PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Golden Eyes is shy when approaching new people, but whenever he finds someone he is able to communicate with well he really comes out of his shell.
His demeanor and facial features help him look a little bit older than he really is, and he uses this to his advantage whenever he can, trying to hide how naïve he is.
He fears that he could become a dangerous burden to others, so avoids making friendships. But this makes him incredibly lonely.
STRENGTHS
- Dexterity - he uses his hands and body to communicate so he is exceptionally skilled at using his hands to perform tasks others might struggle with.
- Observant - his eyes are always scanning his surroundings so that he can see as much information as he needs to stay attuned to the environment.
- Empathy - he is always attentive of other’s struggles and understands their feelings through visual cues.
- Communication - his deafness makes it difficult to communicate with other beings easily.
- Ambush - it is very easy to approach him from behind without him noticing, he can also get a little jumpy if he hasn’t seen someone before they tap him on the shoulder.
- Loud - he is unaware of how loud he is when he’s doing actions that make sounds, simple things like trying to sneak around can still be loud.
- Innocence - he is still quite young and doesn’t fully understand the state of the galaxy.
- Not a fighter - he would lose against anyone.
When his family realised the extent of his deafness, they abandoned him outside a Jedi Temple, assuming the Jedi would find it in their good graces to raise an innocent child even if his own family rejected him. While the Jedi did raise him, they were never fully able to determine whether he was capable of harnessing the Force.
They worked with him to develop a signed language to help him communicate with other beings, but not everyone at the Temple learnt how to sign back to him. One of the other younglings that he grew up with was the first to learn the signed language with him, and she named him after his most striking feature: his golden eyes. Up until then he had just been referred to as “the Pantoran child.”
As he wasn’t trained as a Jedi, he was sent to work in the Agricultural Service Corps to help communities in need all over the galaxy. After a while of doing this, he wanted more. He wanted to be able see all that the galaxy had to offer instead of just endless farms. So he left to go find a new life for himself.
