GABRIEL HYNATOS UMBERHORN

BACKGROUND

In his younger years he went through many trials and tribulations within the Furnace to take up the position of First Prince of Cantoi under the orders of his Master, and later assumed the title of Lord Hycantoi, representative of his planet on the galactic stage, leaving home for the stars at the age of 20. During this period of his life he served on the front line of many boarding actions against pirates and any minor conflicts that happened in the area. He was known amongst his men for his excellent boarding actions and like any Hycantoi, he excelled in urban/close quarters combat.
Through this role he liaisons with the CIS in order to further the growth of his planet. However, as the CIS waned in influence the economy of his home began to struggle. He was forced to return home to assist his father, the ruling king, in his attempts to maintain stability in Hycantoi society. Gabriel began to press the planets' need to tap into their Cortosis reserves to bolster their economy. However his father was stubborn and would rather let his planet starve than touch such a sacred resource.

Gabriel could no longer stand his father's inaction and soon began to seek the support of many nobles and business owners. Once he was ready he requested that his father step down. With his refusal, a brutal civil war lasting nearly nine years broke out. The outer ring was devastated, and his people massacred in the hundreds on a daily basis. Gabriel did not shy away from the bloodshed and put himself at the forefront of the rebellion he started.

After those long years, millions were dead, and the planet needed to recover quickly. Turbulent winds similar to the ones from the planet's past carrying dark whispers and disease swept through the capital, killing many more. Gabriel immediately set out to expand their mining capabilities and expand their trade networks. Now with his planet under his complete rule he once again sets out onto the galactic stage.

PERSONALITY

A cold and brutal man, Gabriel will do anything to serve the greater good for his people. His training under the Red Brethren has made him steely and unburdened by everyday interactions. Gabriel has no close relationships and is very driven when it comes to his goals.

STRENGTHS
​

+Royal Education- Many tutors in varying fields assisted a young Gabriel in fields such as commerce, military strategy, and more.
+Red Brethren- Gabriel was trained by the Red Brethren from a young age, having survived their initiation rites and training over many years he has become adept in all force techniques and martial arts practiced by the tradition. He also excels in their focus of hunting sorcerers, and blacksmithing techniques.
+Heat Resistance- Gabriel having been exposed to the force imbued furnace of the Fan and the Flame for extended periods and has developed a heat resistance outside of the bounds of human limits.
+Martial Arts- From his royal tutors, to the skilled warriors of the Red Brethren, Gabriel has been forged into a master martial artist of many disciplines. He tends to rely on striking techniques and throws.
+Force Master- He has access to all force techniques taught by the Red Brethren. He particularly excels in the usage of force convection and pyrokinesis.
+Spartan Training- His main weapons are the spear and double-edged sword, usually accompanied by a shield. He is a genius in swordsmanship in particular and tends to favor a sword over a spear.

WEAKNESSES

-Tormented by sins- Because of the recent bloodshed in such a concentrated area, and the loss of millions in his planet's capital, the dark winds of the planet torment the mind of him, and any other force sensitive on the planet, with constant whispers, pleas, and wails of the dead.
-Poor Vehicle Handling - DO NOT allow him to drive expensive vehicles or aircraft.
-Red Brethren Training - His training with the Red Brethren focused on control and inner strength, and as such rarely employs more subversive force techniques.
-End of the line - Having personally slain or been responsible for the slaying of all those who could lay claim to the throne of Cantoi he is the last member of the royal bloodline of the Hynatos.
-Discontent- Gabriel is a warrior through and through, while he takes his role as King seriously, he'd prefer to further the goals of the Red Brethren on the field of battle.
