Guardians of the Azure Skies

He seemed puzzled at what [member="Shiro"] was saying and eventually he raised a brow, "Your trainer took the step of shooting you? Did you refer to training to use the Force, or something else?"

While he was only skilled in piloting and more physical martial arts, Torvas had never had that experience, that was for sure, and he always assumed that his training regimen had been just about as rough as it got.

With a raised brow, he turned back toward [member="Shiro"] once again. "You mean that they actually shot at you just so you could practice dodging the shots or something? I wish that they had been that rough on me! I understood that was standard at one point in history when training TIE Fighter pilots."

Shiro thought about his question and shook his head. "No. They were like stun shots. Completely safe and made of energy." he explained before stopping his fluttering.

"Ah, at times I wonder how much better of pilots we would be if we were shot at by way of live ammunition. It was said that at one point, TIE Fighter pilots were actually dropped straight into live combat."

Torvas' words to [member="Shiro"] seemed to indicate that he had actually genuinely thought that was a good idea to try out.

For what it was worth, he tended to be an interesting individual to say the least.

"Hmm I see. But maybe there are other ways that might be more productive and that might guarantee you'll live." he said. "Simulation is one way, but that's not a choice for me. Controls and wings are two different things, yes?" he said as he thought aloud.

Nodding toward [member="Shiro"] he started to wag his tail a bit, "I just am in awe of the way you were able to learn to fly, personally, anyway. I could only hope to match that. From behind the controls of a cloud car or my spaceship or even feeling the wind through my fur as I rushed around on a speeder bike...none of these are even close to the feeling you must have."

He then exhaled, "Though I still insist that if you had any threat of dying, you would be that much more likely to live since you would have to play up to the challenge."

Shiro laughed and gave the wolf man a reply. "Haha. I'm glad I'm unique, but I suppose it has its downfalls." He then remembered something. A bounty had been put up in the net earlier. He wanted to claim the reward but he got lost.

"I'm sorry. I just remembered I forgot to do something." he paused to breathe. "Please excuse me. I've had a good time during our chat."

"Uh, no worries at all. I am sure that if you ever need to avail me of my services, you can find me around here in Cloud City from time to time." Torvas nodded to [member="Shiro"], having certainly told the truth with that bit. "Perhaps I will see you again sometime. That might be for the best." He never knew, of course, when he might cross paths with someone like this again, but he certainly wasn't going to forget about him any time soon.

"Sure." he said smiling. He would turn around at this point facing the opposite direction. "I'm positive we will meet again. I plan on coming back here in the next year after my work is done. Until then, I'll see you around." he said calmly. He then grinned and flapped his wings slowly.

Shiro jumped up and flapped his wings once really hard. The one flap sent him up 10 feet in the air. He would wave as he made his way back to his ship.
