- After the process of alchemization, the ionite has lost its original properties to create alternate charges while interacting with regular energy fields, but now creates alternative charges when in contact with specific extreme spectrums of the Living Force (i.e. Light and Dark Side), creating a large panoramic energy barrier that can neutralize attacks like Force Lightning or Force Light.
- Force Users or Force Imbued items with alignment to either the Dark or Light Side of the Force (or actively channeling the spectrum) may likely find their Force connection or effects suppressed when in proximity to Gemini Ward (~2 meter radius). The severity of suppression depends on the extremity of their alignment.

While facing his former master for the freedom and lives of his fellow slave soldiers, Cyprian was nearly slain by the sorcerer who bombarded him with all sorts of brutal occult techniques passed down from their Dark Jedi ancestors. It was only by his years of combat experience and resilience as a mutant that he was able to best his master by the skin of his teeth. However, to this day, he still recuperates from Force inflicted wounds to his flesh, which is the true secret reason he almost always walks around fully armored or cloaked.
At that time, his fight had been an action at the spur of the moment, but in the future he would be prepared. While seeking additional tutelage in the ways of the Force from various teachers at home and abroad, Cyprian armed himself with a new form of defense, making clever use of stores of ionite he had acquired for other projects. Reworking the properties of the rare mineral, he was able to craft a new ward against the Darkness, but also the Light.
He interpreted the unforeseen byproduct as a sign to remain wary of adherents of either extreme.
