PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Explosive Reactions
    • The Baradium–Phospha Slug contains a volatile, high-energy compound that, when ignited by a reactive coating called phospha, produces an intense, localized thermal-explosive event. The effect is described as superheated "plasma" and concussive force concentrated on impact, capable in of rapidly degrading most common metals, alloys, and leaving severe, permanent charring on exposed tissue. The slugs can masticate through most armor classes and types.
STRENGTHS
  • The Slug
    • Its destructive effect produces a concentrated thermal‑explosive event on impact: far higher localized heat flux and short‑pulse overpressure than conventional projectiles, yielding both melting/chemical erosion of nearby metals and significant concussive disruption at the strike point. Rather than relying solely on kinetic penetration, its damage combines material ablation and shock; in tests against common alloys this manifests as rapid surface breakdown and deep focal compromise rather than clean perforation. The damage to exposed tissue causes severe, thermally driven injury at the impact site with persistent scarring and chemical‑burn characteristics in biological analogs.
WEAKNESSES
  • The Downside
    • The reactive layering that produces its effects also makes the projectile chemically and thermally sensitive; long‑term storage and harsh environmental exposure increase the chance of degradation or unintended activation. Complex internal structure and uneven mass distribution reduce aerodynamic stability and effective range, concentrating reliable performance at short–to–medium distances. Specialized materials and containment techniques raise production cost and lower throughput compared with conventional rounds, limiting availability.
DESCRIPTION

Ajalurk‑Chaidth Kryze's hand in the Baradium–Phospha Slug began as necessity and hardened into obsession. Born amid the scrap‑forges and political fractures of his youth, Ajalurk‑Chaidth first encountered the limits of conventional ordinance while testing beskar reinforcements against emerging battlefield energies. Frustrated by weapons that grazed or stalled against new armors, he set aside doctrine and began a private investigation into materials that reacted not merely by kinetic transfer but by chemical transmutation under impact. The work was secret, iterative, and morally ambiguous from the outset. The project's early phase read like material science reduced to instinct: catalogue anomalous compounds, observe their behavior under inert conditions, and map interactions at a distance rather than in direct trial. Ajalurk‑Chaidth relied on scavenged research, illicit trade in restricted reagents, and the cold precision of forges retooled to mix and stabilize volatile blends.

As the formula evolved, Ajalurk‑Chaidth's focus shifted from novelty to control. He sought a pairing that would ignite predictably on ballistic impact yet remain inert in storage: a two‑part marriage between an exothermic core and a reactive sheath. When a practical slug finally emerged, it carried Ajalurk‑Chaidth's contradictions: an engineered terror that solved a tactical problem while raising new moral ones. To further demonstrate the terror, each slug was created from cortosis for one sole purpose: to bypass the plasma-based blades of lightsabers, by shorting them out as they passed through.
