Description:
A meld of older technology from imperial archives, The H-2 Imperial Assault Tank is a sleek modern design. The tank is a step up for mechanized infantry and calvary units and intended primarily as a supplement to Crinan Marines and Stromtrooper battalions. Though the tank is a mass produced mobile unit the requirements for staffing as well as batallion sizes will only support a limited number of tanks to be fielded in any one engagement outside of a capital or production city. Most remaining tanks would be housed in storage facilities until needed.
Like older models of imperial tanks the H-2 is shielded and is capable of working independently on a battlefield if a comunications are lost. The main turret is a concussion cannon capable of causing heavy damage to armored units and dense infantry if properly aimed. The rear facing repeaters are primarily for anti personnel and have little effect on shielded armored units. The reactive armor works to reduce the damage of armor piercing weapons if the shields fail and can save a crew from an initial hull breach however a second shot in the same location would spell disaster for the crew if not the entire tank.
The remaining features include thermal imaging for night operations, pressurized hull for various gravities and environments including lack of atmosphere, subspace radio for short range communication, climate control and encrypted communication suite for battle coordination.
Strengths:
Durable shields and hull make it tough for infantry to destroy
Strong forward facing Armament
Weaknesses:
Rear of the tank is under defended
Slow turning makes it easily targeted when turning
No Anti-air defense other than shields
