- Design is optimized for throwing, though the weapon can also be used as a regular knife or dagger
- Can be thrown from either the handle of the weapon or the blade of the weapon itself
- The Baradium Payload is activated by pressing down on the weapon's Thumb Trigger Detonator, exploding a few seconds after being activated
- The Thumb Trigger Detonator can be disengaged, cancelling the weapon's detonation sequence until reengaged by the user
- KABOOM: As its namesake might suggest, the Baradium Throwing Knife is highly explosive, able to inflict grievous damage when detonating
- Blast radius: The blast radius on the Baradium Throwing Knife is surprisingly large for a weapon of its type
- Stabby stab: The Baradium Throwing Knife can also be used as a regular knife or dagger in close quarters combat
- Handy: Baradium Throwing Knives are quite small and rather lightweight, making them easy to use and carry in large numbers
- Accurate: The Baradium Throwing Knife was designed to be thrown and is quite accurate when flung at enemies
- Sharp: Though they are not vibroblades, Baradium Throwing Knives are still quite sharp and are able to inflict serious stabbing and slashing damage
- KABOOM: When the Baradium Throwing Knife explodes, it does not differentiate between friend or foe, making the potential for friendly fire quite high
- Singular: Baradium Throwing Knives can only be detonated once, as the entire weapon will inevitably be destroyed in the ensuing explosion
- Short: When not thrown, Baradium Throwing Knives have a rather short reach, especially when compared to other melee weapons
- Full offensive: Baradium Throwing Knives cannot be used to block or parry blows in the way other melee weapons might be able to
- Premature: It is quite possible for the user of the weapon to accidentally activate the weapon's detonation sequence without realizing, with potentially catastrophic results
- Regular: These weapons are NOT vibroknives, which somewhat reduces their cutting and stabbing capabilities
As someone who is generally unable to used most forms of blasters and slugthrowers,
The weapon itself is quite simple, being little more than a throwing knife with a hollowed out space for a Baradium charge. To activate the weapon, the user need only press down on its Thumb Trigger Detonator, which will activate the knife's detonation sequence. The user then throws the weapon at their enemies and the Baradium payload detonates a few seconds later, usually killing or at least serverely wounding anything that the weapon has hit. The detonation sequence can be cancelled by simply flicking the detonator back up.
For a weapon of their size, the Baradium Throwing Knife can inflict catastrophic damage when it detonates, especially if the knife ends up lodged inside another person or droid. These knives could potentially even be used to damage critical points on vehicles such as walkers or landspeeders if thrown toward the correct place. Great care, however, must be taken not to accidentally depress the Thumb Trigger Detonator without realizing it, or the weapon will simply explode right in the user's hand.
