GENE TYPHERIUS KENOBI
NAME: Gene Typherius Kenobi.
FACTION: None.
RANK: Journeyman with mastering of some Force abilities.
SPECIES: Human, for all intents and purposes.
AGE: Mid forties.
SEX: Male and decidedly heterosexual.
HEIGHT: Five feet and ten-and-a-half inches.
WEIGHT: One hundred and sixty eight pounds.
EYES: A soft but vibrant blue.
HAIR: Brown with caramel tones and mild graying.
SKIN: A moderately tanned but fair complexion with few blemishes.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Fairly so, but not excessively.
+ Capable duelist: While he does not boast any exceptional skill, Gene is clever and patient beyond words. He is capable of competing in any ring with any opponent given the right amount of time and assessment while practicing his mastery of the defensive form of Soresu; Applying other forms, excluding Juyo and Djem-So, as necessary.
+ Talented tongue: Gene has a way with words that can be attested to his uncannily lengthy patience. While many are inclined to respond quickly, and in kind, Gene is one to prefer to sit back and wait for the right words to come to him that will, hopefully, get him into or out of a situation; He has no training in negotiation and relies on his luck.
+ Lucky kark: Most likely his most exceptional talent, Gene is luckier than any man in a gamblers den. If his skill as a duelist or capable tongue cannot get him out of a situation there is likely a chance that something he says or does will wind up providing him an in or out; a far less tangible strength than the others but rather one that relies on his ability to see the ins and outs of most any situation he puts himself in.
- Flying is for Droids: While one might think immediately that this means he lacks any ability to fly a ship, that is not entirely correct. What he lacks is any ability to trust in his ability to do so alone and thus fails miserably at anything other than managing to fly a ship in the most basic fashion possible without assistance. He does not like flying ships by himself, nor does he like being dependent on the ability of others in their ships unless they have proven themselves over numerous occasions; this often leads to him remaining in a single place for long periods of time unless he must fly there of his own accord.
- Snarky and Smug: Confident in his abilities, within reason, Gene has a tendency to project himself higher than others at times. Unwilling to accept that he is outmatched or outclassed, he will use his words and attitude as a weapon rather than relying solely on his own ability by attempting to derail the focus of his opponent, or even just simple enemies, and work around their dissuaded demeanor; This often finds him in far deeper water if his attempts should serve to anger his opponents further.
- Stone stubborn: Gene has a tendency not to budge on matters that are most important to him. Going so far as to stand firm on something even should it mean that he is defying the expectations of others that might be seeking some level of results. Whether it be his beliefs regarding the Force or his stance on the galaxy as a whole, Gene is a tough nut to crack once he has set his mind to something that he intends to view one way and no other; this often finds him working his way through things on his own rather than with the help of others unless their opinion is loosely tangible wit his own. He is incapable of working properly with individuals with extremely opposite opinions: Sith for instance.
While traditional in his beliefs regarding his lineage to Kenobi's long past, Gene does not dress or carry himself as stringently as one might expect. Often wearing casual clothes over robes in regards to his choice to be a practitioner of the Force, he often appears far more stiff. He wears his beard mildly short and his hair long, but carefully kept Gene sports an appearance uncannily similar to the now legendary Obi-wan Kenobi though with minor differences in a degree of weathering to his complexion from years of exposure to harsh elements and the tests of time in a galaxy rife with turmoil.
BIOGRAPHY:
While the story of Gene Kenobi is fairly straightforward, it is not who he has become that is important but rather how he came to be there. A story that begins with an aged miner with claims* of descending from the legendary Obi-wan Kenobi. Unfoundable and nearly impossible to prove, the miner was shrugged off by a great many who would come upon him. It would not be until at least four generations later that a his great, great, great, great grandson would endure the burdens of his family's blundering through the history of his line.
It mattered not to Gene Typherius Kenobi if he was related to Obi-wan Kenobi, nor that he was connected to any of the ancient myths and legends surrounding the endeavors of the ancient hero. All that mattered to Gene was his family and those closest to him. It was to this end that Gene constantly looked after his younger sister Erianna Kenobi and endured the deaths of his elder brother and parents on his path to become the man they all believed he should be. The vision of their supposed ancestor and a Jedi Knight.
The dream of his sister, and not himself.
For years, decades even, the two traveled the galaxy in search of purpose and, in turn, fortune; for survival above all else. It was not until they met those who claimed to be tangent to the remaining Jedi Order that Gene found his calling. Not as a Jedi Knight to serve and protect the galaxy, but as a journeyman warrior who could propagate peace and teach others to follow in his footsteps to avoid the fate that had befallen so many in his family before him. It as a different dream than that of his sister, but he was not about to let the decisions of his blood shape him. He was a Kenobi but he did not have to be a legend.
In time Gene would come to understand the Force in a way he could only attest to some connection he possessed to his supposed ancestor. Unfortunately no amount of research could provide him with the closure and solidification he sought. While he possessed the Kenobi name, there were times he wondered if the name was simply something his family had given themselves to endure the passage of time. At least until he discovered the journal his great, great, great grandfather had left for his descendants to find. A journal that, while it did not explain just how the name came to pass, provided Gene the link and confirmation he needed.
While there was no proof that he was directly descended to Obi-wan Kenobi, he had no doubt that he was a true Kenobi by some familial connection. What remained, however, was proving himself to the galaxy as a man worthy of carrying the name that weighed so heavily on the minds of those obsessed with myth and legend. A task that he knew no one man should ever be forced to endure; but one he was readily willing to accept in the acceptance that if he possessed the name he should live up to it in some form.
A hard lesson learned, but one learned none the less. He was a Kenobi and they were not known to simply roll over and disappear.

They are in fact descended from a member of the family Kenobi hailed from.
