Guns Take 2, Long Barrel

Did Someone Order a War?
In the bowls of Byss, because it sounded cool at the time.

Another attempt was made to create a mass driver to mirror the many around the galaxy used on tanks and various other vehicles. This one was to be designed to maximize punching power above all else to get through other heavy tanks armor, pure armor piercing this time was the initial brief. Again technicians had assembled, and again engineers far and wide went to work on the problems posed to brace the mass driver to a tank, certainly it had been done before and would be again.

Pure AP but there was something else to consider. What was special about this gun then, well it was for tank destroyer. Which Sere had rarely seen done, something to keep low and out of sight. New guns to design, made for fun times for our hybrid, it had to offer some stealth options as well as pack a punch, else the often thinner tank destroyers armor was as good as toast when it was spotted.

Standing there, tail swishing side to side, crates of spice ordered, she sat atop one awaiting for her minions and engineers to assemble.

Byss Never Looked so Good, than one step away from the hangmans noose. After the summary execution of her engineering team from the last project, our slussi hybrid was more careful with the selection for this one.

Tension across the face of those engineers as they arrived, getting a thorough briefing about the situation, naval engineers from the OS mixed in with her FFE techs, but none would be spared the firing squad for failure. The OS would not tolerate another non functional weapon from her, she had been told as much. Having to watch sections of the 5th Armies command and control facility ripped down because of her failure to properly account for recoil was not received well! Though she'd made several well received designs, that one had cost them a few million if not 10's of millions of credits at least. Taken out of her next paycheck! Paychecks that wouldn't be used to buy spice, or more guns any time soon, sad overdramatic miniature violins played somewhere in their distance.

Such was the risks of dealing with the devil, all decided in the final bodycount!

So having picked thirty of the best and brightest, or dumbest enough to stick around as they plunged headfirst into the eternal snake filled abyss that was Sere Reene's coiled tongues hiss.... we began.
