not tell me in which direction was I to go two blocks over. A woman walked past me with a weird look, I shooed her off with a wave of my hand saying to not bother me. The woman shook her head and moved on. Whispering to myself, "Come on Veil, your move."

Nearby was one of those self-playing transmissions for a number of different products to sell. That was what Veil used to talk to@[member="Xander Carrick"]. After hacking into it a face appeared, a cyber face that when it spoke had no distinct gender. It was neither male or female to help hide the identity. It looked like a series of statics and binary that were fused together to make a face that looked at Xander while his back was to it.

{Over here, Mr. Carrick.} It said to get his attention. {There we are. Now if you're looking for me you have just one chance to explain why. Otherwise this conversation is over and you'll never so much as hear my name again.}

I smiled as the Selling stand activated next to me. it showed that she was letting me know more and more. it showed that she had some control of the city itself. Meaning that she was in deep. Deep enough to see just about everything. Calling my last name.I turned to the vendor sign. I smiled, her question that of what I wanted. "There are many things I want, which most of them with not come to pass, but what I do lust after, is that of my family." The hood was not really concealing my face from this person, but others around me, she knew who I was, and could probably search deeper if she wanted. Which is what I wanted to do.

"I have no past to think of, and that is what I wish for. Knowledge, and a past. You of all people seem to have both." I turned to look around me, seeing a police speeder pass by, knowing that they are looking for Veil, She, or he may not trust me, "I don't trust you any more than I can see you now, but if we were to meet, I'm sure that you could easily hide once more. Even more so more than I ever could."

{Yeah. Not happening. One of the reasons I've stayed under the radar as long as I have is from not taking house calls.} It was clear Veil wasn't the type to bargain for these types of things and rightly so. {But this does interest me about you wanting to find out more about yourself. I just knew who you were by a face recognition. Tagged you right as you got off your ship in fact. But as charitable as I am, I need to ask. What's in it for me if I help you? And why haven't you been able ti find anything on your own?}

I nodded my head as she said that she was not up to it. Even as they stopped, I was going to speak, but it came to me again. Saying that she was interested. and wondering to why I could not find anything else. "I had looked when I was just and apprentice, but could never get past anybody. I left the trail to climb up the totem poll and then try later on. Now that I have, I want to look more. And Courscant was where I got my best searches. hence why I came back."

I left a pause to let it sink in. "hearing about the Government not being able to get you, and even now you are deep into the cities infrastructure, Which tells me that you are good. To good for yourself. You could do anything and everything, yet all you do is steal and give to the poor. What I am doing is not so different. Instead of money, you are giving me knowledge." I held up a finger, knowing that somehow that she could see it. my index finger saying to wait a second, "I'll make it better, if you help me, I'll be out of your hair after I find what I am looking for. No tracking, no snitching, nothing of the like."

Hearing his offer the face almost chuckled before saying {Like I would have to worry about you finding me at all. Even if you did blad to somebody it's not like they'd believe you. I mean you're talking to a commercial poster after all. But, tell you what, you seem to be really upset about this whole finding out about yourself so I'll help. But it's going to be a bit tricky. There's an ATM nearby you'll need to put some sort of storage device or something into. Once you do that I'll put a program in that will allow me to go where you go. I'll be able to hack into whatever you find for me to look into. Sound good?}

The distorted voice broke out once more. Saying that there was no way for me to tell her. Eh that was true, but I could still give the message that she sent me to the government, whcih she may have already deleted the sending codes. and possibly the datapad's message as well. I shook my head. I dug into my pocket and clicked on a thumbpad. I heard a roar of an engine and in a few seconds my Speeder was rumbling right next to me. I Pulled out a small holopad, about the size of my palm, and nodded my head, "Give me the concordance and we can begin working, but could I hear your real voice instead of this crappy two bit voice distorter you are using?" From my pockets once more I pulled out an ear piece, setting it into my ear, I would use it to communicate with Veil. But with a real voice hopefully. because well, how would you feel if you felt like you were talking to a drone?

{Right around the block. Not five minutes away.} She answered first in answer for the coordinates. After that when he asked about hearing her voice she felt it was fine enough and said {Put the earpiece on first.} Once he did her voice came in more clear and sounding like an actual girls. "There. That better?" she asked while waiting until he reached the ATM.

I smiled and chuckled lightly. Hearing HER voice. I had partly expected a man, but in this galaxy, anything can happen. "Much so." I revved the engine with the throttle and let myself be propelled forwards at 250km/hour. She said that it would take about five minutes, really it would only take two.

Two minutes later I reached the cordnance that had been given to me. I plugged in the device to the ATM. "Connected, Ready when you are."

"Right then." she said once he confirmed they were plugged in. A moment later everything was downloaded into the datapad and they were set. "We're good." she said, letting him take the datapad. "First thing's first. What's one place you remember from your past? Anything at all? We need somewhere decent to start from without wandering around like a headless lizard-monkey."

I smiled and shook my head. "The only thing that I was connected to was a Ship where I was put on a feeding tube and in stasis for a very long time. I have already tried to go through the ships database, and can find nothing. The ship is so old that it barely has a navigation system." I then looked around and realized something. Smiling I shoot of from where I came. Coming back and stopping once inside my ramp. K walked up to me, and I motioned for her to stop, when she did, I plugged the device into the back of her chest piece. "hey what are you doi- Whoa what is that? Wait donnnnnn" I shut k off and spoke into he com link. "Get all the info you can."

"Wait, from your droid?" She thought on it for a sec before saying "Alright. First time I've ever been in a woman, let alone a robo-woman." As she made her way through what databases she could Veil said "Hmmm. Not really seeing much. But here's a nifty feature." She punched in more commands before the droid re-activated itself. Only now when it spoke it spoke with Veil's voice. "Ta-da!" she said through K now.

I shook my head. I thought that maybe with the way that the droid was programed that it still had it's lost files. but to no avail. I chuckled as the voice of Veil came out of K. "Well I never expected to have a pretty voice for my droid that's called K1-LLR." K shook her head and then moved on to the other side of the ship. I went and moved back to my speeder. "How about you look up my last name on all record databases? it could narrow the search down to something to where I can look for."

Finding a reflective surface for a moment to see how she looked Veil-K said "Damn. No wonder you like having this thing around." before he asked about last names as such. "Hang on. I'm more adapted into this things systems so I can access them better." It took her a few moments before coming up with "Does Monroe, Dalben or Kestig mean anything to you? Those are the only names I could find among these files."

I shook my head as clearly the woman was no win control of my companion. Saying that there was a reason that I kept her around, "yeah, thats because she trained me before I became an Imperial Knight. No, those names don't ring a bell." I walked over to the droid and moving her head to face me, "I'd rather you not inside my droids body too long." I let the droid go and took a step back, "Anything else you have in there?"

"Nope. Nothing. But so help me, I will pay to rent this metallic baby out and have her do a little dance for me if it comes to it." After that she exited the program back into the datapad and spoke with him via the commlink now. "Ever the party killer you are." she commented having to leave the robo-body.

I shook my head as her voice came to my ear again. Leaving the metallic body of the droid. "I like my possessions." I walked over to my bike and started to leave again. "This time, look in more places than one.....Please." I then took off towards to possibly where a second place may be.

"Hey, you're the one who came to me, remember? I can't help it if there's nothing on you. I mean for all you know maybe that was your life. You were just grown in a jar and then left to go out into the world doing whatever you felt like. Either that or they have a secret code in your head that switches on and off. That be so wicked.....not for you I mean."
