Glassed Planets DON'T Have Bad Records (R1 Adventure)

Cale scoffed at the Mandolorian, he'd been at Ossus when the One Sith had taken it, fought a Jedi Master in the air to the ground until both were left but nothing but their fists. A Mandolorian didn't strike fear into the man's heart, but he admitted he admired her and her culture's bravado. He also took notice that she was more attuned to the force than she let on, but he said nothing, he of all people knew what it was like to not want to have any questions asked. "The plan is unknown at this point, beings make plans and the force laughs. However," He trailed off brandishing a datapad and scrolling through the contents.

With a click of a button, a holographic projection of the Imperial base illuminated the area. Obviously the base was damaged, the primary shuttle pad was decimated and there was heavy infrastructure damage from what the pad had told him was a Rebel attack during the Galactic Civil War, though despite 800 years of rain the base had not weathered at all, Imperial architecture was sturdy if nothing else. "according to the data provided, the base was abandoned after a rebel attack and some sort of internal incident, and is likely abandoned spare a few security droids. In addition the primary landing pad for shuttles was destroyed, however the hangar for the local TIE squadron is still intact, that will be our insertion point." He stated, pointing to the likely empty hangar.

"Also, our client has only now informed us that it plausible that we may be tracked by the Imperial Remnant, as they may have interest in...whatever it is we're after."

"Sounds easy enough." the Rogue commented, "Walk into an abandoned base, take care of.a couple droids, see what we can, walk out." Even as the words left tbe man's mouth, he began to get the nagging feeling kn the back of his mind that something would go wrong somewhere down the line. For now he pushed the thought away, hoping he hadn't just jinxed them.

Xiarr had to give a laugh when Cale mentioned they might have been being tracked by the Imperial Remnant. "I doubt the remnant is tracking us, and if even if they were they are still weak, just a bunch of fools that worship Palpatine." He knew what he said was likely true, as the Imperial Remnant didn't have many resources to spare. "Anyway, what type of droids might be still in the base? They could be designed to kill force users for all we know." Xiarr didn't want to overestimate their odds, as they were given barely any information about the mission, and it all seemed too easy, just walking into an abandoned base and grabbing something of value is never easy, these employers were clearly keeping some vital information to them themselves for some reason. Did they want their employees to die?

Most of their little band seemed to have come to a similar conclusion, this was an easy in and easy out, no need to complicate it. However, he could sense all of them felt the slightest bit uneasy, as if it all seemed too good to be true. When Xiarr spoke about the Remnant Cale couldn't help but shake his head with the faintest of smiles, he remembered being that way, dismissive of enemies and sure of himself and the power of the force. "Be they worshipers of a long dead Sith Lord's government or a band of ewoks, a Star Destroyer is still a Star Destroyer. And as to the droids it looks like the K2 series security droid, but who knows they could be inactive after centuries." He said to the Knight, tapping the datapad and changing the projection to an image of a K2 droid.

Somewhere in the galaxy however, one [member="Desmond C'artyom"] was given information on the wherabouts of Erso's research by his superiors. And he would be asked to retrieve them at any costs.

"Whatever happens, we'll deal with it. For now, we have our entry and exit. Do we have any clue as to where these plans are?" the Rogue asked. The more they knew the better. The fewer surprises, the more likely they were to make it out alive.

"That guy's right", said the Mando'a simply as she gave [member="Cale Gunderson"] a nod. "Underestimating your ennemy is a foolish move, that can, and will, certainly leave you to a painful death."
She smirked from behind her helmet. To her eyes, [member="Dax Fyre"] and [member="Xiarr Sair"] weren't ready for this mission - because they showed little tactical awareness, at least from her point of view. The other force user, however, seemed to be slightly smarter. Shaking her head, she didn't voice her concerns, concentrating on maintaining a mental barrier forged in her cold determination, just in case of one of the three passengers tried anything even remotely close to mind-probing. Sighing, she turned around and headed toward the cabin once more, after saying a simple "get a seat", the door shutting tight behind her. She sat onto the chair, absolutely loving how she was completely in control. One last check at the coordinates, and she activated the comm-link.
"Hyperspace jump in ten seconds."
Turning to her right, she placed her hand onto the handle, counting in her head as the engines roared, preparing for the effort. Finally, she pulled it down, and was thrown against her seat as the light freighter sped up, rushing toward the black emptyness of space, and disappearing from orbite.
Whatever the hardships and struggles, their journey had begun.

Without much of a word, Cale sat down. If the man was actually any wiser than [member="Dax Fyre"] and [member="Xiarr Sair"] it likely stemmed from age and experience, something he had on the entirety of the ships current occupants, but something told the aging Knight that all of them would become a bit more experienced once Jhiaga landed in the aging Eadu facility's TIE hangar.

Dax sat down and tapped his foot. A never-still body he sat silently, running various scenarios in his head, from best case to worse. At best, they walked in and out with no opposition what so ever....not likely, things never went smoothly. At worse, the facility wasn't actually abandoned and instead housed a secret Sith training area, in which case, the four saber wielders stood no chance...also unlikely. Such thoughts streamed through the man's mind as he sat in silence.

"Sure sure, an enemy that we don't even know is interested in us will be the doom of us all. Whatever suits your fancy." Xiarr sighed, knowing he was acting just a tad bit arrogant. He just didn't want to believe that star destroyers would be on their tail. He just wanted to walk away with his credits, nothing more, nothing less.

With any luck [member="Jhiaga Shiwr"] would have them at Eadu any moment, she'd likely call someone up once she got in atmosphere, after all with all that rain a copilot might be nice, but then again she could've had one the entire time and to be quite frank he'd never have known. Both [member="Xiarr Sair"] and [member="Dax Fyre"] seemed almost tense, not so much worried as ready to get whatever awful twist the universe was going to throw at them out of the way so that they could move on with their business and get paid. He couldn't blame them, he was the exact same way.

Dax finally broke his silent reverie, "So what's the plan if we meet resistance. As much as I hate to admit it, if this guys is willing to pay two mil for whatever this is, there is bound to be another who is willing to do the same. We might not be the only ones out here." The thought made far more sense to Dax than any of his other musings. Just because something was obscure did not mean it was worthless. And usually when things were both obscure and worthwhile, there was more than one powerful person searching for it.

"Too late for worrying now, boys", declared the Mandalorian from the speakers as they left hyper-space, in low-orbite from Eadu, the bounty hunter slowly leading her ship further down, heading toward the hangar coordinates. All seemed easy and wrapped up... until an explosion rung. Red lights flashed on her control screen, and, groaning, the Zabrak took a sharp turn to the left, avoiding the other AA lasers. She reached for the canyons, gracefully navigating through them at high-speed, in order to avoid the lasers that damaged a part of her freighter. The voice of her on-board droid came up in communications, having asserted the situation.
"Captain, the landing zone is not secure. Are you sure you wish to -"
She cut the droid off, pushing the thrusters to even more speed. Activating the speakers once more, she prepared herself for a tight squeeze.
"We're going in. Get tactical, forcies!"
Pulling up abruptly, she fired a couple of missiles at the nearest AA gun, taking it down succesfully, before reaching for the hangar and hastily landing. Whoever had reactivated these weapons was going to pay for the scratches they made on the Indomitable. With the press of a button, the ramp lowered, allowing the three passengers to disembark.
"Go, go, go!"

Feth, of course karking AA guns were firing at them. If they were lucky it was just droids, but something told him it wasn't. Sprinting towards the hatch he only hoped the other two were behind him as he jumped off of the ram. Sinking at his knees as he landed, his boots made contact with the ground with a thud, and instantly he brought a saber to either of his hands. One evidently had more effort put into its construction, more genuine care, the other had no form of aesthetic to it, it was completely without any frills. Raising his eyes he found himself staring down a massive group of white armored soldiers.

Stormtroopers, and not the First Order kind either, these looked like they'd just walked out of the Galactic Civil War. Without pause Cale thumbed the ignitions on each of the hilts, and with a snap-hiss both blades sprung to life. The first saber emitted a cobalt blue blade, and the second, more basic saber emitted crimson one. Springing forward as blaster bolts flew towards him his blades moved in a flurry of color, redirecting the shots across the hangar which lay in relative ruin, centuries old TIE fighters now wasted away to nothing but skeletons a where they once rested, the only light coming from those set up by whoever these Imperial-types were.

Ducking behind the corpse of a TIE fighter the Knight got his bearings and prepared to assault the troopers, hopefully with his allies in tow.

Dax swore as the ship rocked, flak bouncing off the hull, ion blasts sounding just outside what seemed like a tinfoil hull at this point. Dax was all too eager to jump out of the ship, the Mando's order to move spurring him to follow right behind the Sith.

Dax landed and rolled, popping up into his feet, he unleashed a kinetic blast at one of the smaller groups of Stormtroopers,, knockig them flat onto their backs. His sabers floated up from his belt and to his hand, orangee blades roaring and screaming to life, he began to twirl them around himself, the blades redirecting the green bolts back towards the troopers.

Xiarr was slammed into a wall by the first initial attacks. As he got up, he did his best to assess the situation. But he then saw a familiar armor, made up of plastoid and other basic materials. Stormtroopers. Of course, it was just his luck, being sarcastic had never worked out very well. Xiarr then quickly grabbed his saber, the yellow blade illuminating the surrounding area. He noticed a squad of stormtroopers to his right, quickly raising his blade to deflect the incoming blaster bolts in a quick flurry of yellow and red. Like dominos, the squad slowly began to dwindle and fall. After they all fell he looked around, hoping to see the others alive.

Last to arrive was Jhiaga, the Mandalorian stepping down the ramp slowly, taking her time to lock on every single target. She advanced tactically, going at a steady pace, shooting one stormtrooper, then another, watching with satisfaction as some of them were blasted unconscious and not killed thanks to their armor. When the white-armored hostiles finally took enough cover to pin them down, she activated her jetpack, flying above them; she kept firing, dropping a shot and then blasting away from the incoming shots. They were tough and well-trained, she had to give them that. But she had learned most of Imperial strategy as part of her training in the ways of the Mando'a, and if they didn't find a way to improsive a new strategy soon, her shots and the jedi's lightsabers would be through the ambush much faster than they could of.

Narrowing his eyes Cale rounded the edge of the TIE, hurling the crimson saber into one trooper, the blade impaling him through the chest. In the instant that the slowly crumbling ranks of the troopers were distracted by the collapsing trooper Cale bounded forward. Reaching out with the force he slammed one trooper into another and advanced at a breakneck pace, the blue blade spinning furiously as he closed the gap, closing in on the troopers until he was on them. Swinging powerfully he cleaved the head off a trooper, then spun back around swiping another across the chest, then yanking the crimson saber from the chest of the trooper who was still collapsing. Holding it in a reverse grip as Marek would've, he slashed the crimson into the torso of a trooper and hammered the blue through the helmet of another.

As the former Jedi and Sith carved a bloody swathe into the troopers he took their attention away from the others so that they could advance, the only problem was that he now had several troopers with a bead on his back. Already he was counting on the other members of the crew to watch his back. They'd have to move fast. Somewhere, he sensed something dark, but familiar somewhere on Eadu, terrifyingly familiar.

It wasn't either of them, but it sure as hell felt like it was. Davin? Marek?

Dax cut a bloody swath through the ranks of the stormtroopers, much like his companions. As [member="Jhiaga Shiwr"] rained hell down upon the white-clad soldiers, Dax plunged his saber into the chest of another trooper before spinning around, leg arcing behind his body and colliding the knee of another who barely had enough time to register any pain before a second saber cleaved its way up his body.

It didn't take long for Dax to notice a few more troopers targeting the Sith's exposed back. Thinking quickly the man dropped the saber in his right hand and drew a his slugthrower. Seven quick shots rang out and the troopers collapsed. The slugthrower was quickly holstered and the saber floating back into the Rogue's hand.

The man moved on to the next target, then the next. The stormtroopers' numbers began to dwindle as the four of them fought with the skill of born warriors.

Xiarr cut down any remaining stragglers with ease, slicing through their weak plastic-like armor like butter. He sensed the others force signatures and began to head in their direction. The number of stormtroopers barely grew as he made his way closer to the others. It seemed like they had already dealt with their unexpected guests.

Jhiaga finished off the last group of troopers with a casual throw of a thermal detonator, before deactivating her jetpack, landing with a "thud" on the ground. Rifle still raised, she made a motion with her left hand; hoping the others would understand she wanted them to regroup.
"Those were just grunts", spoke the Mandalorian matter-of-factly. "And we caught them off guard, too. You can be sure they'll be sounding the alarm any minute now."
Looking down at the display on her wrist, she made a frown. The data was located deep within the station... and they would certainly need to fight their way through. Gak, now would of been the perfect time to have one of the Blood Matron's stealth suits. Shaking her head, she tapped onto it, displaying a pathway onto her visor display. She pointed toward a platform, half blasted by rocket fire. "There should be a door around here leading deeper into the facility."
