The Galactic Labor Corps is a Temporary employment service and general labor organized service corps that contracts out its members to planetary/galactic governments and companies for the purpose of providing cheap, skilled and unskilled labor for Public works projects and private enterprise. The Labor Corps is comprised of a robust host of motivated, thrifty general laborers who wish to find fulfilling employment in a part-time, full-time and temporary field of worker doing anything from Menial labor to Custodial work. The Labor Corps is a worker-owned collective organization and is completely voluntary, administrative personnel are paid via a dues systems from participating workers and these workers are given minor employment stipends whilst in-between work, otherwise all payment of the Labor Corps members are detailed by Public or private contract. The Corps is separated into various administrative departments based on worker skill/education and on particular trade of its members, for instance, their is a Custodial & Customer Service Division, a Construction and Menial Labor Department, a Clerical Department, A carpenters agency, A Space-Mariner and Space-Port Hand Department, a Manufacturing Department and Agricultural Workers Division.
In those instances where a private business or government cannot or will not provide utilities and equipment for Galactic Labor Corps workers for large scale projects and outfits, the Corps Finance & Acquisitions Sub-Committee (Committee of the primary worker's council) will plan and pool resources together to provide said needed utilities and even has its own Fleet of personnel carriers and transports on hand for its workers, providing them with transport to and from their job-sites and to haul needed equipment to and from job-sites. As well, utilities that can be deployed include the providing of uniforms, tools, on-site barracks and dining facilities and General Needs store, Day/Night care for families with children/elderly and so forth. Many on the Collectivized Labor & Trade Council provide their own resources voluntarily to the organization, donating funds and physical assets for use by GLC members. The GLC is not a Humanocentric organization, as such their is a diverse number of species represented within the GLC, it is an inclusive, equal opportunity interstellar unit allowing membership for any who desire it.
RATIONALE
Wran is not the sole Administrative Director of any one of the Corps's departments or divisions, but holds a Senior Members position in the Agriculture, Space-Mariners and Space-Port workers as well as C&M Labor Departments. He has worked for much of his life thus far with these three sub-sections of the organization and is a Senior Dues paying member, occasionally he does Administrative work for the Corps in general. Wren is an active sitting member of the Corps's sitting Labor Council and Trade Union board which acts as the authority behind the day-to-day administrative actions of the Corps and as a Collective-Bargaining Unit on behalf of members. This council, composed of about 100 members with a presiding elected chairperson, conducts contractual agreements with Governments and Private businesses, setting up employment opportunities for its wider General Laborer membership (Essentially a Private Worker's Council that provides workers to governments and private organizations with benefits for voluntary membership amongst Laborers)
