- Designed with Stealth and Subterfuge in mind, outfitted with noise inhibitors, a Reflec Coating, Optical Camouflage Systems, and Magseals explicitly designed to wear cosmetic plates over the primary ones to disguise as another faction or organization.
- Unlike many armors of its type, this armor offers a high resistance to EMP and Ion-type weaponry, helpful not only against enemies armored with that type of weaponry, but also to avoid friendly fire in sabotage scenarios
- The armor is specifically alloyed to be very light for the level of protection it offers, giving the wearer plenty of mobility and range of motion as well as allowing complex movements such as in martial arts or the like.
- Outside of the Conventional forms of weaponry - Energy, Kinetic, and Ionic - this armor doesn't offer very strong, if any, resistances to more irregular and nonconventional weaponry, like sonic weapons, many chemical weapons, or lightsabers. It's designed for subterfuge, rather than the battlefield, and this shows.
The covert operations forces of the Galactic Alliance Strategic Intelligence Agency required an armor that provided adequate protection against conventional enemy weapons while also providing a high degree of mobility and stealth for covert operations. The resulting product, designed and produced by Creshaldyne Industries, was the S-01 Covert Operations Armor. While outfitted with many of the systems expected in modern combat armor, and using a plastoid-betaplast alloy in its primary plates, the S-01 borrows from the armor of the little-known Clone Shadow Troopers and Covert Ops Clone Troopers of the Galactic Republic of antiquity to provide armor specifically designed for use by the elite covert forces of the Galactic Alliance, namely Task Force Vornskr
The suite of equipment explicitly designed for covert and stealth operations are absolutely key to making this armor stand out among its peers. Like the clone troopers of yore, it is covered with a coating of Reflec Polymer which stops and warps many of the most common sensors signals, while also warping light to a lesser degree. Perhaps most unique, mag-seals on the outer plates allow for wearers of the armor to attach cosmetic plates, which can disguise the armor as that of another military or mercenary organization, or disguise the bodily outline, and thus the species, of the wearer.
These traits combined make this armor an expensive yet effective tool in the hands of the secretive covert unit tasked with defending the alliance by any means the agency deems necessary.
