PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Standing nearly six and a half feet tall and weighing in at 240 pounds, Gel Karn has spent years developing the strength and muscle mass needed to be an armorer, a job he performs admirably well in service to the Iron Covenant. Gel is light skinned with short brown hair and and brown eyes, and sports no facial hair, preferring to be completely clean shaven to avoid any chance of his face catching fire while he is forging. Gel's arms sport dozens of minor burn scars, most of which he received when he just started out as an armorer, along with a Ka'rta tattoo on his chest, which is only the first of many tattoos that Gel plans on getting once he has redeemed himself through his service to the Iron Covenant.

INVENTORY

Though Gel is most at home in his forge, he doesn't really have any qualms about going into the field of battle to support his brothers and sisters-in-arms during combat operations, though the armor he wears is highly unusual even by Mandalorian standards. His Beskar helmet is festooned with a pair of mandibles that Gel claims comes from a juvenile Mythosaur, while his armorer's tunic doubles as a Jazerant, one constructed out of Armorweave, Beskar Chainmail and Spacers Leather. Gel also tends to wear a Utility Belt, Heat Resistance Gloves and Boots and a Kilt full of tools that Gel uses to make in field repairs to armors and weapons. Gel is rarely, if ever, seen without his Gravity Hammer.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Contrary to his muscular appearance, Gel Karn is rather shy and soft spoken, much preferring to spend his time tinkering and forging than being in the presence of other people and droids. Gel feels intensely guilty for having forged weapons and armor for the Mandalorian Empire and their Sith allies, which prompted his defection to the Iron Covenant and quest for personal redemption. Overall, Gel is something of a "gentle giant", one who is slow to anger but terrible to face when roused into righteous fury, a fury that he hopes to put to good use against the enemies of the Iron Covenant.

STRENGTHS

  • Armorer: Gel has over a decade of experience in forging weapons and armor, along with an innate ability to repair nearly anything that is put in front of him, regardless of condition or available resources
  • Strongman: Years of forging has given Gel the strength and muscle mass needed to be an effective armorer, which translates well into fighting should Gel need to defend himself or his allies
  • Heat resistance: Because Gel spends so much time in his forge, he has gotten used to working in high temperatures, allowing him to deal with extreme heat better than most

WEAKNESSES

  • Inaccurate: While Gel is a dangerous opponent to fight in a melee, he is laughably incompetent when it comes to shooting blasters or other ranged weapons, making him a liability when attempting to fight from range
  • Large: Standing at nearly six and a half feet tall, Gel is a rather large target, making it much easier for enemy attacks to reach him and his massive frame
  • Guility: Gel is crushed by the weight of his guilt, having forged weapons and armor for the Mandalorians and their Sith allies before he defected to the Iron Covenant

HISTORY

For nearly a decade, Gel Karn was one of the most talented armorers in the Mandalorian Empire, though the recent Mandalorian alliance with the Sith has caused Gel to question his loyalty and ultimately led to his defection to the Iron Covenant. Prior to this, Gel had forged thousands of weapons and armors for the Mandalorians, weapons and armors that he saw being used to assist the Sith Order in their takeover of the galaxy. Having remembered what the Sith had done to Mandalore not too long ago, Gel destroyed his home forge and fled to the Iron Covenant.

Once safely escaped, Gel would link up with Siv Dragr Siv Dragr , pledging his service to him in atonement for the weapons and equipment that he had forged for the traitorous Mandalorians. Siv would go on to accept his service, and soon Gel had a new home forge to work in, where he crafted his new set of armor and then quickly went to work on outfitting the men and women of the Iron Covenant. Now, Gel continues his all important work of ensuring that the Iron Covenant remains as well equipped as possible, and he is ready to risk his life by following his brothers and sisters-at-arms into battle, providing them with in field support whenever it might be needed.
