Private Future to Come

There was an itch growing in Iandre. Not exactly homesickness, but something akin to it. She was more than happy within the fold of both the Diarchy and with Rellik, but she missed some of her old life. The Lilaste Order did a great job at keeping her busy, but they were military, and she sought peace. So, for the lack of a better explanation, she decided to go on a walkabout. Iandre wasn't one to walk away from duty, and she did feel some guilt, but she needed to get away. At least for a time.

Knowing what had happened in the Core, she wouldn't be making a journey there. Even if she no longer thought of herself as a Jedi, she was not dark or imperial. It would be a death sentence, and she wasn't ready to die. She had survived over 900 years in a form of Force stasis and wasn't about to give up now.

While she allowed the Force to guide her much of the time, this was something she needed to do for her mental state. Packing up a bag, she left her armor behind and climbed aboard a public shuttle that would take her to another world. Leaning back in her seat, she closed her eyes. Just resting, not meditating. She would never do that in space again, if she could avoid it.

The marketplace was smaller than most Valery had visited, but it had charm. Local stalls lined the uneven paths, each one packed with goods that smelled of spice, leather, or freshly baked bread. She had no real destination in mind, just a list in her head of things the triplets might like, and maybe something for Kahlil too.

Valery held up a small stuffed Tauntaun doll, its ears a bit crooked and one eye stitched on sideways. "Aurra would love it. Aeryn would tear it apart in a day," she muttered to herself before setting it back down. She moved along the row and picked up a carved wooden ship next, brushing her fingers along the smooth hull. "Hmm... Adam would crash this into the wall five minutes after getting home. Definitely his."

After a few more steps, her eyes landed on a vendor selling ugly sweaters. Her mind immediately drifted to Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble and the Wampa sweater collection she had gifted him over the years. This shop probably had one, too, and she even spotted a wookiee one that would easily fit.

She snorted softly at the thought and moved on, humming under her breath.

When the transport landed, she walked off the ship. Iandre was watching where she was going, but didn't know what she was supposed to be doing here. Her attention was drawn by some hawkers who wanted to take her credits for something worthless. Ignoring them, she just kept walking until she found herself in the heart of a small market.

Furrowing her eyebrows, she wandered a little and then sat down. Nothing better to do at the moment than people watch. There wasn't anything in the market she needed or even really wanted. Maybe something might come to mind, but right now, the former Jedi needed guidance and advice.

She had grown up with the rigid rules of the Jedi Order in the days of the Grand Republic. Being far from those days, she felt she had adjusted fairly well. However, when she cast aside her old life and started the new one...pieces of it still haunted her.

Looking at her hands for a moment, she looked up to see a familiar face moving through the market. The dark-haired Jedi master wasn't paying attention to Iandre and probably didn't even know her. They had never actually met, but the young woman had attended a concert where Valory had performed.

Fate seems to have guided Iandre here, and she hesitated for several seconds. Standing up, she approached the humming Valory.

"I like your voice. My name is Iandre Athlea, and I watched you months ago when you were singing on Fondor."

Iandre had not interacted with anybody there, and she was unknown to most people outside of the Diarchy.
