Strengths:

  • Limited Crew: Everyone has a purpose on the ship, no random soldiers standing about. No clutter onboard

  • Heavy Weapons: Big guns, little guns, all of them for the purpose of neutralizing other capital ships and defending itself.

  • Speed: Out paces other vessels of its size and class.
Weaknesses:

  • Boarding: Should the vessels be boarded, with a lack of actual soldiers acting as passengers, only gunners and essential personnel present, it’d be easy to overwhelm the crew.

  • Single Purpose: Combatting other capital ships. No fighter screens, only defenses are what it sports. Requires an escort.

  • Hangar: Without the space of a hangar for actual ground troops, it forces the Bloodfin’s to actually be apart of taskforces. Typically limits it to patrolling borders.

  • Docking Tubes: Areas where the docking tubes are located feature thinner metal, easily breached.

  • Maneuverability: Basically none. Takes forever to turn.

Description:
After facing off against Stormtroopers on the planet Zarnathea, it was clear that the First Order wasn’t going to be stopped by mere rebels and sympathizers. They needed actual weapons, training, the tools necessary to make victory a possibility. Even if the Zarnatheans had been given the weapons to defend themselves on the ground, without the warships that the First Order possessed, they had been destined to lose from the beginning.

Tasked by High Command to develop new ship designs, Captain Jax Hastings, and Jedi attendant Aerion Ivelisse had set out immediately to perform their new duties. Their first mission? Testing out the hyperdrive distances and speeds of the prototype. The second mission had been an engagement with Liz the Fourth’s Pirate Fleet in orbit of Arrgaw, after having left in the middle of fitting the Hypervelocity cannons to its hull to aide their allies, and to primarily test out the weapons.

Created for the single purpose of neutralizing other Capital ships, the Bloodfin Dreadnoughts lack a hangar so that they could afford more in the form of weapons, shields, and reinforced hull plating. With the lack of a hangar, so too does it lack the tools necessary for a planetary assault in the form of vehicles. Walkers, speeders, and the like are serve no purpose on the Warship.

Manned solely by crewmen, gunners, and droids, the Bloodfin is only called home by those who have a purpose on starships. Bridge sealed away into the centre of the ship, secured via dozens of bulkhead doors, ventable airlocks and cameras for security, the ship tends to be vulnerable alone. Usually found surrounded by support craft, carriers and the like to deploy troops and fighters to aid in the defense of the hull, coupled with the ships on flak guns and long-range weaponry, it focuses on the aspect of long range combat.

this is way too fast for a ship this size. normal speed for even a destroyer is 17. Please make the maneuvering and speed ratings 15

please add the hanger field back into the submission and just put a N/A or none in the field if it has no fighter craft squadrons.

your looking at 18 posts of development which makes up for the extra armament rating but not enough to compensate for the unbalance in the speed and maneuvering as above make them 15. this is still faster than standard and goes along with your weaknesss

also up the weapons. :)

Fixed up the Hypverlocity gun part.

Increased speeds and maneuverability to 15.

At the bottom however, I've already linked two development threads with an accumulation of 19 posts from both threads.

Also, what would be the fastest of this ship? In my first development thread I was putting some emphasis on the ship being fast. Am I still able to trade out maneuverability for speed, and if so, what kind of stats am I looking at?

when i said up the weapons I did not mean the armament rating itself sorry for the confusion. No the weapons load you have is not = to 18 as the armaments are now its more along the lines of an armament rating of 14 at most. IF your going to do 18 for armament you need more guns and with that it makes it slower because of mass.

The issue is you have no weakness in stats. You have increased armament, increased defense, increased speed, increased maneuvering. without some serious development you can not have an all Plus ship something has to balance it out even with some development. just for armament 20 normally you will be asked for development
YOu have the 10 posts needed for the size. then you have nine extra posts which will not cover everything being increased.

with the weapons you have, and the defenses you have I would put the armament at 14, the defense at 14 and use that development to get your speed down to 12 with maneuvering at 17.

you are not losing any weapons over your original design just making the rating represent the weapons load. Defense wise you have nothing really really special to make the defense high.

but to get armament 18 like the original you would need some more development anyway without reducing the speed and maneuvering.

so if you want to do more work and get the stats up to where you want them then we can discuss some more development. IF not. make Armament 14, Defense 14, Speed 12, and maneuvering 17. 12 is the fastest you will get a ship this size realistically. with no attack craft and 9 posts of development.

we could visit making this a patrol destroyer and reduce some weapons make get it faster. It is the right size and would just need some decrease in armament and defense but you could get it faster.

Ii get your wanting a fast destroyer. Which is cool but you can not have full size destroyer guns on a fast destroyer without alot of development.
