Galactic News Network (Subsidiary)

Corporation Name: Galactic News Network
Headquarters: Corellia, previously Coruscant
Locations: Corellia, Coruscant, Mon-Calamari, Dantooine, Nal-Hutta, Endor, Bothawui, Mandalore
Operations: Provide Galactic News to the farthest reaches of the Galaxy. Breaking news when it matters, Up to the Date Weather, sports and the like.
Rationale: Subsidary of Incom Corporation. Incom Corporation is re-doing the Carreras G-51 Communications array.
Tier: II
Description: Galactic News Network was founded on the principle of providing news coverage to every corner of the Galaxy. Initially started out as Holonet News but expanded over the years at the start of the Galactic Civil War under the watchful eye of Palpatine and his war agenda. Upon the destruction of the Empire and the start of the New Republic, GNN grew into a more independent news agency and started covering everything from the basics of local news to Galactic wide events. When the Yuuzhan Vong arrived in 19 ABY, they were there to cover it. When the 2nd Galactic Civil War Started, and the rise of the One Sith a hundred years later happened, GNN was there. During the later years, GNN became a house brand and was one of the forefront news agencies during the initial stages of the Gulag Plague outbreak. GNN suffered many loses and subsequently closed it's doors at the height of the plague. After the four hundred year darkness, GNN came back strong, being bought out by Incom Corporation in 827 ABY. Over the past ten years, GNN has been covering stories for citizens all over the galaxy and was one of the first to break the viral video during the Dark Harvest.

In the interest of allowing everyone the possibility of owning a CC writers, not characters are limited to owning one Canon Company per account. It should be noted that this does not count subsidiaries of companies. For Example Blas-Tech Industries has Tarascii Explosives as one of it's subsidiaries, and thus a player would naturally own Tarascii by owning Blas-Tech. We'd also prefer players not to own more than one Corporation at or above Tier IV, so as to minimize a few players owning a significant portion of the galactic economy.
The example used, Tarascii Explosives, is an existing canon subsidiary of BlasTech. GNN is not a canon subsidiary of Incom, and as non-canon corporations aren't allowed canon corporations as subsidiaries, we can't create a two-tier system where only people who own canon corporations can take other canon corporations as their subsidiaries. Nor can we allow people to collect canon corporations as subsidiaries to get around the one-canon-corporation-per-writer rule. Also, GNN is probably worth more than Incom.

For those reasons, this submission is denied.
