Intent: To create an armor that was crafted specifically for a single person to serve as both life support and replacement body parts while affording some protection for the wearer from the elements and other threats.
Development Thread: Thread of Origin: The Dread Blades
Manufacturer: The Believers
Model: None
Affiliation: Kamon Vondiranach
Modularity: None
Production: Unique
Material: Made of a Desh, titanium and terenthium alloy, making it resistant to munitions, but not impervious to them.
Description:
The original intent of this armor was to create a protective suit for Kamon. During his torture and modification at the hands of The Believers cult he lost his left arm and both of his legs just above the knee. Since their intent was to create a weapon that they could manipulate, they began to fashion armor specifically suited to those ends. Chief amongst them were robotic parts that were crafted to give him back his mobility.
However, the armor had to be both durable and functional, so the Desh and Terenthium alloy that saw use in light-weight, durable craft in previous days was combined with titanium to make a new, stronger alloy capable of withstanding modern day weaponry while also being lightweight to allow Kamon to make use of his combat abilities. Several functions were added to the armor, including rear modules for use by a Force User (described below) and the ability for the armor to be removed from non-essential areas (it can be removed everywhere but his legs from the thigh down and his left arm) in parts. This allows him to remove, say, just the gauntlet over his right arm if he wants to.
Designed for speed and maneuverability, while providing life support and defense, the system is not without its weaknesses. Chief amongst them is an aversion to electricity. Due to the machine parts, legs and arms, a good blast of an EMP essentially makes Kamon immobile. In addition, it is not rated for extreme cold or extreme heat, and can melt or freeze solid in certain environments, which makes some worlds off limits to him. The metal alloy that the suit is designed of is not impervious to lightsabers or energy blades, making it no defense against them so he must react as he would without the armor on.
It's not something that he really ever needs to take off under the circumstances. It's akin to Darth Vader's suit in that sense, though he chooses to take it off from time to time so he can breath fresh air without the helm filtering it. He doesn't take off the gauntlet or the chest piece very often, though, because he has chosen not to feel anything anymore. The more he stays inside the suit, the less he has to feel what's around him.
Classification: Multipurpose
Weight: 12kg
Quality: 6
Special Features:
Rear Modules: The rear of the chest plate is deeper than is necessary. This is due to the installation of several small tubes that are full of small metal disc blades. These blades are not attached to any firing mechanism, and can only be released by someone using the Force. They are not specially designed weapons that can fly on their own, they must be controlled through the air by Kamon's connection to the Force, and though they are made of the same material as the suit, they cannot cut through most armors and are most effective against unarmored targets.
Right Arm Module: The right arm gauntlet is thicker, approximately 3.81 cm (1.5 inches) deep and extending from 2.54cm (1 inch) above the wrist to the same dimension below the elbow, to provide a compartment for whatever Kamon wishes to put inside of it. Could be anything from personal effects to packing it full of explosives so he can remove the gauntlet and use it as a bomb.
Helmet: The helmet is equipped with thermal, infrared, night vision, air processing unit (to filter air), comlink, and vocal amplification to allow the wearer to converse in person.
Left and Right Legs: Two hollowed out operational compartments for storing his lightsabers when he doesn't wish to wear them visibly.
General: Biological processing systems (takes care of his need to use the restroom, as it were), internal temperature regulation systems to keep him cool or warm as needed, and internal diagnostics which feed his biometrics to the lenses of his helmet.
