  • The durasteel blade of Frostbyte is enhanced by the Kyber Crystal, giving it multiple powers when activated, including:
~ The same cutting and blocking power as a standard lightsaber
~ The ability to potentially short-circuit heat-driven lightsabers upon contact, given that the kyber crystal’s power derives from extreme cold, not heat
~ A glow of ice-blue light that surrounds the blade
~ A noticeable drop in temperature for those in close proximity to Frostbyte
~ Can potentially freeze liquids upon contact
~ When touched, will quickly freeze skin and flesh. This can cause severe frostbite and can often result in a loss of limb.
~ Wounds inflicted by the blade are immediately cauterized upon impact by the sheer cold of the blade.
~ Blaster bolts are absorbed by the blade, the superheated plasma instantly cooling into vapor as it interacts with the extremely low temperature of the blade.

  • The kyber crystal of Frostbyte is only able to be activated by a true heir of House Layne, worthy of wielding the blade. This force enchantment is rather particular in choosing who is worthy, and often many generations can pass between wielders of the Frostbyte.

  • Forcesaber: Frostbyte is by every means a forcesaber, with all due properties of a forcesaber that aren’t altered by the blade’s unique characteristics.

  • Extreme Cold: The blade of Frostbyte is, unlike Lightsabers, extremely cold instead of extremely hot. Among many things, some noticeable abilities this grants the user of Frostbyte are the power to freeze liquids on contacts, cause extreme cold wounds on victims such as severe frostbite, and lower the temperature of an area within a reasonable radius, depending on the power emitting from the blade.

  • The True Heir: Frostbyte’s kyber crystals, and by extension abilities, are only able to be activated by a ‘true heir of House Layne,’ of which a force enchantment on the blade decides if its user is worthy. If not considered worthy, than the blade is otherwise useless for its user.

  • Not always active: The powers of Frostbyte are only available when the blade is activated by its user, meaning that when deactivated the weapon is just a sword of Durasteel.

  • Darn Lizards: Fields created by Ysalamir and other Force Nullification effects would render the force-imbued power of the blade inactive for however long the blade and its user are affected.

When Berr Layne left the Jedi Order as an exile to settle on Vandor, all those four-hundred years ago, he left all that he had; his weapons, his former life, his wealth and influence. It was on Vandor that he discovered the Frostspear, the mountain in which Frosthall now resides under, and discovered the secrets left within. Thus, Berr Layne crafted the Frostbyte, a unique forcesword that has since become the ancestral weapon of House Layne. Drawing its power from extreme cold, instead of extreme heat like most forcesabers, Frostbyte is an extremely powerful and exotic weapon. Only a worthy heir of House Layne may wield the blade, and thus over four hundred years only a few have aspired to the title of Wielder of the Frostbyte.

Hey there, [member="Beric Layne"], I have a few concerns regarding this, but once we have them addressed we can move right along.

Firstly, as a Force Saber, this weapon would have the inherent weakness that the fields created by Ysalamir as well as any other Force Nullification effects would render it inoperable for the duration of time the weapon/wielder are affected. Please add that in there for me.

Another thing is, while the chilling effect of the blade is fine and canon from various lightsaber crystals, the ability to "freeze other lightsabers" and "shut them off" is not. It's essentially placing a cortosis effect in a lightsaber, and it's simply not canon. Please remove all instances of that from the submission.
