Professor of Alchemy
Name: Gallos

Region: Uknown
System: Gallian
Suns: 1
Orbital Position: Closer edge of habitable zone with respect to the sun
Moons: 3
Coordinates: If I am reading the Map right, L4, west of Bastion and above the 'X' in 'Braxant Run'.
Rotational Period: 29 galactic standard hours
Orbital Period: 386 days

Class: Terrestrial
Diameter: 14,547 km
Atmosphere: 1
Climate: Moist
Gravity: Standard
Primary Terrain: Tropical Rainforest

Native species: Acklay, Armadid, Binarian Sabercat, Panthac, Narglatch, Nightshrike, Rancor, Tumnor
Immigrated species: Chrysalide Rancors, Chuk'a, Umrach, Vagh Rodiek, Yargh'un
Primary languages: Galactic Standard(If you can find any sentients at all)
Government: Differing tribes elect or impose their leadership in differing fashions, with no consistent trend amongst the whole.
Population: Estimations round Gallos's population go from anywhere to 500,000 to less than 100,000. As the planet is teeming with wildlife
Demonym: Those Poor Bastards, or Gallians if you prefer to be politically correct
Major cities: Though there are no currently inhabited cities, there are a few overgrown and crumbling ruins of former civilization that can be found on world. However, any sentients on world treat them as forbidden lands and don't remember what the names of any of the cities are. Similarly, no records exist detailing the city names or functions.
Major imports: Currently nothing, but in the event of colonization heavy deforestation equipment would be needed to clear space for a landing pad as well as any outposts. Once that is established the primary import would be mining equipment, with security and hunting equipment being second and third respectively.
Major exports: Cortosis, exotic wildlife
Affiliation: Currently chaos in general, but Galactic Imperium in the future.

Culture: Those cultures that do remain are primitive, superstitious, and are largely advanced hunter-gatherers, similar to the Witches of Dathomir except without the Force and the matriarchal tendencies.
Technology: Almost all technology has been destroyed, consumed, excreted, and otherwise dealt with. The small amounts of technology that remain are all pre-gulag tech, and largely worthless on the current galactic market.
History:
Gallos, since the farthest back recorded history went, had always been a hostile world. There were no Dark Side Nexuses or other such abnormal/supernatural shenanigans, it was merely a world that demonstrated the true capitalization and chaos of life unaltered civilization, where the only law was that of natural selection. Early in it's history the Munn attempted colonization but found they did not have the resolve to continue on, or perhaps that it was not worth the investment, depending on who you ask as they discovered that the planet didn't have any herbivores on world, that literally had evolved to hunt or died out. During the Infinite Empire, the Hutt Empire, and the Sith Empire under and before Darth Vitiate the planet was also attempted to be colonized, again with little effect. The Galactic Governments however were far more resourceful in their usage of the planet, and used it as a sort of prison world, or death sentence rather, with offenders being thrown onto the planet through various means.

Unlike Dathomir however, the prison transfers were scattered and irregular, never leaving too many people in one place, and never unloading males and females(or any other known reproductive groupings) within the same hemisphere. The typical life expectancy of someone exiled to the planet was a week, though it was a bit skewed due to half the prisoners dying on impact due to technical failure and/or landing in the wrong spot. Life expectancies of prisoners who survived the landing was anywhere from three weeks to two months, but all eventually died. It wasn't until Vitiate's Empire that a team finally managed to survive it's harsh environment, although the journey was not intended. A party of Sith Knights had crashed onto the planet after a brief aerial skirmish. Unable to repair their ship with resources on hand, the team was forced to adventure around the planet in an attempt to find the wreckage and parts of old prison vessels, and fix or construct a new ship out of old parts in order to escape.

The process took nearly two years, but armed with lightsabers, blasters, and the Force they managed to make it with surprisingly little casualties. They thus found it's use as a prison colony appropriate, and maintained a loose file of the various flaura and fauna they found along the way. Their most important discovery however, was a cave near one of the local rivers. After exploring the undergound they found a deep and complex system of natural forming caverns and tunnels that spanned kilometers throughout the planet. After their quick search they left and went to find more caverns, eventually finding many such entrances around the planet. Once survival and measuring equipment was gathered the team braved the tunnels below, and eventually resulting in the death of one of the Sith Knights, who came into contact with pure, unrefined Cortosis and was melted nearly instantly. The other Sith Knights, realizing what had happened, promptly fled the caverns and elected not to return, but kept the knowledge of it's existence in their back of their heads.

When the party finally managed to construct a suitable ship to get out they headed off to report their findings, and with cortosis being the valuable material it is, attempts were made to colonize and establish a mining operation of the planet immediately. With the ruthlessness and brutal efficiency only an Empire ran by cultists could achieve sections of the planets were quickly razed, to be replaced by outposts, landing pads, and mining operations. Though the life expectancy of both the miners and the security was rather small, the paychecks were not, and as such Gallos had a constant supply of workers. With the constant influx of workers and the proximity of the planet to Bastion the planet quickly became a hotspot and an integral part of the Sith Empire's war effort and economy.

But of course, the Sith Empire did not last forever. As the Sith-Republic war raged on those who would typically get security jobs on world ended up joining the Army and Navies of the Sith, willingly or otherwise. This resulted in the colony becoming understaffed and unsecure, which only managed to last for so long before the colony itself was overrun and abandoned. As Cortosis was deemed to be to valuable a commodity to fall into the wrong hands any record of the planet being used as anything other than a prison colony was destroyed before the Republic discovered the planets true potential. As the centuries and millennium passed by the planet was largely untouched, only being visited by those unlucky enough to crash or foolish enough to try a big game hunt. That was, until Palpatine showed up.

Palpatine, as most history records show, was into a lot of weird and paranoid crap, and wanted to know everything about everyone everywhere, and thus when he became Emperor the planet was explored and scanned for potential resources and/or potential to hid mischievous and evil things. The Cortosis mines were of course, rediscovered and minor operations were conducted, but the primary interest of Palpatine was not blocking all the lightsabers who's wielders he had already executed and driven out, but the tumultuous environment of the planet itself. Being the alchemist he was, Palpatine recognized the planets potential as a place to gather specimens, as well as test out new alchemized creatures against a brutal yet still Force-less nature. Therefore he used the planet as a testing ground and resource for the making of his Chrysalide Rancors. Eventually when the Empire fell. After Palpatine's 'death' the planet remained in the control of Imperial Remnant, which largely abandoned it's cortosis mines, not wanting to spend the money to deal with the indigenous population as well for a product who's returns were questionable with the lack of melee combat and how much cost it would take to add to starship hulls.

Thus, once again the planet fell into obscurity, until the attacks of the Yuuzhan Vong. As the children of Yuuzhan sought to cleanse the galaxy of the heathenous technology and terraform they went to Gallos despite it's danger and found it largely to their liking, and cleared out a few cities, hunted Chrysalide Rancors to near extinction, and then used the planet as a base for their shapers. The Chrysalide Rancors had already begun breeding with the baseline rancors however and appear every few generations when the genetic stars align. Once the Yuuzhan Vong had been driven out of the galaxy the planet returned to it's near-unusable state for the next half century, with mild attempts at colonization and big game hunting failing every few years, until one of the big game hunters struck big and found the cortosis filled caverns below. The Fel Empire, current owners of the territory, jumped on the opportunity and lead a large and dedicated effort to colonize and begin mining the planet. Bases were made, shielding erected, wildlife hunted, and over the next few decades and centuries livable pockets were made on the planet next to mines, and actual progress was being made, throughout the Fel Empire, the Sith Empire, and the Fel Empire once again.

That all stopped when the Gulag plague hit however. The near galaxy-wide quarantine of each and every individual planet was a death sentence for the people of Gallos, more so than the plague itself. Bunkers gave way, ammo ran out, and people died in droves. Small pockets of people survived, but the toll of 400 years of isolation presumably killed off any and all survivors. As the galaxy recovered from the Gulag Plague and the galaxy began to reach out to itself once again Gallos was again overlooked, and has not yet been integrated into any galactic governments.

Notable PC's: None Currently, though it is planned to become a planet of the Empire, and would thus become a new territory for a Moff to

Intent: To give a planet to the Galactic Imperium to allow it to expand, as well give a minor source of Cortosis to help give the Imperium a legitimate means of creating the Cortosis Gauntlet of the Imperial Knight's canonical uniform.
