  HISTORY​

  Born during the tail end of the Second Great Hyperspace War, Garik was raised mostly in an era of peace and reconstruction. The son of an admiral and a starfighter general he moved around a lot, mostly between Corellia, his father's homeworld, and Coruscant. His brother was a Jedi Padawan and his sister at the CorSec academy and so he mostly grew up as an only child, though his siblings were never too far away. When he became of age after his schooling he joined the military. When he expressed a wish to join the GADF his father had him sent to the Gilad Pellaeon War College and Officer's Academy. He hated that his father's influence in the Alliance was able to give him such an unfair advantage and so after his first year he had his last name changed to Cartwright, after his mother as a way to avoid any special treatment. Unbeknownst to him, his mother, despite being a flight instructor back home on Corellia, was also a hero of the old Alliance and so his family legacy continued to follow him. He did graduate without needing the intervention of his parents though and joined the Alliance Navy as a Lieutenant.
