Giving the Doctor a New Tool

Dragon Palace Casino, Antecedent, Rooftop

Chiasa stood, looking over the translucent safety barrier and towards the neon skyline of Antecedent. Even at night Antecedent with it's penchant and love of neon was never dark. Never shut down. Much like the Casino's and the Ravens themselves. Even in the rare times when they seemed to be quiet, it was only because they were plotting, preparing. And one part of preparing was making sure that all her Ravens had the tools and the skills they needed.

Which was what led her to putting out a call to one [member="Amelia Deathman"], an invitation to meet the Twi'lek here. The good doctor while very skilled in some fields was lacking in others. In particular, force training. Quite frankly Chiasa wasn't even certain if the Doctor knew she was force sensitive, it had never come up before. Likely she knew. If anyone was going to be aware of the exact number of.. whatsit's.. midichlorians or whatever, in their blood it was the good doctor.

In either case, the Twi'lek waited patiently, making sure she herself was calm and ready to interact with the Force in a stable manner.

An alert pinged through the speakers of her com suite in her laboratory orbiting Antecdent. A message from Chiassa wanting her to meet the President of the Red Ravens planetside, more specificly in their main casino. What in the 'Verse would she want with the Good Doctor? She would go and find out. It would be bad form to ignore a summons from one's boss lady. Amelia walked to the cockpit of her Frieghter and hit the autopilot to land her ship. She wasn't a very good pilot herself so she modified the autopilot prigram to take off and land as well. As the ship began it's decent she dressed herself appropriately for an audience with the Bosslady. Amelia put on a simple blue pantsuit and black leather pumps. After landing at the spacedock Amelia hailed a speeder and headed to the casino. While she rode she thought on how she would greet the Boss. She hadn't spoken to her much and didn't know what kind of personality she had.

Finally arriving Amelia stepped out of the speeder and into the casino. Looking around for a bit she found Chiassa at the rooftop observation area where Amelia promptly joined her.

"Miss President?"

"Doctor Deathman."

Chiasa returned turning to face the other woman with a smile.

"It's come to my attention that you're force sensitive, and untrained. Since it could both be useful to you, and be something of a liability if it's not under control, I thought I'd offer my help. If you'd like. This is purely optional, not something you have to do."

Amelia did not strike her as the kind of woman to turn down another tool in her arsenal, but you never knew. Some people were funny about things. Perhaps she thought the force was cheating or hated force users so much she refused to recognize she was one herself. While this scenarios were highly unlikely, they were possible.

This was a surprising offer from someone so high up in the echelons of the Raven leadership. Kark yeah she would take her up on that offer, of course she wouldn't let it on how excited she was about this development. Hmm how to ask it politely, bah kark that!

" I am indeed sensitive to the force. My midiclorian count is not as high as the greats but it is not a regular Joe Shmo level either. As for your offer of training. What can you teach me and how would we go about doing this?"

No matter what was offered it would be absorbed as only knowledge should be. The more she knew the better.

"Telekinesis. Usually this is broken down to push, pull and levitate but it's all the same damned thing. Basic telepathy, it's useful to be able to speak without speaking. You could likely learn force healing fairly quickly and easily given your background. Depending on how quickly you pick up all that might hit the self enhancement bits. Mostly useful for keeping up with other Force Users. Or getting away from them."

The Twi'lek was a practical beast. Telekinesis might help Amelia with her work. Telepathy was good for dangerous situations, to speak when ones enemies were present without them hearing, or call for help when words were impossible. Healing was always useful as a just in case. And the self enhancements, particularly speed.. So many force users just wanted to duke it out. Chiasa was not generally one of them, though she would fight when she deemed it necessary. The problem was that even when it was not, if you were an average person it was extremely hard to get away.

As one man had once said, the best defence is a a good pair of shoes, and if you happened to combine that with superhuman speeds.. So much the better.

There was more she could teach of course, but she would be pleased and surprised if Amelia picked up all of the above in one sitting, this was more to lay the groundwork for the woman to perfect on hr own than anything.

"As for how.. By doing I suppose. Demonstration and explanation. What you can do with the Force is largely limited by what you think you can do. Seeing a thing done and having it explained tends to break down the barriers of disbelief that hold us back."

Healing, Telepathy, Superman-like speed, and flight? Well there goes her need of a suit of armor with jump jets. All of those were useful for a doctor to know. So many new possibilities for new toys based on the new things she would be learning. This was going to be soooo much fun! The ideas flowed through her mind like a rushing river. So much so she was temporarily distracted from the last part about barriers.

"My understanding of the force itself is limited to books and data from the holonet. That being said I will accept your offer and study to the best of my ability. "

Her fingers twitched as she smiled at the thought of how she would get to design her own lightsaber and build it as she wished. No constraints and she could build it super fast after she mastered that speed thing.

"Good. I'm switching the order then, telepathy is likely the easiest place to start, and once you have that the rest will flow easier."

While Chiasa was more than happy to share what she knew, she'd never been taught herself so most of her lessons and methods were made up on the fly and could change at a whim as she calculated what would likely end with the most favorable results.

~It is easiest because you are doing nothing visibly impossible. The mind tends to accept it the best.~

Her mental presence was characterized by the flavour hot, dry desert winds and blood. While it was pervasive and she was making herself pointedly there, she did not dig into the others mind. That wasn't the point of the exercise.

~It also teaches you the beginning of Force Sense. Every Force User has a signature, an aura, and it is utterly unique to them, though you can learn tricks with that later. Now you feel me because I am here, in your mind, but if you look you should be able to feel me even when I am not. As you get stronger you can.. It's a bit like a ship, with passive and active scanners. When you first start you can use only active scanners. Send out a ping and see what comes back in that moment. Later you will be aware at all times.~

~Back to Telepathy however. It will be easiest now because I've already bridged us. Follow my signature and it will lead you back to me. You can either send your message back along this link or.. If you are comfortable with the person, you can send an avatar of yourself. Here, I will show you.~

Where before it was only the feeling and the words that she would likely hear in the Twi'leks voice, now the Doctor would see her standing within her minds eye. As this was taking place in the Doctors mind, the setting was likely one where she felt comfortable.

~This,~

The Twi'lek gestured around.

~can be seen as more.. intimate, personable I suppose, but there is also more danger. Though this is not my essence, my soul, it is a part of me and someone strong enough could use it to hurt me. When you simply send a message, you are staying within the safety of your own mind, and can more easily defend yourself.~

Amelia's head was no picnic. It was a chaotic mess of ideas and thoughts about interesting..well interesting to her, ways to kill and maim. Different experiments to run. Why? Just to have the knowledge of how they worked. Lime just how sensitive a Twi'lek's Leku were. What were they exactly? Were they muscles or just firm fat deposits? For some reason they were prized by their owners. Does a Rancor feel pain the same way humans do? Do geonosians have the ability to fly because they have hollow bones like birds or do they have bladders to help them stay afloat in conjunction with their wings? How much plastique explosive would be needed to sever the limb of a Gen'dai? Would Mon Calimari make good sushi? The words Chiasa 'spoke' rang out over the chaos of Amelia's mind and were indeed absorbed. Suddenly everything went quiet as Amelia tried to answer back along the same connection Chiasa made. Unfortunately it sounded more like someone talking on a cell phone while driving through a tunnel.

"This is so...Sorry...mess in here. How does...work?"

[member="Chiasa Kritivaas"]

In the physical world the Twi'lek shrugged.

~No one agrees. What is a truth is that belief plays an incredibly large role in what you are capable of. No matter how much potential you have or how long you train, if you do not believe you can do a thing you will not be able to.~

A surge of amusement.

~For the love of all that is holy, do not tell the philosophers. There will be more of this 'perhaps the galaxy as we know it is just a dream' nonsense, with force-users as lucid dreamers.~

~And perhaps they would be right, it is as good an answer as any other, but it is lazy, and encourages people not to take what is happening seriously. Not to understand that dream or not it is real. Look at the reports of the Rapture, Netherworld, whatever you choose to call it. A God-like being we still don't understand and by all reports it, she, was killed by a common sniper. That is the danger of coming to think this is a dream and you are untouchable.~

~So! Believe in your own abilities, but be aware of others as well.~

~And in response to your earlier query.. Very sensitive, as they contain parts of my brain.~

In truth what Amelia had managed so far was no mean feat, in the continued conversation, even if parts of it seemed unnecessary the Twi'lek was trying to get her accustomed to this form of communication. The easiest way to do this of course was simply to practice. To have her receive and send more.
