Galactic Systems Senate proposal

I was discussing an idea with a few members about the fact that the Republic has the only venue for Senate characters and a thought occurred to me. A faction could be created for any planetary representatives, regardless of affiliation, to join and discuss any planetary matter with other planetary leaders and reach a goal. Any topic could be tabled from declarations of war to request for aid and discussed. The chair person would be elected by the members of the faction and could be anyone regardless of faction affiliation.

This is a basic idea. Would anyone be interested in that kind of political body?

Based on current response I'll go ahead with this and propose another idea. That is allowing companies with reasonable galactic presence to join. Would that make sense?

Though my own planet of Gulamendis is one of constant purposeful conflict and suffering, and their primary source of income is raiding other factions and planets, I could see my planet being the North Korea of this senate, if you would even accept me
