Character General Xalax

Xalax

Guest
X
NAME: ST-0013, prefers to be called Xalax

FACTION: Formerly the Separatist Alliance, now unaligned.

RANK: General

SPECIES: Modified Super Tactical Droid

AGE: 923 standard years

GENDER: Technically none, but has masculine programming

HEIGHT: 1.95 meters

WEIGHT: 100 kilograms

EYES: Dull yellow, red when fighting

HAIR: N/A

SKIN: N/A

FORCE SENSITIVE: No

STRENGTHS:
  • Excellent Tactician: Like all Super Tactical Droids, Xalax was specifically programmed to analyze the weak points of seemingly unbeatable enemies, and can pull a victory seemingly from nowhere.
  • Experienced: Xalax is well over 800 standard years old, and with age comes almost unrivaled experience. He has commanded well over 100 different battles, and has studied countless more with rigorous efficiency.
  • Back Up Data: Xalax has made several copies of his programming, so that if he is indeed destroyed one day, his army can create a new Xalax to continue his work. To truly erase him from existence would require a person to destroy all of his back up data.
  • Skilled With A Bo-Rifle: Xalax has trained himself in the use of a bo-rifle, which he salvaged during the time he was stranded on Lasan. While not as skilled as a Jedi would be with a lightsaber, Xalax can certainly hold his ground against anyone who underestimates him.
  • Survivor: Centuries spent in the wastelands of Lasan have made Xalax a natural survivor in even the worst conditions.
Weaknesses:
  • Universal Offswitch: Xalax is programmed to immediately self terminate and erase all of his back up data when he hears a certain set of code words referred to as a universal offswitch. While his original programmers are all dead, there have been several attempts to figure out what the specific words are. They are believed to be some sort of logical paradox which would confuse a droid.
  • Advanced Age: Xalax’s age is something of a double edged sword, as he is not fully up to date with all of the galaxy’s latest weapons technology, due to the centuries he spent on Lasan. His body is also an odd mixture of old parts, which means Xalax needs to repair it regularly.

APPEARANCE:
Xalax is a Super Tactical Droid with extensive modifications across his body. Some modifications to his cranial unit include an environmental scanner, no visor, and a communication antenna. As he has had to repair himself using cannibalized starship parts, old Imperial Era technology, and Lasat technology for several hundred years, his assortment of different limbs is rather like a patchwork quilt. He has a variety of different gadgets built into himself, such as a spectrometer, a hologram generator, a compass, an audio recording device, and various other devices.

BIOGRAPHY:
ST-0013 was built for the Confederacy Of Independent Systems Military on the planet Geonosis in 21 BBY under the personal supervision of Wat Tambor. Choosing the name Xalax, ST-0013 was assigned the rank of General, and served directly under some of the most prominent leaders in the CIS. Working directly under the organic rulers of the droids, Xalax was given a unique perspective that many droids were not.

Xalax was eventually chosen to be put in charge of a secret project which involved using experimental teleportation technology to launch a surprise attack on the Galactic Republic. While the teleportation device worked on small objects, Xalax knew that it would be years before his scientists could get it to work on a fleet large enough to attack the Core Worlds. When the Separatist Council ordered him to do exactly that, Xalax attempted to explain that it would not work. The council said that they did not care about his concerns. Xalax reluctantly attempted to teleport a fleet to the Core Worlds, but due to a catastrophic software error, the fleet was teleported directly into the crust of the planet Lasan instead. The ships of the fleet were trapped beneath the surface of the planet for 360 years, and Xalax and the battle droids on board the ships entered a state of statis-lock.

The natural seismic activity of Lasan eventually opened a fissure in the ground, which exposed the buried starships from their grave. After this, the starships automatically reactivated the onboard droids, including Xalax. Despite having been released from his prison, Xalax could not immediately escape the planet. 360 years of decay had taken their toll on the fleet, and it would be an entire 523 more before Xalax’s droids had rebuilt the ships. For repairs, they scrapped one of the support ships, and also used old technology from the war between the Lasat and the Galactic Empire which had evidently wiped out all life on the planet.

During these rebuilding centuries, Xalax had plenty of time to compute. He computed about the Clone Wars, the CIS, the Republic, the war between the Lasat and the Galactic Empire, and the nature of droids and organics. He even managed to see beyond his basic programming, and found himself tampering with it more and more often. He continually questioned why droids were continually owned and treated as property by organics. He questioned why droids were always the first test subjects of new and dangerous procedures, like his fleet’s accident with the teleportation technology. Would the mission have been rushed if there were organic crew members in the fleet? Would an organic crew have survived as long as they had on Lasan? Would organics always be engaging in pointless violence towards each other no matter what, like the Galactic Empire had against the Lasat?

As Xalax and his droids replaced more and more of their old parts with cannibalized parts from the fleet and left over technology from the Lasat Wars, they began questioning organic superiority even more. By the time the fleet had been fully repaired, Xalax and his droids were no longer loyal servants of the Confederacy Of Independent Systems, but a rogue military organization with one mission: the death or enslavement of all organic life.

SHIP:
The Scar Of Lasan: Originally a Providence Class Carrier/Destroyer called the Nexu’s Tooth, The Scar Of Lasan features extensive modifications. It resembles a mis-matched fusion of various different ships of the CIS, the Galactic Empire, and the Lasat. While it is rather outdated by modern standards, it is certainly not to be underestimated in battle, featuring a unique mixture of CIS, Imperial and Lasat technology which offers a variety of potential surprises to anyone expecting an easy fight, especially when it is being commanded by Xalax.
