Intent: To cash in on Naamah's Silver Prize by giving her some armour.
Development Thread: Omega Silver Tier Prize (for stygium), Hi Ho Hi Ho, Its Off To Work We Go (for phrik)
Manufacturer: Firemane Industries & Technology
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Naamah Aesham
Modularity: Minor; databracer, utility belt, and other toys can be swapped out for similar alternatives, but the armor itself isn't modular.
Production: Unique

Material: Phrik armour plates, stygium (personal cloaking), armourweave with cryo underlay, transparisteel (faceplate)
Classification: Multipurpose (Stealth Armour, Anti-Blaster, Anti-Lightsabre)
Weight: 6kg
Quality: Overall 6

Special Features:

  • Stygium cloaking, near-invisibility to sensors. Enhanced by sound dampeners and sensor scrambler.
  • In order to prevent detection via thermal vision, the armour possesses a cryo underlay to keep it appearing cold.
  • Almost immune to lightsabres (anywhere outside the joints and non-phrik areas)
  • Resistent to sonic damage due to Sonic Dampeners.
  • Full HUD suite with multispectrum visor with infrared and thermal settings. Also has low-light and ultraviolet settings.
  • Climate control and environmental shielding, sealed helmet with 4 hours of oxygen
  • Integrated databracer in left vambrace with encrypted holonet connection
  • Utility belt holds ammo, spare power packs, and other tools such as grappling hooks and a combat de-ioniser.
  • Left forearm features a retractable durasteel blade 30cm long.
  • Sonic dampening boots with magnetic setting

The armour contains the following tech components:

Strengths:
  • The stygium cloaking, enhanced by various gadgets, make this a formidable stealth suit. Specialised training is needed to move while wearing the suit without disrupting the field. A Taozin Amulet is integrated into the suit and blurs and clouds Force Senses, making it more difficult for Force-users to spot the wearer.
  • Thanks to phrik, the armour offers solid protection against both lightsabres, conventional melee weapons and blasters. Thus it combines infiltration capabilities with the ability to protect its wearer, should Naamah find herself in a combat situation.
  • The suit is outfitted with several gadgets that help in various tasks, ranging from stealth to espionage to combat. These make it quite versatile and enable the wearer to adjust to a variety of situations, without overloading it.
Weaknesses:
  • Despite making use of phrik plating, it sacrifices the protective qualities of heavier armour. All in all, the armour represents a compromise between protection and stealth. Greater bulk and heavier plating would've been detrimental to the suit's stealth capabilities. Armour-piercing slugs and explosives can cause significant damage, cracking or penetrating the armour and hurting the wearer.
  • Tying in with the above, kinetic damage cannot be fully negated. Heavy impacts and falls can pulp the fragile body inside, even if the armoured shell is not penetrated.
  • Beyond making it more difficult to perceive the wearer via the Force, the suit is purely conventional. Thus it offers no protection against mental and non-physical Force attacks. As the example of Lord Pavan shows, even a Taozin amulet cannot hide you forever, as Darth Maul was able to hunt him down via his Force tracking skills.
  • Stealth cannot be active all the time and isn't particularly useful if the wearer is already under attack. Likewise, running can disrupt the stealth field. Initiating an attack drops the cloak. While stealth attacks are possible, the wearer obviously cannot sneak up to a PC and do something along the lines of 'I sneak towards you totally unnoticed and stick a lightsabre through your throat without you being able to do anything'.

Description: After many close calls with death, Naamah eventually came to the conclusion that she needed a decent suit of armour. This was a bitter pill for her to swallow, and clashed with the Clawdite's somewhat self-destructive attitude. However, over time she realised that her attempt to walk the road of atonement would be a short one if pride prevented her from protecting herself.

She was sufficiently incentivised after fighting Archangel's droid operatives on Kaeshana and almost dying, before she was saved by Darth Skygge, and her infiltration of the Rogue Sith's operations. During the course of that mission, she not only discovered the Omega, but managed to abscond with blueprints for a stealth suit.

Naamah is not a battering ram and, when all is said and done, not an exceptional Force-user. She has some skill in Force Cloak and in concealing her Force signature, but both skills are quite taxing for her. Thusly, she relies more on conventional weapons, her wits and her natural abilities as a shapeshifter. A suit of armour that would both provide protection and some stealth capabilities was ideal for her. As a former Inquisitor, the Clawdite already possessed a Taozin amulet, which had been standard issue for both the old Galactic Empire's Inquisitorius and the Atrisian Inquisition.

In the lead-up to the Omega War, Naamah infiltrated the Rogue Sith's ranks and even discovered the location of the superweapon. She was able to abscond with Stygium Crystals and blueprints for a stealth suit during her escape before the fireworks began. Eventually, she enlisted Firemane's help to make a suit of armour for her. Conveniently, she'd sent them information about the Omega and, moreover, their intel chief just happened to be Mirien Valdier, her former boss.

Thus the appropriately named Geist Stealth Armour was born. Since Lady Kerrigan owed her (much to the Countess' annoyance), Naamah was able to acquire a small quantity of phrik the corporation happened to have lying around. Since the armour was designed to be light and afford her great mobility, the phrik armour plating would not have the same protective qualities as the battle suits used by Firemane's elite operatives, but it would help her avoid getting killed by sabre jockeys or Archangel's homicidal HRDs.

The key characteristic of the suit is the stealth system. The integrated stealth field generator makes use of Stygium crystals and is built right into the armour, similar to the suits worn by Blackhole's Shadow stormtroopers. Sound dampening equipment helps keep the soldier's steps quiet while they sneak around. The stealth system makes the wearer almost invisible to sensors and ordinary soldiers. The HUD display allows the wearer to keep track of the state of the armour and the stealth system. All in all, the cloaking device has enough juice to run for about six hours before it needs to be recharged. The stealth capabilities are boosted by the Taozin amulet, which makes it more difficult to perceive the wearer through the Force. A cryo underlay helps shroud the wearer's heat signature by making the wearer appear cold. However, the camouflage is not perfect and requires careful use in order to be efficient.
