STRENGTHS
  • Hidden Protection: Few would expect the silk jacket to stop blaster fire.

  • Tailored Fit: Custom made to each individual, owners may additionally specify liner patterns or other cosmetic details.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sleeveless Coat: Although long on one side, arms and other extremities are left outside the protective covering.
  • Black 'Fur': While resistant to staining, threads may clump or mat if spilled on until properly cleaned.
  • Kinetics: While the enviroweave offers some protection, the coat lacks rigidity or mass to slow a kinetic strike, leaving the wearer to take the full brunt of the attack.
DESCRIPTION
Unsatisfied with her recent creations and the slow rate of custom work, Chi decided to break into the high-class personal defense market. 'Invisible protection for those that are at risk of kidnapping, assassination, or even a simple mugging without intruding on lifestyle or comfort' was the goal Chi set herself when starting the project.

To that end she selected Karlini Silk for the Peko Coat's outer layer and teased its strands into a fashionable fur-like pattern to form the first layer of defense against blaster fire. Well known for its own energy blocking properties, the rare and exquisite Vong-beget Glistaweb was chosen for an inner lining and interwoven with strands of shimmersilk to make intricate glowing patterns. Sandwiched between the two protective layers is a thin skein of unnoticeable enviroweave. This final layer provides a bevy of benefits, the greatest of which is keeping the wearer warm and dry while blocking the wind, tasks the otherwise light silk jacket may struggle with outside of milder climates.

During testing, Chi deemed the coat was perfect for stopping a few hasty shots while protecting the vitals. But repeated strikes would begin to burn away the protective silk. While the large hood added additional coverage for the head, it still left the wearer's face vulnerable and could fall down while running, making it more an environmental consideration.
