Funny Meeting You Here (Uther Weiss)

Ossus. A pretty little planet, if you liked that sort of thing. Talia only took in scenery if it was truly one-of-a-kind. It wasn't like she'd never seen a place like this before. Though she had to admit, this Jedi Temple was gorgeous. Simple, yes, but gorgeous. She walked around aimlessly, studying everything she saw. A group training session was going on in the courtyard. Looked like some sort of saber stance they were learning. It was a very cool thing to see. She leaned against one of the arches that led out into the open air and decided to watch for a while.

Nearby, Uther sat by himself under a tree, an orange suspended in the air in from of him at chest level. Slowly, it rotated clockwise as it was peeled apart in slivers. Compared to all the impressive saber play before him, it didn't seem like much, but he was exercising some great precision with his usage of TK, peeling the orange without completely shredding it in the process. Once he was good with oranges, apples would come next.

Having just arrived, everyone was a stranger to him. Just about everyone seemed friendly enough though, so the awkward phase of integration hadn't been so bad. But then, an oddly familiar presence made him pause his peeling and turn his head to view them. It was that witch from Roon, Talia. What was she doing here? He plucked the orange out of the air as he stood up and approached her to find out.

"You didn't find the Templars to your liking?"

Talia's eyes searched around for the face to the voice who'd just spoken to her. They rested on a familiar Echani with beautiful white tattoos. "Hello to you too, Weiss." She smirked, happy to see someone she knew. She shrugged at his question. "Eh. They're perfectly alright. But they aren't my kind of alright. They went their way, and I went mine." She placed a hand on her arm, slightly covering the red tattoo on it. "I'm beginning to think that maybe I don't need to find a place. Maybe fitting nowhere is my place. Being a Mercenary forever doesn't bother me in the slightest." Her piercing blue eyes crinkled at the edges as she smiled at him. "How about you? Are the Jedi to your liking?"
[member="Uther Weiss"]

"I've been liking it here so far. I may never become a Jedi, but I've picked up a lot just being around all them."

While he found the Schism between the Silver Order and the Jedi that remained within the Republic odd in the middle of a war, it at least gave him access to Jedi that weren't consumed with fighting war. He was hoping one of them could help him with his problem before he faced off against the Sith again. He had no master to train under at the moment, but the presence of all the Jedi was enough to allow him to exercise his abilities in depth without fear of possession. He was just about at his skill level with the Force before he had fled the Sith.

"Are you with any company?" He asked as he split his orange in halves, sending one drifting towards her. "I'm looking to gather up my old crew and get a contract with the Republic."

Talia excepted the orange half. "Well, I had a rookie named Wynne following me around for a while, but she eventually went her own way. As of right now, I'm alone." She replied, taking a bite. She'd almost forgotten the taste of the citrusy sweet fruit. "I'm glad your doing well. Takes one less thought off my mind." She eyed him.

That was a strange thing for her to say, but then he recalled how she had tried to cozy up to him. However, he hadn't taken any interest in her at the time, finding her an unwelcome troublemaker. Judging by her looks with those electric blue eyes though, she hadn't really given up trying. Pleased to see a familiar face, he would tolerate her as long as she wasn't too weird about it.

"Why...thank you. Well, I'm the only Force-sensitive in my crew, so it definitely wouldn't hurt to have another. Your thing is pyromancy, right?"

[member="Talia Mark"]

Talia glanced at him nonchalantly, her eyes staying on him as she turned her head to face in front of her. Her eyes sparked bright orange for a moment, and her hand became wreathed in flame. "It has its uses. As does my Magic. If you think you'll need it, I guess I could come along. What does your crew do exactly?"
[member="Uther Weiss"]

Magic she said. He didn't believe in such things, finding all the spells and rituals an archaic method way of accessing the Force. Arguing this assertion never turned out well, however, so he held his tongue about his beliefs. Let her believe what she wanted as long as it didn't hurt anyone.

"Mostly security details within the Republic, some bounty work too if the price is good. Pretty straight forward, which is the way I want to keep it." He took a bite of his half peeled orange, not minding the small spurt of juices from the ripe flesh.

"I would like to see your abilities first hand, care for a little sparing?"

It was ingrained in the Echani that actions spoke louder than words, and no actions spoke greater than the ones that people took in the heat of combat, when they had no choice but to be honest about their character. He wanted to see what kind she was.

Talia let the flames die on her hand. She stopped leaning on the pillar and popped her neck, stretching out her arms and legs a bit. "Sure. Been a while since I've sparred." She looked around until she spoted a decently-sized space in the courtyard where they could proceed without bothering the lesson still taking place. "I'll have to warn you though, my flames tend to scorch anything they touch." She said, smirking. She made her way out to the area she'd picked.

"I could say the same about my saber. I'll be okay."

While it was only a training saber, the practice weapon still packed enough power to dole out some painful stings and burns with hard contact. Taking his position a few meters away in front of her, he unclipped his saber from his belt and ignited the blade of ice blue. He held it with a relaxed stance, blade pointing down to the ground in front of his lead foot.

Talia reached backward and took her beloved staff "Fenny" from its holster, twirling it a bit. She held it slightly behind her, with the top pointing at the ground and the botom pointing upward. She held her free hand out in front of her and bent her knees, ready to leap into action. Lastly, she ignited her hand again. She waited patiently for whatever Uther was to throw at her.

And the first thing he did throw at her was...a slice of his orange, cut from the piece still in his other hand. While still only a piece of fruit, he had accelerated it with enough force to give her a nice welt to the forehead if she let it hit her.

Talia caught the orage in her hand. It crackled and sizzled before turning to ashes. She then hurled a fireball his way. A little Force was put behind it to increase its speed and potentsy. Not enough to seriously hurt him, but still able to burn him a little.

Uther bounded right for her, launching another slice of orange at her midsection as he raised his saber right up at the fireball. As it made contact with the tip of his blade, he twirled the saber around in a tight spiral to disperse the flames as harmless waves of heat.

Talia leapt upward, leaning her torso to the side so that the orange slice couldn't touch her. She did a graceful flip in the air, sending multiple fireballs in uther's direction. She aimed for different parts of his body so that he wouldn't be able to block them all.

He once again took control of the orange slice she had evaded, sending it zipping upward right at her bum. To block the incoming fire, let go of his saber and let it spin above his head like a helicopter, creating a shield to destroy the fireballs. Then he spun around in a slide, plucking his blade into a guard position. He was pleasantly surprised to see that she was much more mobile than she led on as a caster type. While he looked serious, he was in high spirits about their duel, already enjoying it.

Talia sensed the change in the orange's flight path. Before she hit the ground, she twirled around, swiping the slice with her staff. She managed to land on her feet, sliding backward a bit and using her hand to steady herself. She caught the orange slice before it touched the earth and popped it into her mouth.
[member="Uther Weiss"]

As she snacked on the orange slice, he charged at her again in a zig zag motion with his blade still pointed downward. As he closed the distance between them, he split three more slices from his orange, sending one rocketing straight at her, while the other two looped around to hit her from the flanks.

Talia twirled her staff and harnessed her Force Magic. She created a shield of Force Energy around her being, rendering the remaining orange slices useless. She sprinted up to Uther, using her staff as a weapon along with throwing a few flaming fists at him.
