Going on A dragon hunt

She could feel it and nodding with her masters orders while reaching out to the mind of the creature as she was reaching to pull thoughts from it. Get a feel for the emotions of the creature while she was working on it. She followed her masters instructions going into the creatures mind and wanting it to be tired as she closed her eyes and heard something. A snort and squeal before more of them were coming. The chorus startled her out of the focused trance as she saw the small pigs had inflated. The first from her in its mind and poorly working to control it and the others because one pushed them and a cascade while they were bouncing and rolling. Elphaba wanted to stand and tiptoe to the side in embarrassment.

Corvus smiled. Padawans that thought success inevitable were half-way there. But a Jedi also considered and planned for failure. This made them work hard and not become disheartened with a set-back.

Corvus reached out to the pigs that had reacted so negatively. She shared calming thoughts, as she'd been instructed by Obi-Wan's Holocron. She sent images of being sleepy and fully fed. Of warmth and safety. As one they deflated and were relaxed.

"A good start," Corvus said, honestly. "Now do the same again and believe in yourself. Do or do not...remember?" And she smiled warmly.

She looked at her master while focusing on the pig, it was settling down but still scared as the large things just seemed bigger like a giant balloon as she touched it looking at her master as an idea came to her mind and she bounced the pig up a little passing it to her master to bonk her softly on the head if she didn't stop it as the head of the pig was moving around looking at all of them. She was looking at the other pigs thereas she worked to try and focus on them to allow them to clm down and fall asleep. The padawan was working while she could feel their minds allowin the force energies to go outwards.

Corvus was pleased with Elphaba's progression, but had forgotten her Padawan's playful manner. She was sure the pig bouncing on her head was intentional and light-hearted - but she could be wrong about the former.

"Calm. Focus. Use the Force." Her words were calming and soothing. Her voice barely above a whisper but seemed to carry for some distance. Even the pigs seemed less stressed.

"You can do it. You will succeed. Believe."

She had to agree listenign to her master and letting the soothing part of it come to her. The padawan was breathign in and out while focusing the force energies to work and keep herself just as calm as she wanted the pigs to be. Touching the creatures mind while she went back to crouching down. She moved her feet digging the boots into the dirt while the sounds of the preserve and nature came all around them. "Yes master." The smile stayed there wanting to be good nature for some of the fun they could have here with some of these creatures. It was all a very nice thing before she focused with the force energy to get the one to calm as it snorted and was nuzzling her hand.
