Description: Gideon Raith, once a Major within the One Sith Armed Forces before he had defected to the Alliance, stood five feet and eleven inches tall. His physique was athletic, though not overly muscular, and adorned with skin in the shade of pale cream; tanned by the satin kiss of countless alien suns. The former Stormtrooper's eyes were a dull hue of blue, glittering darkly and broken only by a thin lattice of silver woven throughout his irises, whilst his neatly cropped hair was an earthly shade of brown. Like his vocation would suggest, the Major adorns his war-torn figure in the alabaster enameled plate of his battle armor, rarely seen outside its protective graces. On the occasions that he was forced to wear something that didn't reek of smoke and combat, Gideon elected to dress himself in the freshly pressed folds of his dress uniform or combat fatigues. Always the Soldier.

Strengths and Weaknesses:

Retinal Implants: Blinded as a child and having his eyes almost entirely replaced by synthetic augmentations, Gideon's first and only known weakness is his inability to counter electronic warfare naturally. With a single burst of an Electro-Magnetic Pulse, should the Soldier be caught without an insulated Helmet, would steal his enhanced sight and leave him blanketed in the dark.

Bloodstained: Many times throughout his lauded career, the Major had been ordered by his former Sith masters to lay waste to entire villages in the hopes of rooting out dissenters. Dozens of innocent lives were spent, and all the Major had to say in response was that he was merely following orders - and that the blood of their lives was on his Commander's hands. However, after having been captured and enlightened to the error of his ways, Major Raith has become haunted by the acts of his past and will do everything within his power to make amends for any wrongdoing.

Unquestionable Loyalty: As he had demonstrated time and time again within the ranks of the One Sith Empire's Armed Forces, Gideon is devoutly loyal to his Commanders, so much so that he will carry out their orders - even if the result was to be his own death. Though he was no longer bound by the Empire's Law, Gideon applies the same mentality to his superiors within the Alliance Hierarchy and expects the same of those under his Command.

Pre-RolePlay Biography:

When you are born upon the world that paid its tithe to the Imperium in blood, sweat, and metal, there is little room for dreaming of a better life. Yet, that is exactly what the boy named Gideon Raith had done. His days were filled with tedious labor, much of which had been the cause of the youth with no future to lose his sight. Fate had dealt the boy a cruel hand, but such a handicap did not stop him. He was determined to live among the stars, and even though he may not see them as others did, the sensation would remain the same. The boy’s father spent a year fasting, eating what little scraps of food he could to save up for his only child’s prosthetic eyes, though the amount was still too high for him to purchase entirely. That was when the family was approached by a Recruitment Officer for the Imperial Army. He had given Gideon and his parents a choice, one that would see him taken from their care and given back what was taken from him, or remain in the dark for the rest of his numbered days. Uncaring that he would not see his family again, the boy enlisted in the Imperial Armed Forces and was given back his sight.

Throughout his days as a Cadet, he had proven himself time and time again to be a dedicated soldier, eagerly wanting to show to his erstwhile masters that he was worthy of the endowment he had been given. They had given him a second chance, while the place that he had come from would’ve seen him into an early grave. When his training period had come to a close, Gideon was offered a most prestigious offer within the Grand Imperium. He had a chance to fulfill his destiny as one of the most elite soldiers in the galaxy. Knowing that very few were ever offered to become part of Emperor’s Stormtrooper Corps, the future Major did not waste a moment in accepting the offer. Now transferred to the Raithal Academy, a similar facility to that which was lost with Carida in ages past, he began undergoing the changes that would shape him into the man he would eventually become.

After many years of educational service to His Majesties Stormtrooper Corps, the Empire began to stagnate and threatened to collapse thereafter. Knowing that everything he loved would soon be teetering upon the double-edged blade of history, Gideon found himself in the service of a man whose rising ambition mirrored his own. This sect was formed from the ailing corpse of this Sith-led Empire and bore a name that was forgotten with time. For years, he had faithfully served under the cunning leadership of his new Lord, and the various Sith Masters beholden to him. Enduring the horrors of various battlefields, the Stormtrooper's martial prowess came to the fore during the Scouring of the Togot Hive. The planet had been infested with Killik’s from the Dark Nest; Gorog and had been attacking several of the Imperium’s nearby Protectorate worlds. His orders were to take an artillery brigade and atomize the nest, leaving no survivors, despite the protestations of those unaffected by the Hive mentality. Within a month, of pounding laser barrages and daring raids into the nesting grounds, the Killik Hive had been cleansed by both atomic fire and the merciless bladed edge of steel.

Brimming with pride after completing his Lord’s will, Gideon had found himself faced with the horrified survivors and their Republic allies. No longer supported by the flotilla and left without support, the then Captain, gathered his men and scuttled their camps and heavy equipment, going underground after that to escape the surface probes by both parties. Unforgiving for such a seemingly senseless atrocity committed against their people, as the Killik nest had not known of the Dark Nest’s infiltration, their armada opened fire on the last known positions of the Imperium’s forces. It was during this chaos that Gideon had learned of the Empire finally succumbing to the pressures of history and finally crumbling into dust. He was now alone, without the promise of support, and behind enemy lines. He had to get his men out of there and return to his comrades in arms. So, as the Republic began their relief and recovery efforts, the survivors of his ragged Company surged forth from the wilds and stormed one of the many landing ships, slaughtering all that stood within.

With their newly claimed vessel dusting off from the surface of the partially glassed world, the few dozen men that remained watched in the distance as the combined forces of the Republic and the Killik hive mind gave chase. There would be no way for them to escape this world and the supposed crimes they had committed. However, fate decided to play her cards. Angered by the Imperium’s lightning reprisal of their aggressive actions in that sector, the Dark Nest; Gorog had sent in their fleet engaging anyone that stood in their way. Togot was their world; they earned it through guile! Thus when the battle began, Gideon and what remained of his men limped into hyperspace and headed for the depths of the core worlds.

Left without his connections to his Lord, Gideon was forced to serve various splinter factions that considered themselves heirs to the noble Imperialistic dream. As his path had led his ragged Company to the Deep Core, the Stormtrooper had enlisted with a faction that had proscribed themselves as the true Imperial Remnant. However, such tenure would not last as their arrogance had been their undoing. Another band of squabbling Imperials had also considered themselves the true heirs to the Empire’s sovereign ideal and chafed at the thought there were others outside their sphere of influence who proclaimed the same. Thus, when that nameless rabble had invaded, all that stood in their way was leveled and laid bare. None survived their onslaught, save an intrepid young Captain and his Stormtrooper counterparts. As the remnant fell into fractured bands of raving lunatics and cowardly mercenaries, Gideon once again found himself swimming through the stars in search of his long lost brothers.

It was then when all hope had seemed lost that the Captain was found by his long lost Master and brought into his loving embrace. For what appeared to be an age, the Soldier had served his Lord faithfully, bringing errant systems into Compliance and spreading the Imperial Truth to every world his ragged Warband had marched across. Like all reunions, the one between Master and Slave had become bitter. The man wasn't anything like Gideon had remembered, and it seemed that his time away from that cretin's oppressive demeanor had enlightened the soldier to that man's true nature. While he had known that the man was a Sith, what the now newly minted Major did not know, was that the man was experimenting on his subordinates, turning them into monsters of twisted metal and flesh. Betrayed by the hubris of a Demi-God, Gideon slew his Lord and was subsequently captured by the Galactic Alliance as they surged forth from the fringes of space.

Left alone with his thoughts for many years, the Major began re-evaluating his purpose in life. For many years he served an ignoble cause that had seen entire cultures crushed underneath his iron-shod boots, leaving little for him to be proud of. That was when a bright-eyed Jedi came to his cell and had offered him a chance for redemption, to wash away his sins in service to a greater ideal. She was his angel, and though he had spent his youth in darkness - Gideon would find salvation in the bosom of the Alliance. Vetted and Tested to ensure that nothing of his former allegiance remained, the Major was returned to active duty in the Armed Forces of the Galactic Alliance, and through the graces of his Saviour, retained his authoritative rank. Now free from the bonds of his past, the former Stormtrooper has taken up the banner of justice and seeks to end the vile evils that plague the heart of the galaxy, and will do anything within his power to see such a lofty dream achieved.
