From Queen to Warlord

Carliah Dakrone

Walking the Path to Redemption
Carliah was in the throne room of her palace on Deleritas, anxiously awaiting the arrival of [member="Vulpesen"], leader of the Vitae. Her daughter, [member="Revy Dakrone"] was in the room with her, seated on her own slightly lower throne. The Mad Queen was happy to be in control of a planet again, though this time she intended to be a much kinder ruler than she was before... For the most part anyway. The still relatively young woman grinned at her daughter as they waited for their visitor. "Any idea what it is he wants?"

Vulpesen nodded to the guards at the landing pad as he left his ship, a set of ten guards being right behind him. They're purpose was both the natural need for protection, and to keep up appearances. "If you'll send word to Miss Dakrone that I have arrived." His words to the landing pad guard would be met with affirmation, if word hadn't already been sent and Vulpesen would make his way to the palace.

Revy looked at her mother and held back a small burp while she was drinking from her "Number One Daughter" cup... it had beaten out the "Albino Zorren Purge" cup because someone had said it would be bad taste while she was with her mother shrugging. "Eh I don't know, maybe he has news about dad or my brother... maybe they're like on zeltros partying or something who knows."

Carliah smirked as one of the palace staff came to inform her of the fox-tailed man's arrival. She stood slowly as the door to the thrown room opened and [member="Vulpesen"] was led inside. "Welcome to Deleritas, Valde Vulpesen. I hope the planet hasn't been too strange for you already? What exactly is it that has brought you to see me? Are you simply interested in what I have found?" Carliah asked once the man was close enough to hear her. She truly was curious what had brought such an important person to her new home. She glanced at Revy, gesturing for her to stand too if she hadn't already. "You've at least heard of my daughter Revy haven't you Vulpes?" [member="Revy Dakrone"]

"Its a pleasure to be here, miss Dakrone." He smiled at the woman as he entered the large room. "As for strange, there is little that surprises or strikes awe in me. Though, i will admit that the place does have a unique look to say the least." He turned to give a nod to [member="Revy Dakrone"]. "I've heard a bit. As for my purpose, i'd like to address your activities within the alliance."

Carliah's grin faltered slightly as she heard his statement. Had she done something wrong? Was he not pleased with her actions. She swallowed nervously before speaking again. "I'm afraid I don't understand. Have I done something wrong?" She asked him, trying to keep her nervousness out of her voice. She looked over at Revy, wondering if maybe her daughter had done something to annoy the Valde, but she quickly shrugged that though off. She could think of nothing she could have done to cause Vulpesen to view her with anything but favor. [member="Vulpesen"] [member="Revy Dakrone"]

Revy waved when her mother introduced her and she was listening wondering if he knew about the drunken dancing that was being done with the Zorren's... THey had ordered entertainment and the gymnasts were entertainment... then they had found this world and like gotten stung with those drugs from the bugs where they chased Zorren's naked in the woods. "Hi."

He couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Not exactly. While we could talk about the specifics of your activities I'll just mention this. The ammount of your activity." He called a chair over to sit in it, placing his tail in his lap and his hands over it. "You've been a great help to the alliance, and I'm not one to let such contributions go unnoticed."

Revy was listenign to the man as he was speaking about rewarding her and she spoke. "Mom ask him for the naked gymnasts from varadune the ones we saw before the bar in the marketplace." She whispered it while looking at the grandmaster and nodding her hed before speaking up. "Damn right we have been doing a lot, come on we should get like some dancing girls and boys."

Carliah glared at her daughter. Now was not the time to be making jokes. She turned her attention back to Vulpesen and smiled, taking a seat as well. "I see. Well I feel it is only proper that I do all I can for your group after you took us in when we ran from the Sith. Granted, I never dreamed I would be discovering a planet for you, but I had always imagined that I would do something to repay you for your kindness. Would you like some tea? Or maybe something else to drink? I can have something brought to us," Carliah continued the conversation, trying to sound at least partially sane and stable, something that was still a bit hard for her, though she was getting much better. [member="Revy Dakrone"] [member="Vulpesen"]

He rose a brow at Revy, his tail flicking a bit. "Perhaps the zorrens could use an extra stablehand. I hear a fecal matter technician position has opened up." He resumed his attention on Carliah. "And you've done quite a bit in that repayment. So much so, it occurs to me that your dedication might serve better in more administrative fields. Namely, that of our military leader."

"Me, a leader of the Vitae? Surely you can't be serious! I've been here such a short time! There must be someone better suited! Not that I'm opposed to the idea. I'm simply shocked that you would place such trust in me knowing my history," Carliah replied, looking at him with a rather confused expression. How would Yusan react to this news? Would he be proud of her? She certainly hoped so. The Mad Queen turned to Revy to see her daughter's reaction. Revy would probably kill her if she said no. @Vulpesen @Revy Dakrone

Revy was looking at her mother when she heard the news and she leaned in closer. "Ask if this means we get free booze?" She said it with a smile though. "You should take it, dad and my brother aren't doing anythign and we need something interesting around here."

Vulpesen turned to Revy, his eyes quickly narrowing at the girl. "Normally, I'd disagree and insist that you are fit for the job. Though, I'd rather not have a family with corruption in charge of such a task. And jumping so quickly to immoral prizes and payments is certainly a sign of corruption." He really wanted this to work out, but the daughter was giving him second thoughts.

"Wha." Revy was looking at him and then at her mother. "How is alcohol immoral or dancing girls?" She was trying to understand his reasoning and the only thing coming to her mind was making poodoo up. "I think you should get out more or alter the radically religious doctrine, booze and girls isn't immoral. Slavery is immoral, an empty glass is immoral.... we plan to feed and pay those who work for us."

"Revy... Most people don't request dancers and alcohol as payment for a job like this," Carliah said sternly before turning back to Vulpesen. "Please forgive her.... Her time with the Sith has... Not done good things for her. I'm working on correcting it, but such things take time. I can promise you that I am not a corrupt person. I would never do anything to put my family at risk, and I would love to lead your military, if you will allow it," Carliah explained, trying not to appear nervous. She really had no interest in either of the things Revy suggested as payment for her services in being a leader. She only hoped Vulpesen would understand that. [member="Revy Dakrone"] [member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen's expression softened and he nodded to [member="Carliah Dakrone"]. "I suppose you're right." He remembered when he had spent time in the sith. And he knew that it had marked him even now, so that the him that entered the sith, wasn't the same person that came out. "I suppose you better learn to enjoy paperwork. You're about to get a lot more of it."

"And here I thought being a military leader was going to be all about blood, gore, and wars. Such a shame. I supposed I'll have people working under me that I should meet with soon?" Carliah replied, smiling a bit as she accepted his offer. It would be a lot of work, and probably a lot of time spent seated behind a desk, but she would find a way to manage it. She was a bit concerned at how Revy would handle the sudden change in status, she only hoped the girl wouldn't go too overboard and cause too much trouble. @Vulpesen @Revy Dakrone
