Gorenger Pt.3 (Thayne)

Rory the wookiee stood there in the small group that had come. A favor to his friend and rescuer when he was taken to the floating slavers ship. She had infiltrated the Atrisian gang working as one of the enforcers and given him the means to escape after he had seen her working and healing one of the slaves that was hurt. Now after these years she was asking him to help and give a chance for him, which had let him bring some engineers. She would and did always come back to help him as time went on and they were moving before she had called this. Though now when he arrived and saw the building and what they were dragging a grin was on his face while he was hugging the small woman before taking a seat. "Thank you for coming my friend and bringing the honorable Rowashiraa and his engineers. This is republic officer Dallen Thayne a friend."

The arrival of the wookiee engineers did not escape Dallen's notice, leaving the Republic Officer in some awe, though he did his best to keep his expression neutral. Wookiee's craft works were some of the most amazing and elegant designs around, and part of the reason he so wanted Kashyyyk's shipwright to start up again once more and bring new work to the field. The new group appeared to be quite excited over what they saw was going on with the newly completed warehouse it seemed, as one of the wookiees stepped forward to embrace the Jedi Master, who appeared to know the tall alien hugging her. Surprisingly she also mentioned the Republic Commander as a friend as well, a bit flattering considering as Dallen stepped forward. "It is an honor to meet you all, on behalf of the Republic I apologize for the recent hardships and sincerely offer our support in the cleanup operations being started here."

The wookiee's and Rory were looking at the officer who spoke and roared patting their chests in thanks. They were after all glad the world had only been lost to the sith for a short time before the Republic came back and helped them. A look over things and they were happy to see some of the work was getting done and clean up efforts once the power was on started. THe one elder spoke about how they were doing a service removing all the foreign machines from Kashyyyk and Matsu spoke. "We will try, there is a lot on the world but we will search high and low for everything and welcome your engineers to work with the team here. They'll be able to contact us should anything happen or need me to come in and serve as a back channel to the republic in case of emergency."

To be honest, as much as the Silver Jedi were doing a lot of work here and between them and the Republic plenty of efforts were being made to clear out the remains of the battles, they were woefully unprepared to do so in some regards. In many ways what they needed to do was show the wookiees they would be better protected from now on. The wookiees themselves were the best equipped to deal with the cleanup though. THey knew their world best, and could find debris and scrap that the Republic's Droids would end up missing undoubtedly. That was likely why the Jedi Master Matsu had put out a call for the wookiees support, knowing that in mind. "We will also need them for their knowledge of the area. They'll be able to look over locations we either can't find, access, or don't have permission to go near for whatever reasons their people have and we should respect that. Still, we can do most of the heavy lifting if they show us the way, its the least we can do."

"Officer Thayne is correct, this is an effort that we'll spearhead and work to do everything but there is no one who knows the world better." The roars of agreement came, Rory watched it while the chieftain sat there and looked at both of them. Rory could feel it more as a sense of them working to find all the things buried deep in the shadowlands and there were secrets there. There were dangerous things one could face and deal with as he watched some of them seeing Matsu bow her head and smile. "Thank you and I will do my best to honor your trust, Perhaps some of our agricultural corps can work on the sections of the world. They might not be able to restore the trees but they'll work to restore the trust and faith in people."

Things appeared to be looking up, of course no one here was arguing or disagreeable towards each other, but that hadn't meant the problem didn't need to be addressed for later. After all, the wookiees wouldn't necessarily be pleased allowing off worlders to wander their forests freely. Especially after they had just gone through what they had at the hands of the Sith and the Republic hadn't been able to mitigate the damage. Hopefully participating in the cleanup like this would bring everyone a step closer towards repairing the harm. Still, cleaning up the mess left behind and replanting trees wouldn't solve everything. The wookiees needed time, and to see the Republic secure a victory, to know they wouldn't be harmed again. "It will certainly be a start, and the Republic will need to show they can keep people safe, so the wookiees will feel protected again."

Doreen was sitting there and listening as she nodded in agreement, this wouldn't solve all the problems but there was many things they could agree on at a table setting things up. She was glad to see Matsu and the Republic officer with them. Her datapad was showing several things they were working on while she brought it towards Matsu and the jedi spoke. "Yes making them feel protected again will help but we have seen what happens with soem of the restoration efforts. The republic when it tried to help several worlds just abandoned the projects and left half done things. We will need to do as much as we are willing and then do extra."

"Wasn't that why I said this was a start. Just restoring the damage isn't enough. The Wookiees, and no one for that matter, will respect or believe in the Republic if all it can do is repair the damage to these worlds. The Republic needs to be able to prevent the level of destruction the Sith bring, or at the very least make them pay for it by emerging victorious in these battles. Telos and Taris are fine examples of the Republic's failures in history. Even if the government disappears and changes people will always put the Republics together, especially those on a losing streak. There simply needs to be an effort on the Republic Military's part to stab into the heart of Sith territory and show the people the Republic has the strength to defeat these monsters and win in such a way that people welcome the Republic for its lack of collateral damage caused by its soldiers." Speaking as he shoved up his glasses, Dallen continued his observations for the report of the work. By now he felt his part in the work was coming to an end, but it had been a pleasant experience. He was quite pleased with the efforts and liked them as a start to repairing all the harm done in these wars.

Rory and Doreen were both in agreement with the man and Matsu looked at the officer as they all stood up. "I think we have an accord then." The chieftain and her both held their hands out and clasped at the forearm before moving back and getting to the ready. Doreen watched Matsu leading him inside to look and see the things while she looked to the officer and bowed. "I believe we have all the pieces in place." She smiled and was leading the way while the rest of the wookiees were going through the doorways with roars seeing the operations. "If we could just solidify our small constract officer Thayne it should be all good."

Yes, they had an accord. Dallen would watch as the Jedi Master of the Silver Order exchanged a hand shake, if one could call it that as the wookiees arm engulfed Matsu's own as they clasped around each other's forearm, wondering as to if they could really back up their words today in the end. Certainly the Silver Jedi's salvage operation and any help the Republic could give to the cleanup would undoubtedly show solid effort and progress. It was more his own pseudo promise that the Republic would achieve a victory to show the galaxy they still had hope and reason to keep their faith in them. The Republic Commander's focus was broken as he bowed back to the other woman who had been present, speaking about the contract that needed official signing. "After everything I've seen and considering how much we owe this planet I see no reason for the Republic not to have some small part in this work. I will sign whatever is needed."
