STRENGTHS
  • Sentience - The Gunnr-series Gynoid possesses an extremely advanced Artificial Intelligence, matching that of a high IQ organic being. A Gunnr unit is able to learn new skills and techniques, and is even capable of emotion if so desired.
  • Adaptability - Due to it's sentience programming and capability for learning, the Gunnr-series is equipped to preform multiple useful duties, such as acting as a Protocol or Servant Droid, being fully equipped to handle the needs and desires of it's owner, as well as full assassination and combat programming should it's owner desire a rival taken care of, or if they need an unassuming bodyguard.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sentience - It's sentience, while extremely impressive, can also prove to be disadvantageous. It's very likely a Gunnr-series unit might desert it's "owner" if made to desire a life of it's own or if it were treated poorly. As such, one must treat a Gunnr unit with appropriate respect and affection, or they might not have it for very long.
  • Vulnerable to Ion Weapons - The advanced designs of the Gunnr-series, while impressive, are extremely vulnerable to ion weapons. Such can disable a Gunnr unit rather easily, and will likely cause temporary impairment of their cognitive abilities.
DESCRIPTION
In defiance of galactic attitudes about "sentient" droids, Saryn had longed to create true synthetic intelligence for many years. Initial work started on the project when Saryn came into the service of Darth Carnifex and the Kainate, where initial prototypes were developed and tested. Over the course of many mixed successful and unsuccessful designs, the first fully functional Gynoid, affectionately named and modelled after the appearance of Saryn's wife Gunnr, had finally been created. This unit has since served as Saryn's personal bodyguard and servant faithfully.

Future units were created using the same design, albeit at a slow pace due to the complexity of their manufacture. They are often gifted as servants and bodyguards to high ranking Trade League executives and Sith, under the stipulation they be treated as full, paid employees, with all the rights and privileges such entails. After all, Saryn didn't want his most prized creations mistreated.

Gunnr-series Gynoids can have their appearances tailored to the wishes of those they are assigned to. Some units are even given synthskin and are made to appear fully organic. Some have also had their heads modified so they appear to be mechanical twi'leks, with fully moving fake lekku.
